@@TexasHondaChannel I feel you there! Just drove my insight for the first time in two months after putting the built engine in with basically all new everything! It feels like you are standing still while moving full speed, lol.

Canting the engine like that actually helps promote better engine oil drain back to the oil pan. Rally and drag racing has been doing it for a very long time. It helps the oil run down the sides of the block inside and keeps oil out of the crankshafts way. Keeps it from aerating the oil in the crankcase and reduces rotational drag while the engine is running.
In the Mazda it should actually give you more exhaust clearance.
@@jeremypike9153 you are 100% right and I was thinking the same exact thing. I don’t always say everything I’m thinking on camera or I would ramble for hours lol 😂
@@TexasHondaChannel whether they did it intentionally or not I don't know. I'm thinking they did it to line up the starter to the transmission but it worked out good for both the engine and the transmission. Almost as if they both wanted to be mated together.
@@jeremypike9153 Yea probably did it for a reason. I’m not a engineer so couldn’t tell you to be honest. Might even have been for clearance in the engine bay of the RX8 even

My time is fast I’m autistic with adhd so my pace is super fast but I tend to take my time while doing it. It’s hard to explain lol 😂
This build is moving right along! Keep up the grind man! Make sure to get some good exhaust mods, K motors like free flowing exhaust
Don’t worry I’ll have free flow but it’s not gonna be open dump pipe like almost every K swap out there. I for sure want full exhaust but it will be free flowing and “epa compliant” 😉

Damn that is a thick flywheel! But I guess.it has to be thicker to make up for the thickness of the adapter plate. Also amazes me that they went through the extra time to polish the surface of the adapter plate.

My rx8 is very reliable with it's 13b
I couldn't imagine how heavy that flywheel would be if it were cast or billet steel. Being aluminum though and that thick makes sense. You aren't having to space out the throughout/release bearing.

Yup unfortunately I don’t have enough funds for that just yet. Getting it installed will be a challenge all on its own. After it’s all running and moving then I’ll focus on all that stuff

before you receive the adapter kit , i was thinking the price is very expensive, but after you unbox everything and i do think it does worth the price

how reliable is the Rx8 6 speed transmission... does it work well with the K swap?
Fitment to a K24 would should be the same? Sensors on back clear? Did you get the waterline relocate kit?
What's the PN on that clutch slave?
Never,! ever,! ever,! start a bolt with a power driver, always, I mean always!!! Start them by hand first! Also don't wind the adaptor plate bolts in u til the plate is fully seated over the dowels! If the dowels bottom out before the plate is flush it will buckle and you can throw it away, all this advice from a mechanic that did a 10.000 hour apprenticeship to learn his trade, and that was 50 years ago

I am not sure. If you contact Collins adapters they might be able to make you a custom adapter plate kit for it.
Did it come with gaskets to seal the gaps?
The gap is gone once it’s tightened down. If you watch at the end where I put it all together you can see no more gap.
