He moves into places for opportunities as good as anyone in the league, sniper, great skater and handler of the biscuit.
The major difference this year is he has embraced a shoot first mentality. Earlier in his career he was trying to be too perfect with passes when the Devils needed him to be a goal scorer. He is still dishing out some assists but his shot total has went way up. The sky is the limit for Hughes. It's fun watching the video and seeing all the different ways he is scoring. One timers, slap shots, wrist shots, rebounds, bank shots, deflections, backhands. He is silky smooth hitting the five hole. "Lets Go Devils"

More points then Kakko and Laf have combined.
His wrist shot came out of nowhere, and it's what makes him so lethal now. He can pass as well as anyone, but he also possesses a wicket release. It really makes him that much more of a threat.
And he's 21! Anything is possible!
As a Sabres fan I believe the Sabres have a bright future, but I can see NJ winning a lot of cups. Add Nemec and Luke Hughes to an already stacked NJ team, and pity the rest of the NHL.

Man Jack is lucky he had such an amazing forward group, they block the sight of the goalies so incredibly well, yet get out of the way of his shots so fast!!! Great bloody team here! I hope they win the cup this year, even though I know it's not really a chance, but I hope so bad they win. Lol

Its crazy how the devils were able to get a deal done on the cheap. Now their reaping the rewards. The way contracts are being handed out now a days, i cant imagine what he would of got on the open market..
I’ll eat my words. He isn’t a bust. He just needed to gain some weight and experience.
