    I love Evernote; have been a user since 2010. I have found the updates to be very very good and worth it to me for the price. It truly is my second brain.

    I left Evernote to try to do the same elsewhere: Capture notes (including meeting notes associated with a calendar event), generate tasks within the note that can be managed within the note (ie. track a mini project), and have those tasks appear on my calendar according to their due dates. Needless to say, I have returned to Evernote as a paid subscriber. I can’t find anything that compares in functionality. Apple is getting better. Reminders now integrate into Calendar, but cannot convert checklist items from Notes into Reminders yet. Maybe someday.

    I used to be an Evernote user, but when Evernote decided to revamp everything a few years back, I jumped ship and went over to Notion, and I have been quite happy with Notion, though there were some initial issues at the start. Great video.

      Me too! Last year, I started checking out alternatives and discovered that the Collabwriting browser extension is perfect for what I do!

    I have used apple notes, one note, but Evernote is just a better fit for me.

    Evernote's pricing structure made it irrelevant to me years ago, and they've done nothing to change that. I love your videos, but I'm not interested in anything Evernote-related.

    For me UpNote is the upcoming star, I love it.

      I use UpNote for personal notes, but for work, Evernote is still worth it for me.

    I was an Evernote user for years. I abandoned it and can't see depending on it.

    Hi Carl,
    Great video. As a runner, do you have a goal for running?
    Thank you for your great videos.

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  25 дней назад +1

      Sometimes. But for the most part, I just consider myself a runner. It's a part of my identity.

    Great video Carl. I have had Evernote for a 10+ years. I was interested that you have projects in Evernote. What for you differentiates between a project to track in you task manager, and one that is in Evernote?

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Месяц назад +1

      Todoist is a task manager, not a project manager. In the past, when I tried using it as a project manager, it was overwhelming and prevented me from focusing on the project as a whole, so the focus was lost.
      Managing my projects in Evernote allows me to track progress, keep all notes, communications, and project milestones together, and see the bigger picture when working on the project.

    Hi Carl, what was the search feature you used (looked like Spotlight) to find a note towards the end of the video (CPI Colour Codes)? I can’t seem to find that feature in Evernote or be able to integrate Spotlight or Alfred.

    Thanks, Carl! I also use Evernote. What is the "Anchors" shortcut on your home page?

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Месяц назад +2

      My Anchors" notebook is for all those bits on information I regularly need to access. Things like my company's brand colour codes, links to important websites and anything else that I need to reference quickly.

    Carl - is your new book focused on the world of work or can it be applied to those lucky enough to have retired?

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Месяц назад +3

      Hi Keith, It's not focused just on the world of work. It's more of a manual to take control of your time so you can do the things you want to do.

      Exactly. I don't mind paying for apps I like and use but I can't justify the cost of Evernote with the features of it.

      I used them from 2011 until February of this year. I canceled the subscription. In my opinion, it was much better when they focused on just the notes and didn't overcharge.

      Same. 2009 subscriber with 1,500 notes. I converted from enex format to markdown vía Joplin, then went the Obsidian route. I'm doing great not looking back.

    How is Evernote better than Apple Notes?

    • @dodgerea8639
      @dodgerea8639 Месяц назад +2

      For me, style, color, tables, search, and Home Screen among others. Calendar and task integration are getting there fast. But most of all it’s how many years of notes I have in there!

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Месяц назад +5

      It's the flexibility that Apple Notes doesn't give me. Evernote tables are excellent, and so is the web clipper, which allows me to clip the full text in an editable format.

    I quit Evernote after over a decade and moved to Apple Notes approx 3 years ago. I have never looked back. Evernote is just bloat bloat bloat.
