I’ve got some really nice guitars. Little by little my Duesenberg Starplayer TV Deluxe has become my go to guitar room favorite. It plays the best, the trem is terrific, my two pickup version provides a nice mix of tonality and excels at a warm full sweet voice, and looks SO cool. Mine has oval inlays which seems to be pretty unusual and a Gretsch like orange finish. The guitar is a terrific instrument.

I agree. My Starplayer Deluxe has overtaken all my other guitars as the most versatile, reliable, and all around best guitar I own.
I happen to own one as well. Similar to the one in the Video, but not the deluxe Version. I chose the dusenberg over stratocasters and les pauls for their versatility. The P90 gives a good clean tone while also providing a humbucker for more brutal distortion Sounds. And i didn't even talk about the tone stable tremolo/whammy bar
Lots of worship guitarist gravitate towards these and I don’t blame them. I dream of owing one of these.

For me it’s just incredible how Micheal gets this variety of sounds out of this guitar. That just blows my mind. Especially the beginning on the neck pickup and the shimmer reverb 😄🤟🏼

Really cool metal strip under the pickups, reminds me of a car running board or something on a cylinder head cover… seeing that Duesenberg was an old prewar sports car brand (Jay Leno has a few).
Not the same company
Not that it matters for our discussion, but in the interest of accuracy…….Duesenberg autos were a pre WW2 premium luxury make headquartered in Auburn Indiana. Today the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is in the Auburn Indiana former corporate headquarters and is a terrific visit. The guitars are made in Germany and not related to the former American auto brand.

No 2 and 4 position?
The guitar has indeed 3 positions: neck, both and bridge.
The tone pot actually blends in the middle pickup in any position. The tone pot has three "clicked" positions: pot "off": tone roled off, pot "middle": tone rolled full, tone pot all the way "up": blended in the middle pickup full.
So selector
Top: neck+ middle.
Middle: neck+middle+bridge.
Bittom: middle+bridge.
The vid actually states it wrong: when he mentions "the middle pickup" you actually hear all three, giving the nice twang.
Whe he states "bridge" you actually hear the bridge and middle pick-up. Giving you the strat like "quack".
Pa. I do own a Duesenberg StarPlayer Custom and a Special myself. Both black. Bhe both use this split Tone knob function. I love them to death. Max versatility.
Love these Starplayers! Always wanted one when I saw Chris Cornell playing them when Soundgarden got back together! However! Gotta do a Maton!

Got to say, I don't care for the Duesenberg vibe much. It's kind of like to a Gretsch what a PRS is to a Gibson, just sort of an expensive and somewhat bland (despite all the bangles and sparkle) unnecessary variation on a theme. Sounds fine. Plays nice I'm sure. I've got a feeling these babies go way down in value from new to used. That said--all guitars are wonderful!
My Starplayer has tripled in value since I bought it over 15yrs ago. I could afford to buy one back then, I can't now. You can do all the tasteful, retro twangy stuff on it but its also a nasty, heavy sounding beast when its cranked up with distortion. Its a very versatile instrument, I'd never part with mine.
I pretty much agreed with you until I acquired one. I own, and have owned, a lot of guitars considered high end. My Duesenberg Starplayer TV Deluxe has its own unique personality and is a wonderful guitar. They seem to hold their value quite well, although the market is admittedly smallish for them. Good luck finding one that might be considered cheap. Mine isn’t for sale at any price.
I do own a Starplayer Custom and a Special. The Custom has gone up from 2.100€ in the 3.000 plus regions. Bought ot for 1.900. The Special was aired around 1.300 and is now in the 2.600€ range. And since the are not a kazillion copycat models, like there are Gibby, Epi or copy brand models, I suspect they will hold their value.
Not that I do care very much, since I will hold on to them as long as my playin' life will last.
That was a lousey berg, I'll take a les Paul and strat any day
