I am a student nurse entering my second semester and starting clinicals soon; my instructors didn't properly teach any of this. I feel a lot more confident for my clinicals now. This is one of the most through and clearly presented videos I have found on the topic. Thank you so much!
Your videos are a HUGE help. I’m in med-surg1 right now. My instructor flew through this and didn’t really understand. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain ea step and why.
In the uk it’s advised to wear gloves because if the medication spills onto your skin, that will have an accumulative effect. So when you need that medicine later on it may not be as affective.
Update to this old comment: It does work, though, I stopped before it destroyed my body. My liver wasn't all in the best shape after taking doses. But after being off of it for a while I am getting back after it. After stopping, you loose motivation, you loose the drive, and you feel so lazy. But, I forced myself to go to the gym, and now I'm doing better than how I was on this.
Tried and still cannot get the fluid to go into the needle..it takes a back n forth multiple times to get fluid to into the needle..and usually have air bubbles that take up a ton of med to be squirted back in inorder to get them out..this is a mess
Thank you for the video. Question....instead of wasting the leftover, can’t one draw the medicine into a couple of other sterile syringes and store it safely? I’m my case, I have ampules of injectable vitamins and can not inject the entire amount. And I hate wasting the rest because it’s expensive! Can one divide it into 3 syringes, recap needles, and store in fridge, and use it during the week? Thank you
I would check with your state or facility policy. My friend owns an IV hydration business and they need a special hood to even reuse vials in her state.

How is it possible to turn upside down the ampoule and no liquid spills ? #5:43
Air pressure outside the ampoule is greater than air pressure inside the ampoule. (The liquid is 'pushed' in)
Surface tension
So is it okay to keep the ampule upside down... Every
But how is it possible that the solution didn't pour when you turned it upside down
Thanks, this was helpful! 🙂
I use to try phenomenon the intramuscular injection selution alone at home
The liquid does come out when you tip it over??
I'm confused
I'm having the same doubt.

The title should just be " HOW TO WITHDRAW " The views will be 1 million in 24hrs.
Seriously? You can turn it upside down to draw the med? I didn't know that! (I've been doing this for 15 years. LOL Thank you.
What do I do if I have to self-inject it at home and don't have access to the blunt needle or a filter?
Wonderful tutorial
When i turn the ampule upside down with the needle inside, the medication flows out of the ampule. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Hi. Are the filtered needle ( the blunt one you used) usually comes with a pink cap ? And the IM , SubQ is another color ?
Great demonstration 👏👏👏❤️❤️👍👍🙏🙏
Thank you
Are there any chances that broken glass particles get mixed with medicine?
Yes
