Met Essie before she sold the company at a Hair and nail show they have in Orlando Florida every June. She was behind the counter selling her own polish with helpers. Nice lady remember in the early or mid 80’s we used a no name polish with number and a rep came to show us her polish and it actually had names instead of numbers. My boss ordered it right away. This was the beginning of her and OPI.
Wow, thats incredible. I loved Orlando shows. I worked the shows in mid 2000s. We had a blast back then! I miss it.

Essie Gel Couture is one of my favorite brands. I find that they are quite long lasting. Rock the Runway is one of the best reds ever. Great video, as always!

I recently purchased Essie expressie in a pretty blue color called In the modem . I did not know that it does not require base or top coat .However, been using Essie’s all-in- one base and top coat . It’s very shiny and my polish seems to last about a week ! Also,must buy that bright red orange shade !👍♥️
I would also recommend especially the top coat with Expressie. I have to try the all - in one Essie
Great colours! I’ve learned to use 2 gel setter topcoat applications to make Essie last on me for more than 2 days. Best wear was 5 days. Long enough, but anything less is disappointing! Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the spring shellac line I just saw on Instagram!

I bought both the violet and pink tint from the "hard to resist" nail hardener line, used both of them once as base coat. As of now I cannot say it strengthened my nails whatsoever. Also, I cannot wear them alone as with two coats they look too strong on my nails. The lilac is so purple if I was in cold water for hours and the pink is so pink-reddish on my nails in two coats like if some red nails polish would have stained my nails. (Note, I am really-really pale, so most colors look much more intense on me like on the average person.) I will use these up as base coats, but so far I am not impressed at all. 🤷🏻♀️
I bought the violet expecting it to actually add a purplish tone to my nails. My hope was to wear it alone for a few days between manicures. Two coats looked like plain old clear polish! I have light olive skin so evidently our skin tone makes a difference.
Rock the runway is my favourite red. It’s incredible! Sadly because the line takes so long to dry I don’t use my gel couture polishes that much anymore.
Hi Kristen! I wonder if it's the polish that takes forever to dry or the top coat.... I have to test it. I agree though. It does take a while. ;(
@@TheSalonLife might be both. Maybe I’m doing the coats too thick, need to try again with thinner coats but I find that the second coat of red and the top coat take quite awhile to dry. I’ve also had some issues with the polish cracking on my nail before it chips with the lighter shades so I usually have to take it off sooner than needed. Since my nails are ridgy I usually prefer the opaque colours. I only wear this brand if I have all night to watch movies and do my nails since it takes so long to dry. Still the best red though.

This is an unpopular opinion… but I actually prefer the old skinny brushes because I keep my nails cut to the quick (requirements of the kind of work I do, it’s just easier without nails to catch) the old brushes are perfect for my tiny nails

Yes, the Gel Couture! Sorry. I love the ease of it, but it just wrecks my nails something awful. Totally not worth it in the end, for me personally. I do love that Caviar Bar color, though. I need to find a Dazzle Dry replacement for it.

I love Jazzmasters!!!! Especially the newer baritone models with the JM-101 pick ups. At first glance I thought they were P90's. I was blown away how those single coils take on low end (A Standard/B Standard tuning). Seymour Duncan did a good job designing them. - MSL
