The coolest part of the stage show for this was that lighting effect from Howard that somehow mimicked the rain on the screen and made it look like it was raining on the stage. It doesn’t really come through on video, but it was pretty magical in the venue
What I like about the string section is that a lot of Rush's songs have a bit of a dramatic flair or grandness to them, and the strings really bring that out. Those lights and floating screens really did add a lot to the stage show! LOL about the drum solos!
Loved this song live. You can hear their 60’s influences like the Yardbirds and The Who in the tones, chorus, and overall structure of the music. The strings really add to the drama of this song. Good reaction and review
At least he didn't say "Okie dokie!" :) I'm glad I can actually hear him singing more clearly in this song. It seemed like a few before it wasn't as clear.
I like The Wreckers a lot on the record but it's even better live...I really like how they switch from the overall pop rock sound to a grim, caught in the storm vibe during the bridge.
So at the tail end of your daily episode, you referred to another drum solo. If you recall, Neil's solos were approximately 8:30 minutes long, give or take. And they were in 3 or 4 segment's. So if you watch these shorter ones you'll notice 1 is like the beginning where there's a lot of snare soloing. Then there's the electric kit section. And I want to say there was a part where theirs heavy tom and cowbell work featured. I think the only parts missing were the call & response with the horns, and the big band finally. But the man, the myth, the legend was never known for playing short solos. They were more like compositions. 😎☮️
I think that is the bass geddy used at the rock and roll hall of fame performance with Yes when he played Roundabout. And I think it’s been his go to for a while with the recent tributes he played in.
I thought the same for a while too, but going back and checking, the one he used for the Yes performance was a '62 in sea foam green (the clear distinction being the non-matching headstock).
Important song for the overall story of CA, but apparently marginally ahead of Tai Shan.. Ged plays a similar color bass on Roundabout when inducting Yes into HOF (similar)
I agree, good song, not a favourite but a good song. The strings come through really well and add a lot of weight to the song, especially in a LIVE performance. Have a great day Justin.
I really wish Al had done a nice soulful outro solo at the end (a MISSION-esque solo for example, kinda like the outro solo on the studio version before it fades) instead of just shredding: it didn't feel right for that beautiful ending with the strings. I was always disappointed with that lol
Gary not Geddy says: Enough of the drum solos already!!! Geddy play a bass solo Alex play a guitar 🎸 solo …GEEZ can’t a guy rest with a beer 🍺 without playing every single moment of a 3 hour show plus!
That guitar solo always gives me goosebumps. Alex is one of the best.

I liked this one right away.

I liked this better than the studio version! And Howard did great with the lights! Enjoyed it! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!

This is a rare live song where I think Alex is ACTUALLY singing!
JPan's warming to the album!!!

Gary says: Reverend Jim(Christopher Lloyd)from Taxi 🚖 used to say that: you don’t want to go the bar with me??? OKIE-DOAK!
I didnt get a chance to watch this yet. Did this live version make Justin cry tears of joy?
This song is about what happens after No One’s At the Bridge 🐾
Probably their most catchy tune in their catalog. In a pop kind of way lol
😎😎🧡🧡
the violins fits very well on that song, a great one🤘🎻🤘

@@RedSectorAndy Cool. Thank you for correcting me. I was not sure but remember it being one of his more colorful ones!

Yes, a good song and the strings do enhance it.
Gary says: The Wreckers are the cheaters trying to break up a marriage…I-Michelle say it’s tow trucks! Geddy says: OKIE-DOAK

Not my fave Rush songs ever but was glad they were still making albums and touring

This song was OK. I like how they ended it.
Hey, I say okie-doke! Wait… 🤔
Not a favorite but for me the strings really breathed some life into this song.
I thought the strings enhanced the song live. Still could take or leave this track.

Solid song, nothing special but it isn’t bad at all.
Not one of my favs, but a solid effort nonetheless.
Hey, I'm first.
Nah. Not a good one honestly...skiparoo
Meh.
