1st time I ever heard this song was LIVE at Coachella 2002. I was on very good drugs and was anticipating the new material that I "heard would be played". They opened up with this song. It's hard to put into words how insanely blown away I was. I love the Cure and have been a fan since day one, even Wild Mood Swings. This song still reigns as one of the most powerful songs they have ever done, IMO. It's not my fav song, but it goes to a place that none of their other songs go, and thats why I love it. I love the album too. Today, the new album drops. I am waiting . 13 more hours!!!

The out of tune or off key chords in this song are so striking. This song just hits different. It just sounds like anxiety and anger. Wow.

    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
In the head of this stranger in love
    Holding on given up
To another under faded setting sun
And I wonder where I am...
Could she run away with him?
    So happy and so young
    And I stare
As I sing in the lost voice of a stranger in love
    Out of time letting go
In another world that spins around for fun
And I wonder where I am...
Could he ever ask her why?
    So happy and so young...
    And I stare... But...
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
In the heart of this stranger in love
    Holding on given up
To this other under faded setting sun
And I'm not sure where I am...
    Would he really turn away?
    So happy and so young...
    And I stare...
As I play out the passion of a stranger in love
    Letting go of the time
In this other world that spins around for one
And I'm not sure where I am...
Would she know it was a lie?
    So happy and so young...
    And I stare... But...
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
In the soul of this stranger in love
    No control over one
To the other under faded setting sun
    And I don't know where I am...
Should he beg her to forgive?
    So happy and so young...
    And I stare...
As I live out the story of a stranger in love
    Waking up going on
In the other world that spins around undone
    And I don't know where I am...
    Should she really say goodbye?
    So happy and so young
    And I stare... But...
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
    I can't find myself
I got lost in someone else.

The cure still the cure when Robert and Simon still the sames .. that's the most important ... the Cure still The Cure ...

This song if you pay attention is continuous.... there is no breathing space for the singer. Complete emotional outpouring and claustrophobia rolled into one. This may not be a song I would normally be into but it's a treat to watch and hear it live. I am a little disjointed with this phase of The Cure till perhaps their net effort as well. But there are few gems on this album like 'Anniversary' and 'End of the World.'

This song means a lot to me, it was my redemption and purification in a period of full suffer.

This song is so shocking I feel it my heart and soul, everyone has her his interpretation yet for me is a tribute to an autistic person

Evnovation Friends of mine have 2 autistic boys (one is much more severe than the other). I can definitely appreciate this interpretation. It’s even as though “I can’t find myself” is coupled with “You can’t find me, either.”

jason is not a real drummer bah! any person with a little of musical knowledge notices that he lacks technique and self confidence...
robert likes him not because he is a good musician but because he is easy to boss!
