Love the videos and always enjoy how you add the bashing in with the tutorial! That seems to have solved the issue! I remember watching a video a while back, you had said you didn't like how that esc acted with a sensorless motor. I see how the new update has saved the money spent!
Yeah at least with my experience it was basically broken with sensorless motors. This mostly takes care of it though I'm not a 100% happy with the amount of juice off the line but I guess you can't have everything :-)
@@DoRC I had a similar issue with my max10 on a buggy. I changed my c rating on the batteries I had from 80c to 120c. That was a huge wake up of the entire system. It's all such a balancing act.
@@ragercrepair9301 I checked battery sag in the logs and it doesn't seem like that was a problem with My particular setup but it is possible as I'm definitely not using the best battery in the world here.
Well I had commented on a previous video but I knew that they would get it together. That's why I like that brand. And I buy and race them exclusively. The I'm still using the mamba monster x . Which I had to replace not too long ago. Doo doo the bullets that lead to the motor are getting loose and I think wiggling around in there arcing in it. It's overheated and melted it I think. Never tried to get it repaired but I just bought another one but I will be upgrading to this as soon as I can find a pile of cash to do so for my race rigs . I prefer nitro but ebug has been growing on me, also etruggy looks like a good class im wanting to try! But anyhow, good video man. I enjoyed it
Was having an odd issue on mine, when in sensor mode it was skipping after half throttle. Unplug the sensor wire and it was fine. Used a brand new sensor wire assuming I pinched it, same thing. Went and updated to 1.4 version, no more issue. Had set up RMA with Castle, thanks so much for saving me the headache of mailing this in. Wish they would email buyers when update come out or something.
Hey, have you played with settings in sencored mode with castle motor? It ask for a torque test and i don't know how to do that. Plz lmk if you know! Thanks love the vids bru
You know a lot more about the techie stuff than I do. MayB a deep dive vid on how to actually use castle settings would be nice. Cuase man, it's a lot! Thank you again for everything you do for the hobby ur awsome bru. Thank you
I probably wouldn't be able to justify doing that because it's not a new product so people wouldn't really want to watch it. There should be plenty of videos on it from when it came out though
Very informative video and a great bash with your V2 EXB Kraton 6s awesome stuff. I'm not sure if i would buy one only because i wouldn't know which one of my current vehicles i would put it in i thought maybe my XO-1 since it has an MMX8s and i only plan to run it on 6s. But i don't know if the Cobra 8 could handle the Castle 1717 1,650kv sensored motor i have with my MMX8s currently. So far i'm really impressed with my Castle escs and motors although a little pricy compared to Hobbywing which is what i bought in the past.
@@DoRC Thanks that's good to know, but i'm not sure if i want to do the sidegrade to a Cobra 8 from the MMX8s although i mostly streetbash my XO-1. but do plan to take my car speedrunning some day over 100mph would be my goal with that car. She's still in the refurbishment process i also plan to get a "New to me" Phone next month.
@@cjchannel12RC I wouldn't recommend it. I don't think you're going to gain anything from the Cobra 8 unless you really need a rolling log file or just have to have the latest technology.
@@DoRC I think i might just stick with my MMX8s in my XO-1 since i don't need the latest tech in my car although it would be nice to have. My MMX-8s works fine for right now my XO used to have a G1 Max 6 1,650kv 4985 combo but i've come to love the Castle more. The only thing i miss from the Hobbywing combo is the black 4985 motor.
Yeah unfortunately hobbywing seems to be having a lot of the same trouble. They released a new firmware for the Max 5G2 but I've noticed that even the 8 BL 150 G2 seems slow off the line sometimes. Not sure what's going on these days.
It's good. Reasonably durable as fun as the Kraton always is but I think that the TC Kagama represents better value for money and is a little bit tougher just due to the fact that the arms on the 6S Arrmas really need to be updated
As I say last time. For me, Castle is for a person in competitions. For daily bashers, Hobbywing will be great options. As you know, sometimes they offer great discounts
Yeah purely from a price standpoint hobby wing is impossible to beat these days. That being said Castle does seem to have the edge in features and I would say overall quality and it's good to support a US company if you're into that kind of thing.
I've had my cobra 8 for a month now, and it's been nothing but problem after problem. It acts like it has abs when applying the breaks sometimes. Also, it has the softest start, even when set on high punch. Castle doesn't care. I'm so disappointed. I've been in the hobby for 19 years now, and it's sad to say this thing sucks in my opinion.
So I put my Tekin rx8 Gen 3 soldiered to the castle 2200kv v2 motor. I just got done thrashing the mt410 with motor temp at 131f , ESC at 124f, no glitches, or wired throttle/breaking issues. Today's temp is 90f. Thanks for your support.
Not quite the same issue but it is interesting that modern ESCs from both companies had similar problems. To be honest with you I'm not sure hobbywing has completely fixed it. The max 5G2 is better but in my experience all of their G2 ESCs don't do the best with sensorless motors. Not really sure what the deal is.
Lately castle has been… not ideal. Cobra 8 is damn near the same price as mmx8 with no discernible differences and weaker since it can’t run 8S. Also, the sidewinder nano is laughable with no built in BEC and not waterproof.
I don't have a page though if you need to contact me you can find my email address in the about section of my channel. You have to access it via desktop though as the mobile version doesn't let you see it for some reason.
I am in the hobby for 15 years, but you just taught me the difference between sensored and sensorless :)
Awesome!
_Your extremely intelligent.. I have really learned alot from your channel!_
Thanks Glad you enjoy!

@@ragercrepair9301 possibly but I consider it to be fairly conservatively geared already. Overall it's not a bad experience as it is though.

Looks like it worked like a charm! the castle stuff seems pretty solid
Yeah I would say overall their product is generally a little bit better than hobbywing. You do pay a premium for it though.

Yeah if you're on a budget that's definitely the way to go.
Jeezuusss lol. I mean… $200 isn’t going to end anyone but that really is pricey. Might as well get a Max 6 or Mamba Monster X haha.

I’m not getting the cobra. Mmx 8s for me
I can definitely understand that. Given the price of this I have the suspicion that they'll all be going up in price so might want to stock up.
