Another great video by the goat 🎶🙌 thanks for the review Sammy!
Thank you for lending me your baby! Terrified and ecstatic as to what’s coming in 2024 🤤
I am definitely on team GREEN!!! Got to see and try a green comet a while ago, and totally loved it!
Another for the Green team! Thanks Marisa 💪
the green has definitely warmed on me 😊
Holly is a house player
That's a great review Sammy! I definitely prefer the blue I think.
Thanks Nasia, the blue is stunning!
I love the green 💚
Liking the green this much was not on my prediction 😅
Happy 2024! I much prefer the Green, which to my eyes looks more emerald. Such a beautiful ukulele. I plan to get one when I get to the point where I am comfortable and confident enough to create clear sounds! It is always on my bucket list.😀
Thanks Atsuko, big love to you!
Green for GO!!! Just stunning looks However I love the 4SB .... gotta save for it :-)))
Well we can’t compete for looks vs the 4SB (says a very biased Sammy 😂)
Happy New Year to you. Firmly on the green side, does appeal. Think it is very close in sound to the fireball. A10 has that price point clarity. 4SB has it on sound and price for me. Flight has something for all abilities and they do push the frontier for innovative and aesthetic front. Thanks for the demo and great start for the 2024.
Thanks Mike, yes it’s so close to the Fireball that it’s gonna come down to looks really! Happy new year to you too mate 🥰
Welcome to the family Holly! Excited to see more of her the coming year (👀😬)
But in all seriousness: The soundhole is really nice! Instinctively I would say it reminds me of air with how it flows like the wind but there's also a kanji esque vibe going on? Looks really nice whatever it is. Sound is different enough from the Fireball and I didn't really expect that much difference before listening. I think the trim on the bridge isn't a great choice but that's a small thing at the end of the day and it's a great looking ukulele otherwise.
Hey Jeroen, yes I get both those vibes with the side sound hole - it also looks like it could be musical? I dunno, I like it anyways 😅
The gold trim I’m not a fan of on the A10 but on here makes it a very christmassy ukulele to me, the fact it’s just gone December is probably swaying that 😅
@@4stringboy I see musical as well. It's great looking whatever it is! 😄I can see why the gold trim sways you that way haha
I'm definitely Team Blue. Great comparison at the end, thanks for that. I have played a couple of A10's and think they are one of the best Ukes you can buy for the money. I can't wait to try a 4SB when my local shop gets stock, as I think it's one of the most stylish Ukes out there and I like the sharp attack, this seems like a Uke you can really pound on. I'm a Worth guy though and I think the Worth Browns sound amazing on the Comet.
You’re absolutely right, the Worths do sound fantastic on this uke 😇 hoping I still get a chance to test ukelogics on it though 🤞
I still think I prefer the look of the blue, but I'll be honest that I was seriously considering getting a green comet around Christmas. I do wish they'd use the Nighthawk style fretmarkers on more models. It's probably my favorite design cue from the Nighthawk and as silly as it sounds, it's one of the things that's held me back from getting an upscale Flight (said the person who spends most of his time playing a Donner concert).
It doesn’t sound silly to me - you gotta love it! Strange how they only used those markers with the Nighthawk though, I feel like we’ll see them again in another offensive rock themed uke (hopefully)
Team Green!
YES JANE
Thank you for reviewing the Comet, Sammy! I prefer the green in bright light (I'd need sunglasses for the blue). I bet both would look gorgeous indoor in the evening - I wouldn't be able to choose. As for sound, the Comet sounds the same (to my ears) as the Fireball, much mellower than the 4SB. All in all, Flight makes beautiful instruments!
Oh, and the side soundhole looks like a partial Japanese onsen logo to me.
That’s why I love them! I’d still love to spend a good amount of time with the blue, just for research 🤭

@@4stringboy If you were to name the blue Comet, what would be be? Perhaps, Papa Smurf or Smurfette? 💙
@@mostlycrunchywendy3112 a Japanese onsen logo 🤣but it makes sense to me, too
Hi Sammy are Flight likely to bring out a pickup version of the 4SB anytime in the near future.
Hello mate, it hasn’t been discussed 🥲
I visited SUS a few weeks before you did. I saw them both and played the blue. My next uke will be a flight. Having a hard time deciding among the Comet, the Fireball and the your 4SB. I haven’t played the other two be hoping soon. Thoughts beyond the obvious?
Hey Denise! The Comet and Fireball fall under the same category, so it’s either a choice of do you want the sweet but quiet tones of mango, or do you need a bright and loud uke like the 4SB? They’re oceans apart I’m afraid, exactly how I wanted it to be 😂
Lucky for me that I do not have to decide (yet). I love the sound of the Fireball, but the clarity of the 4SB appeals to me even more. It is made to reflect Vejr. There is a raindrop quality in it.
The sound sample on the comet and fireball to my ears sound so similar. But im all team mango!
Totally, I mean I imagined as much but there’s still a good difference in person (to my ears) but that could be strings too, I need more research time 😂
Team Natural❤
Fireball crew!
Hi, i have a question, how much of your 4stringfriend content is in low g? Especially the fingerstylefursday stuff. Thanks
Very, very little I’m afraid, I am very much a high G player!
@@4stringboythanks, love your content ❤
My English is very bad, I hope you still understand my question. The ukulele with a wooden look has something like a fixed stand on the floor. what do you call it? I would love to buy something like that
Your English reads great to me! It’s a product made by a brand here in Denmark, I very much love them! This is it: openhagen.com/en-dk/products/attachable-ukulele-stand-black

@@4stringboy Thank you. Without even realizing it, I was looking for something exactly like that!
I’d love to see it as a baritone, it looks beautiful and sounds beautiful but I want it as a lower tone too
And ðe sound hole looks like a bird wing to me
Have you seen the Fireball baritone? That’s pretty close 😇
@@4stringboyI have! It’s sorely tempting because it really does sound amazing but here’s ðe kicker… team blue
@dbonk6264 hahahaha, I understand 🧡
You forgot what looks like a stand on the bottom
That’s a stick on ukulele stand from a Danish brand called ‘Openhagen’, most my ukes have them attached but it’s not a standard feature
Don't like the sound of the strings on the Comet. Of the ones you played, the 4SB sounded best; then the Fireball. The Comet was the least pleasant of the bunch for me. I think mango wood is too porous and ugly. Maybe I would like a painted mango ukulele.
The green is OK. I don't really like blue instruments either.
Tight grain spruce or cedar are my favorite solid tops. Mahogany is OK for back and sides. Rosewood is punchy and crisper sounding but not as much as maple. Ukuleles need more fullness with bass. Maple is too bright for backs and sides.
Aquila strings are good. I also like D'addario Titanium. They have less high frequency sounds from fingernails making contact and they're fuller on the low end. Pick the strings to suit the instrument. I haven't liked any fluorocarbon strings on instruments that I've played.
I don't like sound board mounted electronics. Mounting anything on the top interferes with the production of sound. Electronics should be mounted on the sides. Such is a really bad trend.
Thank you for demonstrating these instruments.
