You found Jim... Looked like a great trip. Food looked delicious, ribeye looked fabulous. You burned the pancakes... lol love the honesty. Thank you for sharing, take care Robert.
Love it. Comanche was my first experience camping in the wilderness at 17. I’ve taken others there over 60 times since then. Never fished there but my nephew once caught a decent size trout with his bare hands right there by the camp.
Cornelius Walker Wow! I almost did the same, catch it with my bear hand. That place is kept wild for the longest time, thanks to the (very) rough road that make some folks think twice before going. And thank you for your input about this beautiful place.
Roman, it’s not that secret of a spot and it’s a little more difficult to reach than most folks want to trek too. But I’m always catch and release plus I always clean up others trash. Sometimes a few more people in a place can help clean it up a bit. 🤷🏼♂️
Ramon Rodriguez From I-15N in Fontana, exit at Sierra Ave then turn left. That part will become Lytle Creek Road. Drive for about 15 mins and you’ll see a road to your left. It’s the Middle Fork Road and kinda narrow road that’s leads you to the trail head of the same name. The camp from there is about 2.4 miles of beautiful chaparral and brushes.
I have to say that I am enjoying watching your videos. Are you part of a backpacking club? I am interested in joining a group. Keep making them videos!
Happy Camper Thanks. Well, sometimes I go with friends that I met from years of backpacking. There’s a FB group that we have it’s called Southern California Hikers. From there members get to plan on their own trips. Are you local, maybe you can join us sometimes.
There are three trail camps along this trail. Stonehouse, Third Stream Crossing (where we camped) and Comanche Camp. All these are designated campsites.
@@20robertang thanks! I’ve been wanting to go to Lytle creek for a couple years I just haven’t done it yet. I think I’m going to head up there this May. Those designated campsites are yellow pole sites I assume? First come first serve?
@@myotherlinefishing Yes, pretty bad ass place to camp. First come first serve. Make sure you check if the area is open for overnight.. Middle Fork trail is within San Bernardino National Forest and right now - the SBNF is still closed.
Ramon Rodriguez Thanks for checking out the video. That stool was from a FB site that I saw one time. I also saw it on IG. They call it Folding Chair Aluminum 7075. I think it was priced at $25.00.
Fornutnately none so far and I’m not looking forward of having any trouble. But to be sure, I leave my glove compartment open and empty including the one in between the driver and passenger and not leaving anything inside the vehicle.
@@20robertang Good to hear. My Son and I recently got dropped off at Middle Fork trailhead and stayed a night at comanche (we cleaned up the trail and one site before we left) before summiting Cucamonga, then hiking out to Baldy Village via Icehouse Canyon; thanks in part to watching your videos of the area. Next time, I just want to park, hit up 3 Stream Crossing...and check out the hidden waterfall.

Ha ha ha, Jim love you talk.. thanks, Jason.
Beautiful area for backpacking!!
I’ve seen that movie Extraction. It’s awesome.
Really cool area and video 👍
Thanks, Jason. That was my first time to watch a movie in a backpacking trip. Usually I read a book. ✌️
Great video guys !
Thanks, Dorian!👍
Nice outing Robert. Very cool. That little REI tent is awesome. Thanks for sharing !
Thanks, Craig. I’m still loving that little shelter, just have to try it in the rain yet.
fivemoreminutes It doesn’t rain in Southern California ! Lol ! Peace ✌️
looks like a great time in the woods! 8 eggs wow i think i could eat 4 and some bacon before a hike though good stuff thanks for taking us along
Jim eats a lot, can’t blame him.. lol. Bacon and eggs and pancake combo is my fave for camp breakfast.
Another great video
Thank you.
Good seeing you out hiking the steak looked good
Thanks, Charlie. That’s my second time to cook steak in a backpacking trip.. I guess I’m liking it. Take care!
You make the best trail food Robert! Take care brother.
Thanks, Jim. Hey, I believed somebody video tagged you. Lol! Check it out.
Epic trail food!

👍🏻 ribeye, real garlic, butter, 💯
I think that’s an easy way to enjoy a good, delicious meal at camp.. butter and garlic makes the flavor. Hi! to Kathy.
How do find these places? Please share I use Alltrails to find Deep Creek. I want more places to hit up.

Is the waterfall right next to camp and easy to get to?
Yes, it is not that far.. like 5 minutes or so. Moving towards the camp, water fall is located on the right side before camp.
Hi Robert, great video, love to see your camp cooking. Curious, is there water source at Comanche camp?
Thank you. Yeah, there’s water there still flows enough to be sourced out.
Next time you go out there, I'd like to tag along. Haven't been out to the 3rd stream crossing in well over 5years
Of course, we will catch that elusive trout. Yes bring Mike too.

Thanks, yeah, there are some. The kids (3 boys) caught one big trout and released it again.

No fish there, the water is too shallow. Only at the falls.
