I was so confused to hear that he will be leaving. First I thought he moved to nyc to do this thing for a longer period, at least a year or so. Don’t know why I made that assumption, but it will be sad because the dynamic between Casey and Dan is more golden than golden chicken wings!
Please don’t leave yet Dan, I wanted to come visit the 368 studiO to POPCORN some great IdeaS with you and CASEY. I know we can make some fantastic MOVIES that may help unify HUMANITY to make THE wOrLD a better place for our children’s FUTUre. ONE movie at a time, we can make our dreams and your DReams come true together. Dream it, BELIEVE it, and do it. Well the guy has been working like mad for Casey for a while. Remember how many vlogs he was just sleeping in random places? I think even if this is true he's completely deserving of it. That aside, I've spent some time watching his videos. He's an incredible filmmaker in his own right and I think any followers he gains will want to stick around.

Zero Cool I'm down for change and an evolution of style, but I've been following Casey for years (maybe a year before he started vlogging), and what drew me to his work was his rag-tag, slapped-together "I don't give a sh*t" documentary-esque style. He wasn't acting up for the camera, he would just make whatever he wanted and carried it with his editing style and no-BS personality. That lack-of-filter has waned over the years so this felt like a return which I loved.
Dan, when are you restarting your channel? Your work is pure gold.

There was a lot of depth in this video. It offered a lot of insight into the directorship that Casey takes on each of his vlogs. They don't just happen, Casey produces and directs a film every day. That's phenomenal.

As a young creator I'm so excited to see what you've got in store with 368! Also, can 100% relate to Dan's situation. Some people think I'm lazy for missing deadlines but the the truth is I'm a perfectionist! Whatever he's making, I'm sure it's amazing. Dunno how you manage to create this much high quality content daily. Your mental stamina is incredible dude!
I agree, it's soo tough.. I'm trying to do daily vlogs. I'm resorting to just getting 1 out every day even if they're not perfect. It's HARD though because I'm a perfectionist too.

Who else is a perfectionist? I really can relate to Dan about being a perfectionist. But what Casey thought me is that progression is key. It's better to finish something and, learn from it and move on to the next. The moving forward and the micro goals it comes along with really helps you improve, get better and get quicker at recreating that idea you have in mind.

Genius. Dan has helped lift Casey’s show into the next realm.
first you film without dan and create a mask only on that spot. Then you film casey while dan is already there but masked and slowly decrease the opacity of the mask so dan will slowly appear
Cozmic Sev. Thats with 2 separate “pieces” - this shot has the 1 piece merge into the other and continues without a cut.
You description happens when you have 2 separate cuts that never interact with each other. This 1 loops live right into the other..
If you don't move the camera and mask the video without Dan on top and then keyframe the opacity down it would have the same effect. Because the camera doesn't move there's no difference in the background hence it looks like one shot!
Take a look at the laptop screen during that shot, you can see the line of split between Dan and casey clearly as only half of the laptop screen on casey's side moves
