Just bought my starplayer TV phonic white last month. Played it for the past week, it's quickly becoming my favorite guitar. Thank you guys at Duesenberg 🎉
Believe it or not, I don’t have deep pockets, it took me about 14 months to save here and there, but finally bought mine back in 2015, a beautiful brand new Pearloid Duesenberg. Every time she gets out the case people complement her and I couldn’t be any prouder of my purchase. Have some discipline, save some money and pull the trigger, you’ll not regret it.
makes me proud to own my two tone burst starplayer this does. it's a beautiful guitar and this video is a testament to the quality that duesenberg provide. having Pete n mick in is an inspired decision as well. two great players.
I've been a long-time Gretsch player. I've added a Duesenberg Starplayer TV to my arsenal, and am in love with it. If you are considering owning a Duesenberg, GET ONE. The feel and tones of the instrument are wonderful, and offer a palette that you don't have with your other guitars. I play through Tone King and Magnatone amplifiers, and it pairs beautifully with each. Clean tones are fantastic - rich, clear and sparkling. The OD sound I get when I really push the amp with a RYRA Klone is the best OD tone I've ever experienced.
Gorgeous guitars and fantastic players -- a killer combination. I fear these will never be 100 per cent real to me. Duesenberg has been a fantasy guitar for me since I first saw one. (You should never go to a guitar shop while waiting for Chinese food to be prepared. This is experience talking.)
So..........I think I need a Duesenberg. I’m trying to decide between a Starplayer TV Custom and the CC Fullerton, but they are both perfect to me. How can I decide??
It probably depends on your preference, if you like double cuts go for the cc Fullerton, if you’re a Les Paul Custom guy or like single cuts in general more, go with the starplayer

I have it boiled down to getting a Dues. Either a Gran Majesto or a Royal OR maybe a Starplayer TV. I will be playing in a church band and my style uses a lot of rev and delay
I play in a worship band as well. I have the blue sparkle Starplayer TV and I can tell you it is one of the finest guitars I own. It is a fantastic guitar for contemporary worship music. The Grand Vintage has great clarity and that sparkle that shines through with verb and delay. The Domino P90 is a little dark but I still find uses it for it. There is no better tremolo on any guitar, this is disputable. I rarely have to tune it, it's rock solid.
The Grand Vintage is the bridge humbucker. The Domino P90 is the neck pup. This is the standard pup configuration on most Duesenbergs. There are some variants like the Deluxe and Palomas that have other pups.
Hey Jewdly, there are actually quite a lot of videos of Pete and Mick playing our guitars. Here's an older one: ruclips.net/video/q1gwDbIyols/видео.html And here's a new one: ruclips.net/video/zDHoYMdQ6qU/видео.html Cheers!
Mick is a total Strat guy who rarely plays anything else but Pete actually plays Duesenbergs every now and then in videos which are actually not about Duesenberg guitars. ruclips.net/video/mTfjOty3ju8/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/EHDhrUrBOk0/видео.html and there's more, i think Pete even owns a Duesenberg Paloma.
@@thisguy2973 You bet. I have a Duesenberg Fullerton TV too, awesome as well but when you play them both you FEEL the difference. The CC's bigger body makes for a bigger sound and a much more visceral experience. They have the same specs, but it's the body that makes a huge difference for me. Here's a picture of the model I have: www.dijkmanmuziek.nl/duesenberg-cc-2-tone-sunburst/
How much would the value of these guitars increase or decrease in, let’s say, 50 years? I guess time will tell... One of these days I’ll get me a Hollow Body...
Hey Hiram, financially, that is very hard to say and only the future can tell. Some of our early models from the 90s have increased in price quite a bit. That said, the most important value of an instrument lies in the memories that make it your own. And this value will only go up. Best regards from Hannover / Germany - The Team
I'll eventually do a video on Duesenberg maintenance, but for the time being, adhere to this: Brand new out of the box, before you even play it, apply a coat of Breakfree CLP on all metal hardware, especially frequent points of contact (bridge, tuner buttons, vibrato arm, knobs, switch tip) then wipe dry. Forums are inundated with comments regarding pitted chrome parts. It's not Chrome, it's Nickel, and it's a lot thinner plated than vintage Fender/Gibson parts. It reacts to hand sweat very aggressively. If you do this and wipe down the whole guitar with a flannel polishing cloth after each use, the guitar will stay pristine. I owned a Starplayer TV that I threw back in the case after a great honeymoon and the nickel looked like someone vomited on it the next time I took it out. No amount of buffing will take out that corrosion. Keep your guitar clean.
I have the red one and there is absolutly nothing wrong with the guitar, but I don`t like her. I changed the pickups to burstbuckers, better sound, but same bad feel, so .... . I think, that I miss the mahogani neck. All of my good guitars have mahogani necks. So you see, that wood matters, or?
Ni do regret so so mich mu Doozy Starplayer tv trans-orange sold in 2015 and my Starplayer III sold in 2016 😔!!! The price have increased SO SO SO MUCH that I will cannot buy one no more !!!! Why your price have increased that way ? Please......1400/1500 euros in 2012/13 and 2200/2400 euros now ...Any explanation at Duesenberg ? Thanks...best regards
I've asked Duesenberg the same thing about a year ago. Still no answer. Even in Germany it increased so much. So they can not argue with exchange rates...
Hey Belo, we understand your frustration. Here's the deal: we didn't have a price adjustment in years before the last one. Still, prices for raw materials and parts increased over the years as they do in any industry and we compensated for that. So at some point, we had to raise prices to keep making these guitars. Additionally, we decided to include the Custom Line Case in the price, which you had to buy seperately before. The case is around 220 EUR alone. So the price adjustment looks worse than it actually is. Still, we understand that people are put off by this. The only alternative, however, would have been to reduce quality - which was never an option for us. Thanks very much for reaching out to us, we really appreciate your feedback. Best regards from hannover / Germany
+DuesenbergGuitars , sorry but 800 euros ( more for the same guitar !!!) means 50% of the price in less than 4/5 years...! And the Guitar shop offered me the Deluxe case line for every Doozy lovely guitar I bought ! So 800 euros " increased price" is a bit hard to understand , sorry !!! The more you are a worldknown Guitar Company and you deserve it, the more you sell guitars (compared to 5 years ago !), so you get more and more money too...That is a big part of the actual price !!!!! I do regret my trans-orange Starplayer tv ....and will not be able to get another one, even if I dream of the same one that i sadly ans stupidly sold 3 years ago !!! That's life...A bit sad world.....
I personaly like your guitars but Sorry, only manager guff. See the reaction from one of your customers below. And he is - was not only one I wish only you will be better in Q building otherwise you start to be like Gibson and his history and it would be pitty👍 DuesenbergGuitars Diese Gitarre ist eine Schönheit, klingt göttlich dreidimensional und spielt sich wie Butter. If I could afford one I'd buy one. Great to see Mic an Peter demoing!
Stop crying. Go get a job, save 100$/ months. In 2-3 years you can buy one.

They are so good looking, love the vintage car look
is it just me that found this hypnotically relaxing
Pete you should definitely do a aircraft safety film with that smooth narration!
I really appreciate the perfect style of this manual. that's culture . bought one today.
Dying to own a Caribou. Alas, must wait to save-up the money. Pete is a great representative for Duesenberg.
I would love to see a signature duesenberg for Pete and Mick.
Noice instructions/info/demo from Dan and Pete! I only have a few guitar purchases left in my lifetime, and Doozy's are definitely in the running.
Amazing guitars
Good idea to do this manual video. learned a couple of things. I have a Paloma and star player. great guitars.
I just got a Paloma. Any idea if 10-52 strings are ok? I feel like 10-46 might be a bit too light but don’t know if 52 is too thick
Gratuitous Mick and Pete guitar jam porn, reason enough to watch!
Not only that, but I think they're also the narrators, which makes it even more pleasurable.
Good tips! Thanks.

A great idea, and very nicely presented. I should play my Doozy more often, it's a lovely guitar!
Can anyone explain what exactly the PUR lacquer is?
...my starplayer special arrived today...so glad I didn’t get that PRS...brilliant guitar...
Hmm. I own both. They both own and fulfill rather different places under the sun.
What is you best pickup height settong for warmth and great well balance response ? Best regards
Hey there,
our standard setup aims to deliver exactly that. Find info at 5:47

Will somebody buy me the Paloma in red sparkle please. Thanks in advance.
Is there any difference between the 2 ways of putting your strings on purely Looking at the tuning stability?
It would be silly not to thread it through the hole and use the locking mechanism.... no idea why they would suggest otherwise.
