Most of the time, I'd load up a FF8 save in Fisherman's Horizon and we'd just chill to that. That was back in 1999. It's now 2016. I haven't seen or heard from that friend in almost 20 years. Then out of the blue, she messages me over Facebook, linking this song and mentioning that it reminded her of when we were kids. Listening to it now, I can understand her nostalgia.There's nothing more beautiful than a piece of music that's touched so many lives, played by musicians who truly love what they do.
A little late - but I love these kind of "reconnection" stories. I hope the memories are still just as vibrant and you are still connected on some level in 2024.
I've never played final fantasy 8 (I've played and beaten quite a few of the other ones though), but this song still gives me so much nostalgia, like I loved the game as a child. I guess that's just the power of Nubuo Uematsu (phenomenal cover by the way)
