Steve, pls tell Gabby that your audience would love more from him. Gabby with a few insignificant errors in monologue is much better than no Gabby at all...
Great interview! Gabby has great stories and insight and Steve has the good sense to ask a good question and then listen. So nice to have an interviewer who listens to their guests!
These are easily the best interviews I have listened to. Guests given time to answer questions fully, and the host not talking all over them. Thank you
not to put down all the other awesome Aviation podcast but this is my favorite hands down. some of them have a very strict time schedule. others don't come up with as good of on the spot questions as the interview Progressive. thank you, for what you do to preserve history!
Agreed. The long-form conversation style in this is vastly superior to the others. Nothing against those with a series of the same scripted questions, but this is so much better
I crewed the F-4E moody afb 347th TFW 68th TFS 82 to 86. This interview really brought back a flood of memories. The viet nam era guys were awesome to work with..great experience for me.
I really enjoyed listening to Gabby. Dad had the same nuke mission at RAF Woodbridge, toss-bombing in the Voodoo in the early 60s. He also mentioned ad-hoc fighting the RAF Lightning. Not sure about the 70s, but when Robin Olds was CO in the 60s, there was a great social scene. Mom has good stories.
Mr. Drake , I say heck yeah its that guy again! i love all the details you remember, even if you dont remember where your car is. i dont mind listening to another 10 hours of GABBY DRAKE history hour.
Tell Gabby that he's great! We all at times get parts of aircraft or terminology mixed up, please tell him that there's no worry about it as his stories are amazing to hear and think about. Another great interview!
Oooooh YESSS that guy again, thanks so much Gabby for all these insights Gabby, brilliant! Thanks Steve for organising and sharing all of your good work👍
Steve, thank you once again for bringing us these wounderful podcasts. And please tell Gabby he is amazing and inspiring and I love listening to him talk. Keep up the great work 👍
I LOVE this so freaking much. I usually listen in podcast form but seems like the RUclips videos go up a few days before it appears on Spotify. Either way, I'm excited to get my fix on a Saturday night
Great interview as always!!! Thanks a lot to you and your guests!!! By the way, it would be nice to interview one of the Argentine pilots who fought in the South Atlantic war in 1982. Politics asides, of course.
@@10percenttrue I am gonna try to get the contact of one of the Super Etendard Navy Aviators during the conflict. He did the Landing Signal Officer Qualification in the US Navy back in the 70s.
Since Gabby Drake is a big F-16 fan, I wonder if he would say the F-16 is the F-4 of the 90ies. Would be fun to have a debate between Starbaby and Drake!
What a gent! Apologises for inaccuracies he MAY have accidentally passed along. Even though it only has to be 10 percent true after all! Class act sir! 🫡

Sensational interview and content Gabby and Steve! Phabulous to have an F4 driver on the show!
Wonderful interview. Thank you so much. I love it when the pilots elaborate the details.
Great interview

I would love to, Ariel. Are you in a position to help make that happen?

Cracking stuff. The audio departed after your son came in, not sure if that was just me
Thanks for doing this
Our pleasure!
Very interesting and informative informative.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job Gabby!
Did you take a couple of weeks off?
We need our 10% fix!
And we need our favorite coolest nerd back, Starbaby too! 😂
Yeah, away on business. Back, now!

Hi Steve -really enjoyed interview with Gabby Drake -would you ask him which squadron he was on at bentWaters and when please? 26
Gabby says: 91 TFS (Bluestreaks) from late Dec 1972 - Mar 1976
@@10percenttrue does he recall the call sign -comic --? Please
I believe the blue streaks used "comic"from Bentwaters in the 60s/ 70s does he recall any calls signs from that timeline bentwaters?
Wow….always wondered what TISEO actually stood for!
Outstanding!!!
No combat? Blah. Gabby is a good name. Bunch of blabbing.
