- This is our biggest siege game yet! Its the Siege of Minas Tirith. The forces of Mordor have marched forth from their dark fortresses to wage war on the people of Gondor!

No strike or defence on poor ingold vs the Troll? Also: Gentleman s agreement not to cast banishment or staff is broken on each others commanders? 😄
Thanks for the comment. Heroics need to be declared at the start of the combat phase and since the gate was hit in the combat phase Ingold would have needed to declare his heroic before he was in combat. In that case the trolls simply would have avoided him.
Because Gandalf had Fortify spirit I didn't try to go for his staff and I think that Daley was to excited about blasting models off the walls to worry about banishment!

Absolutely stunning paint job on the Gondorian forces, which match perfectly with the new Kingdom of Tor Ithilas 👏 I'm definitely buying this new set too and add it to my collection with the other 3 Kingdoms that you've made (Saxonia, Durak Deep and Azragor) 👌 I think I will start to print the ruined buildings and make a city like Osgiliath 😀 congratulations Jacob and thank you for your awesome work 🙏

I dont think the floor is printed. Its made out of foam

Great video! Have you guys ever thought to use the War of the Ring Rule set? It's the "mass Battle" version of the rules and would suit these massive games very well

nice report! i think you guys really nailed the scale. The board isnt too big where it's easy to get lost, but it's big enough to feel epic

man, I love seeing these battle reports, makes me want to play more. also would have been fun to see some easterlings in the game pushing the gate like in the movie but still very fun game to watch

Your terrain designs have all been fantastic!! I'm seriously looking forward to your Elf themed buildings if you decide to go that direction. Keep it up Jacob! As an entrepreneur myself, I know this has been a ton of work behind the scenes to pull off and you're on the upward trajectory since going into this full time!

It kinda feels pointless shooting into buildings if attacking player doesnt get any bonus from it, maybe WK could get will/might back fromm it, or gondorias -1 courage for each destroyed building while witedalf could get something of mighty hero rule, when he gets some additional bonuses when the game advances, maybe after 5 kills, he could get a fearless bubble and after 10 counting as a banner?

The buildings all had archers in them and it allowed me to kill guys inside the city without risking scattering onto my own troops, the main goal was to show off the terrain though

Ingold, Knight of the White Tower and Hûrin (The Strike Bros) and we didn’t see one Heroic call against the Trolls?! I wanted to see those intense strike up rolls!

@@ConquestCreations Gotcha! Watching it live, the phases got confusing at that part, as the Trolls then move in the Fight Phase, correct?
“Guard or the citadel indeed!” Pippin adds +1 to wound on two handed weapons (to recreate the moment in the movies)

Those Trebs and Bolt Throwers did so much damage. I guess this proves that warmachines aren't crap 🤣😂
The elevated position on the bolt throwers really helped. Never seen them get off that many shots ever in any other game.

Imagine a horde of orcs overruning your fair city, only to see them jumping on your siege equipment with no idea how to use it, and wandering around aimlessly between your market stalls. The only response is to leap from the walls in rage and possibly die in order to take some of them down.

Nice batrep but why on earth would the defenders leave space for all trolls to move through the gate, when they could have simply blocked it, thereby allowing only 1 troll to fight…. ?
It's a good question! We were emulating the film where they left the space for trolls, leave it up to incompetent command

Loved the recreation of the seige of minis tirith lads, is this terrain good for non lord of the rings models aswell?
Can definitely be used for any miniatures game at a simmilar scale.
Yeah works great for sigmar or other historical/fantasy gaming!
How did the siege bow not get to know the witch-king flying?
Piercing shots only knock models that are strength 5 or lower prone/flying, and the fell beast is strength 6.
Great stuff so far. I do feel like it’s a bit of a missed opportunity to not play up the drama. E.g SPOILER when the witch king was killed we should have seen that roll.
Thanks for the feedback, I do agree, however when filming a game that takes over 6 hours to play there are a lot of dice rolls that don't amount to anything exciting so occasionally one is missed
@@ConquestCreations of course :) I just think with narrative battles it’s more engaging if we really follow the feats of the heroes throughout the game. You certainly did with Gandalf!

How many rolls of filament did this terrain take?
I reckon the full set of 100% everything printed is 10-15kg of PLA.
Everything was printed at 0.2 layer height with an infil of 5%
@ConquestCreations cool. Guess the walls were the biggest sap of filament? At the moment only looking at buildings any way so hopefully jump on this.
@@pc1491 The walls take a lot the buildings are totally dependent on which one. The small ones are 250 grams while the larger ones are around 600 grams

I’d have spent the first round or two swapping out the troops on the wall with the fountain court guard. Their higher fight is better use against the orcs on the wall than wasted fighting the trolls
I’d have had all those archers and bolt throwers take out the witchking
Always felt those Mordor trolls having only 3 attacks and 3 wounds is pretty harsh. Perhaps 4 and 4 would be better
Three attacks is really not reliable to win fights. They botch quite often. They need the banner support, ideally. It also hurts because you can’t spear support them. I think three dice to wound can also be a little bit underwhelming at times. I think they’re the right choice for this Bat Rep 100% but you don’t see them used competitively because of this. They could either do as you suggest or drop the points cost a bit to make them more tempting.

If you think that adding thematic rules ruins a game I think you fundamentally missed what we were going for here. This was not a competitive match. We were having fun recreating a scene from our favorite movie.
The three of us together have probably played over 100 tournaments, we all know the rules. This is an opportunity to chill and make cool stuff happen.
Bit frustrating watching this - missing out key rules means Mordor we’re screwed over - trolls cause terror you’re telling all those good models passed and charged?? Come on
Also dude use the witch king properly he’s a spell caster you used zero magic in that entire game
The video was a lot of fun. But please, please stop giving the good guys plot armour. The roll-off in case of a fight tie is 1-3 evil. Not 1-2. Some of us actually want the evil side to have a fair fight. Some of us actually want to see the evil side win. Some fluff rules here and there is fine. But it almost always seems like the good side has a clear advantage.
