In Nova Scotia, Canada the rules are quite different. -The pulls are 15 mins -We pull in dirt -We use swede jackets -Teams are 10 men (1700 pounds including boots and swedes) -We are allowed to perform a maneuver called the "Back Lock" in which the team turns the opposite direction of the other team and pulls with the rope across the back -To win one team must pull the "Anchor" or last man across the center line -All competition pulls have "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" playing on a loop
When the athlete shows a sportsmanship, the referee must also demonstrate professionalism. Making mistakes is inevitable. What is terrible is that you cannot face mistakes. Make TWIF a Convincing and Fair Unit. Please correct the referee's mistakes and let the athletes have valuable spirits. @MrDanielTynan A rope snapping under the tension that a good team can produce is capable of removing limbs. I've seen it first hand on the docks unfortunately :(
