I have a love/hate relationship with these, the are ideal light duty machines but have a couple of design flaws.
You should pull that 277 and throw in a newer 380 twin.

I can see why the Enclosed trailer,& & simply staying off the Asphalt is the much better option in Salt madd Ontario the Rust on the 277 elan is Crazy even got under hood amazing it's still holding together until the next right or wrong bump or tree stump finds the elan then she'll simply obliterate herself. Year round I'll bet the salt residue is still on the roads and other places , Could simply Go back to Gravel for grip and illuminate vehicle killing salt altogether.

Looking forward to seeing the work on the tundra. Elans got to expensive this year, so I picked up a 88 safari 377, you have inspired me to go all out on it. I’m putting in a tundra front suspension with the pogos, to match the sc10 I already put in the rear with the longer track. It will turn out to be a tundras bigger brother. Good luck on the build.
