Same here! I sang it about four years ago with my college women's choir and since then I've been looking everywhere for a recording. I couldn't remember the composer either and I was starting to think I'd imagined it. Thank you for sharing! My life feels a little more complete now.
I sang this during my Junior/ Senior year in High School circa 1983 at the PMEA regionals or all State. Have been trying to find a recording of it for years.... Thank you for allowing me to listen to this song again.
Than you so much for your uploading. It makes reminding my college choir´s period before 15 years ago. This song is like a souvenir for my life of musician.
You're obviously not listening...the amount of tonal cohesion in the delivery of this this piece is amazing. Next time, stop singing with them, and listen.
This does not sound like a choir, it sounds like 50+ soloists all trying to be louder than the person next to them. Bummer... When will choir people learn to lose the old-church-lady vibrato?
Ha! I sang this in my high school choir in 1965! It was my favorite.
I sang this beautiful work in 1976 with my college choral on our east coast concert tour, along with 5 other works by Thompson.
