Greg lemond and Phil Liggett mountain so many memories. Ed so upped the ante with your content and quality of imagery. watched al your haute vids, first class! ps do you have a new lady in tow???
Love seeing the climbs again. Really love riding (and descending) Les Deux Alpes. Not very hard climb, and a great descend. Wide roads, nice sweeping bends, loved every second of it. And the only part where my weight finally helps me being faster than you (by almost 90s 😁).That route looked great though, and looks like a fun day out when in the region. Did the part from the top of the Alpe to where you rode through that water splash on the Sarenne on the first day when I was there. Didn't descend (or climb) the Sarenne fully, as like you said, the road surface isn't optimal. Great views though. Really love the content of this trip, as the Alpe has a special place in my heart since last year.
Brilliant Ed. Do you not get the urge again to be battling it out alongside Matt Holmes, Stevie William's, James Shaw etc. No secret, it's where you belong!
Descending when I was in the “pro peloton” wasn’t an issue so much for me. For me it’s a mental switch, I used to just follow and put trust in following the bunch down big mountains but being a lighter rider it brings its own challenges. I think it’s more so now that I’m super rusty. What you say is true though, to be a pro you must have a good skill set
This is the best advert for Haute Route! Great insight...love this version of the video
Great video, footage, performance and breakdown there. I'll not spoil for those who don't know about the Alpe TT.
Great work & nice video, looking forward to the next episode!
Brilliant performance Ed flying for the Welsh great incite into the event well done.
Brilliant Ed. So happy how this turned around for you after you almost decided not to travel. Enjoy the Marmotte and all the great cycling round there
Ed, you are doing a great job as ambassador for the Haute Route. Loved this video and can't wait to cycle there myself.

It’s a wonderful place, that decent you talk about was pretty special, likely one of the smoothest I did on the trip!
Epic stuff Ed.
Nice Ed And Road surface ! Can't be worst then Tour de Beauce when you came to see us a few years ago
Ooooo. It’s a close contest lol
Brilliant Ed. Do you not get the urge again to be battling it out alongside Matt Holmes, Stevie William's, James Shaw etc. No secret, it's where you belong!
Of course I do
Still buzzing!! I hope your spoiler alert didn’t leave you too disappointed? 😁👍🚴🏻♂️
I decended the sarrene last week was absolutely petrified the whole way down that surface is awful , gravely into the bends.
Good grief. You were brave. First thing I got told when I went a couple of years ago was do not descend that way down the alp.
@@Greg.Sutton brave or stupid 🤣
You are flying!
Well done
Brilliant ! Now come to Switzerland and I'll train you for the descents 🤣
Deal lol
Great video awesome views
The silent assassin.
When did the new lid arrive? I missed a few videos and got this surprise
It didn’t, it’s one I’ve had for a few years new in the box. Found a crack in my HEXR
Ed, (or anyone) what's the site you use to visualise your ride data a la 4min 45sec? Strava doesn't seem to let you zoom in (thought it used to). TIA
That’s a Google chrome extension called Sauce for Strava
@@edlaverack OMG, that's brilliant.... Thanks for the pointer..... Ride on...
Hi Ed, what website/software are you using to show your 5 minute effort? Thanks
It’s Sauce for Strava, a Google chrome plugin
@@edlaverack thanks Ed
I wonder how often poor descending or a fear of descending at high speed costs people going from ‘good cyclist’ to pro cyclist.
