Nice tip you gave for soldering (or 'soddering' for our US cousins) although you then added more... a pyramid is superior to a blob, but most importantly it has flowed. :) Nicely done.
In very few channels, one places the like before the video starts, because we know that the content is going to be excellent. this is one of those channels. congratulations dear. in a way i want that spreadsheet to reach $1000, but if that means the end of the series. i can't wish you luck.
Saw a video recently about solder suckers on another channel, and it was said there that these mechanical "pencil-style" suckers are known for ripping the pads off every once in a while - due to "recoil", supposedly. And that the electrical vacuum pump sucker guns are quite a bit safer. I wonder how much truth there is to it. Maybe Joey or someone else could comment on this?
"Some people might say this one looks better than the other..." Yes it does. Simply because you can clearly see solder joint and thus verify its conformance. Concave surface of solder joint with component leg sticking out is requirement for through hole component of IPC 7711/7721 standard as a condition of conformant repair. Besides, these solder blobs will not help mechanical properties of the joint either.
Awesome but be careful there are ps5 out and about that are going for 150.00 have one the problem isn't the hdmi nor the ssd 50% of the time it's the cd drive has basically wiped its own firmware out due to a bad cd drive firmware chip. Which because the drive is paired with the console you are basically SOL on ever getting the drive functioning again or updating the console
I was meaning to ask about leaded solder. I am trying to get some but without luck. So is it really hard to get or it's just sold under another name? I understand that more and more companies remove lead from the mix and replace it with other metals, so it's just a name out of habit or it's literally lead within the solder?
Joey, I see you have link to stuff to help get started in electronic repair, one of them is a yihua soldering iron. I found one that Google says is good are you familiar with yihua 8786d it has soldering iron and hot air station and is only $89
When you say some people would argue the lesser solder on the ground pins is better… are you referring to your old Rocket Boss? 😂🫣🤔 Great find, great fix as always Joey!
Think of soldering kind of like driving. There are multiple routes but all that matters is that you get to your destination safely.
Love this...
I really appreciate your positive attitude. Always makes me happy to see a new video from you . Thanks for taking the time to share with us Joey !
Your commentary, including "from an ocd standpoint" comments, make your videos for me. Please keep up the great work!
wow, the new board is smaller. Dope!

You can switch the drive with a replacement very easily. Then you just log into your PS account to pair it to your console.
