I just realized that you are on two YT channels… I had seen this video last month and I couldn’t find it anymore (on Southern Ukulele Store)… Anyway, my point is that, just after seeing your video, I ordered this same Uke and I received it last week… It is gorgeous indeed, on every aspect, as you pointed out. I wish you could have the "selling commission" since you clearly was the salesman for me...;-) Thanks for your work...
Alex, I could watch you play all day. Thank you for sharing your A10FM with us. Sounded great with both sets of strings but DGBE was dreamy! Gorgeous. Have to add .. I love the excitement at 0:44. Made me chuckle. There's nothing like the feeling of unboxing and opening a Uke gift to ourselves.
Congrats! Your original SUS video and the fact you had personally ordered one was the main reasons I jumped on the change to preorder earlier this year. Unfortunately, mine arrived a few months back with serious quality issues that resulted in its return. It was a shame really, because I loved how it looked and sounded. I also agree with you that Uke Logic is the way to go, mine arrived with damaged strings and I immediately restrung with a set of Uke Logics that sounded great. Can't wait to hear you play it more!
That's a real shame to hear. I did read of a few people who had QV issues with the first batch. Thankfully I've seen 12 of them now all well built so whatever issue there was appears to have been addressed as far as I can tell.
@UkesWithAlex There are a couple of unsold ones in store at a uke store in Australia where I live. Flight is not as much of a popular brand here so they just never sold
Sounds like you 're in that unique spot of ukulele satidfaction ;) Congrats (and good to see you getting a left hand model!) For me, that rosette is just too wide and dominant. With a uke that is already an eye catcher that bling bling aurora is overkill in my humble opinion.
Yo! Not my instrument … but hey, I respect it! I have my 👀 set on a different ukulele … you know it 😉 Merry season 🕯 🎄 - Keep up your great work, Alex!
so pretty!!! :) I like the electric flight aquamarine guitar. but looking for a uke to try covers and classical music... wait a minute, is it over usd$1000??
The ULI-T is a bit more effortless, perhaps its the size of my hands against that particular neck shape or the more natural sustain of the cedar top. There isn't really a straight answer, we just like what we like and our tastes change. For the past 6 weeks, I haven't played any other ukes other than my Kanile'a Manako and Manu Hu...
Haha, have you played one? I'd be shocked if you played this against a £250 uke and felt they were comparable. Honestly, you pay about 30% for the look but implying that it's a £250 uke with a £750 finish is funny. I'm all for differences in opinion and all that but I own a Flight carabao which is about 1/4 of the price and this is two steps up the build quality ladder.
At Southern Ukulele Store, I would say budget between £200-400 to get the best possible beginners uke. The Flight Carabao series, Flight Mustang etc are all great choices between £300-400. The Iris ukes are also superb and under £200. Moving away from Flight, Uma are also a good brand. Perhaps contact us at Southern Ukulele Store and discuss it with us rather than here... it will be much easier to converse and narrow it down
It's rare to see you so excited about a uke in a personal capacity, usually it's a more refrained professional opinion. Love it.

Great stuff mate. Glad I could help!

I'm glad you liked it. I rarely get a chance to unbox stuff of my own, I tend to find my stuff by surprise amongst stock. Haha

Flight all the way! Gorgeous uke, great video!
Currently saving for one of these
They aren't in production anymore. We have two second hand at Southern Ukulele Store right now

I getcha... without it though I think it would look a bit empty 😆
Nice. Uke Alex thanks for sharing.
Absolutely wonderful, and I love this instrument!!!!😁👍💥
Gorgeous, thank you! 😊
Nice vid!

Oh! That *is* lovely.
Ok that was too short. More please!

Merry season 🕯 🎄 - Keep up your great work, Alex!
So I was actually shocked to find out I never made a video about my Big Island... I just assumed I had 😆
@@UkesWithAlex you sure? I thought you did! Or is it you only mentioned this was your privately owned one?
I mentioned mine but I didn't make a video about it...

Yes I imagine it is.
How about it in baritone ?????
I don't see it happening to be honest but I definitely would be into that.
I dont think I've ever seen maple used as a top for a Baritone Ukulele, I wonder if that would work?
Totally curious, why do you play your ULI T more over this? I know you have said you play the ULI T the most lately.

Would this be a good instrument for a beginner?
It's definitely surplus to requirements for a beginner but a beginner with medium to big hands would have no issue learning on this
@@UkesWithAlex I see..which instruments within your stock would you suggest more appropriate for a beginner Alex.
