Can’t thank you enough Cris, I have watched your videos and used your guides for many years now, they’re an invaluable resource, thank you for creating your videos and so many great trail guides.
The lower trail that runs through stone camp later connects back up to the main Middle fork...and is my favorite detour...as it follows along the creek instead of running along the bank.
Just did this trail on Sunday it is my favorite route up to the saddle now. Very peaceful the waterfall is an added bonus. Thank you for your video and all the details you put into it. Definitely will explore again from here but will add Ontario or cucamonga to the hike.
Like many commenting, I've done Cucamonga a bunch of times, and always wondered about that fork heading down to the left from Icehouse on the way to Cucamonga Peak. Looks like I'll have to plan a hike through there! Thanks Cris!
I was wondering where that Middle Fork trail junction led to the last time I did Cucamonga from Icehouse. This looks amazing! Would make a great local backpacking trip. Did you come across any other hikers before the saddle? Seems pretty remote for the San Gabriels.
I was heading over there today to do a hike for the Autumn Equinox. I heard a high clearance vehicle is needed for the road in but I also heard some sedans made it. Is it possible to be careful and drive in without a high clearance vehicle? Thanks for your video. If worse comes to worse, I read you can park off the road and walk extra 1/2 mile to the trailhead 🤷🏻♀️
Excellent! Thanks!

Thank you!!
I use to fish Cucamonga creek and there were a few nice waterfalls there.
We do this every year in the winter for our intro backpacking trip with scouts. We try to get to the saddle, but are usually prevented by snow.
It's always useful to see the beautiful nature and wonderful trails in detail. Thanks

Awesome! I grew up in Upland (south of Mt Baldy) and have never hiked Lytle creek. Maybe I’ll try, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tip on the water fall try to get the but can find the trail thanks
I need to try this trail on a weekend too, especially if it's underused. Beautiful trail indeed.
Thanks!
Nice!
I really enjoy your videos
Beautiful hike! Thx again buddy!

Thank you 👍 and glad you got to enjoy it - and yea, much more mellow than Icehouse Canyon.
Such a great video … do you know how many miles to the falls ? Thank you
@@roxannemoya7177 yup in the guide on the website - link in the description
It looks like cucamonga and San Jacinto 😎

👍👍 Yea this route is much more quiet - I might see one or two people on this trail if any - much different than Icehouse Canyon
very good option now that IceHouse Saddle is closed
First, thanks. How do you feel about going passed thr waterfall and rejoining trail further up instead of backtracking?
It's so beautiful but the trail looks so narrow.
Yea def some narrow points but nothing dangerous if you take your time with footing

Yea, it's pretty off the beaten path, great for camping. I did this hike 4 times in the last 2 months and never saw anyone else on the trail.
12 miles ... Whoo wee
Very nice. How long did it take you to get to the falls?
About an hour
When did you do this hike? I’m going soon and hoping the creek is not dry.
Should be flowing still - video is from July
Bro I tried looking for this waterfall on the trail and couldn't find it. Are there more details to it..?
There's a GPX and waypoint in the guide on my website

Check out the guide on the website for some images of the road and recommendations. You should be okay.
Oops I saw that it takes an hour to the falls 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤓
