Glad to hear it’s working! Now as far as the haze goes, it is probably because you are only working a small portion of the card and probably pushing pretty hard. You can try to even it out on the rest of the card, but that will take some elbow grease as well. The Meguiar’s is mildly abrasive, so try not to push overly hard for long periods of time in just one spot or you may get that haze. It is possible you took the entire top coat off of the card if you spent an excessively long time on it. Unfortunately, not all print lines will come out, but most cards will get better. I've tried using the Meguiars compound. It fixed a scratch on one card but another card still had the scratch and wont go away. I applied about it like 5 -10 times. It was on a bowman chrome card. Any tips?
Sometimes that is just the way it goes unfortunately. Some scratches are too deep and won’t completely come out. It should at a minimum make it less noticeable. Just keep applying coats until it’s not making a difference. You can also try Meguuair’s scratch-x. IT can help with deeper stuff, but be careful because it is a little more abrasive than the ultimate compound and can leave fogginess/rings. It can if it has a glossy top coat, but you need to berm very careful. I would not recommend MeGuiars on anything but chrome/Prizm finished cards. You can use Kurt’s wax on some of the older stuff. But always test it on a cheap card before using it on the one you care about.
If it gets hazy, in a spot you need to use meguiars over the entire card to even it out. Sometimes it can get hazy if you leave it on too long and it just needs to be wiped off.
You should be able to get it off. If you bought the Kurt’s set, you should be able to use the spray to get it off. if not, try a windex or rubbing alcohol solution and see if it comes off.
@@mercedesw1268 for the love of God cleaning something to bring the card back to the way it was , is not altering! When you start to modify the colors , numbers or make new changes to the card that is altering but that is not!!! As long as you don’t change serial numbers or add things tht don’t belong to that card you can v fixed and if the grading company picks up on it then they will grade it lower if not than heyyyy our cards got lucky when being fixed to the original card!!!!
You may have mentioned it in the video-if so, I apologize for missing it-but does Meguiar’s work on the back of chrome cards with roller lines? Is it safe? Thanks!
You have to be very careful on the back of cards because it can take the paint straight off if you push hard. It can definitely help with the roller lines, but I would practice on a card you don’t care about first.
lol I’m hoping you’re kidding. But if you’re not, be very careful on the surface of a paper card. Meguiars will take the paint right off of it. I would use Kurt’s only if the card has a natural gloss to it.
Gotcha. In the case, you may want to buy a cheap card from the same set and test Kurt’s and Meguiar’s on it first. You don’t want to ruin that card. That’s a grail card
Maybe, but no grading company will run their hands or cloth over your card and even if they do, they can't assume (Note SGC interview). I mean they could do the water test but I doubt their going to risk spraying down cards to see if water beads off of them. They won't even clean off dust before they grade them but I'm sure it's a liability thing. Secondly, it's cleaned off. It's not like Daniel waxed on and decided not to wax off. A 365NM blacklight can detect a crazy amount of stuff and it's still invisible. There's nothing there.
Can i use a dishwashing sponge like the light green squisht soft side so i can hear that beautiful squeaky cry of scratches and dirt leaving my card? 😂🎉
Print lines and smudges are not part of the card. Don’t see a problem with fixing a problem from the printer. Trimming cards is fraud, not cleaning it. Just my opinion, I’m no expert
@@nothingbutcardboard the interview with the PSA CEO said they will have a way to find out as well as gives notes on why things didn't get a 10. This video is proof. A few years later, we started figuring out how to assigning grades such as we now pay psa for, correct... They charge a heftey price and have been proven to be off half the time by resubbing. Its all hypocricy. These companies want you to belIieve you need them so they have a job and stay in business. Authenication is all any are good for and thats if they are qualified! I personally had a Dimaggio ball pass, then fail trying to get a second cert. So where are we... Hypocricy. No one needs these high priced ass clowns! Way back then, nor do they today. These slabbers have totally destroyed the hobby!!!! My point is. I am not sure I am that upset at people doing this stuff, just wish PSA was a lot better at detecting this stuff and just charge the grading fees but not grade it.
From what I have heard, none of the graders are able to detect cleaning. SGC came out and said that “they can’t catch what is not there”. So it is an interesting circumstance. Appreciate your comment and opinion!
@kareempies4341 Well you wishing people would get charged a fee without the service provided can be easily mistaken as you being upset despite you saying that you're not. Similar to asking my wife if she's mad and her saying "no" when she clearly is. You're not a fan, i get it because you think it's unethical even if you can't tell the difference if the cards were right in front of you. Yet you wish upon a company to charge people without providing the service paid for as a form of punishment which is actually unethical in every way possible. I don't mind the difference in opinions, I don't comprehend the negativity. It'd be like me getting upset that you sent a card in for grading that had no chance for 10 then having to watch you get irritated about it because you don't know why you got a 9.
@@nothingbutcardboard It's unethical. You aren't just cleaning the card, you are altering it. The Meguiars has fine abrasives in it. So you are actually "sanding" the glossy coat to remove the scratches which makes the glossy coat thinner. The card is altered and might discolor or fade easier. Grading and or selling a card like this is unethical and bad for the hobby.
@markmaestas1129 Cleaning is not altering. If they were filling print lines, trimming, adding color, it would be bad. Fact is they are just cleaning off post production issues caused by who knows what is not unethical. You can't will your way to a 10 if the card doesn't have the components of a 10. Stop the shaming. You can keep sending in thumb printed cards and slow rolled scratches but shaming people based on (it'll blow your mind) your opinion is unethical as they are not part of the card to begin with. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a cleaned card and one that hasn't been so unmount from your high horse and just leave people be. Washing my car because of dirt witbout disclosing it before a sale isn't unethical. Painting it without telling anyone it's been painted is.
@@markmaestas1129 appreciate you’re opinion, we are not saying it is ethical or unethical, just showing how to clean the card. Is it unethical to clean the card for your PC?
@juanpablobendana6235 so sports cards aren't like cars. There's not a lot protecting the chrome from anything. Cars have a clear coating on them, and that's why you can use this to buff out scratches. When you use car scratch remover on a card, the abrasive compounds break down the surfaces of the card, and the chemicals in the remover can interact with the card over time. This used to happen to Topps Chrome cards in the 90s because the ink they used would chemically interact with the chrome. You're never going to be able to get rid of ALL surface scratches. Sometimes, a scratch is just too deep and you're SOL. But for minor to moderate scratches, all you really need is Kurt's card wax and polish, a little time, patience, and elbow grease.
@@codking82 I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing it in anything but a chrome surface (front of card). Sorry you’ve had a bad experience, but it works very well on Prizm and chrome cards.
@@codking82 did you watch the video? It is for the front of the card. It is near impossible to fix the back of the card. If you put rings on the back of the card you’re SOL.
What you're saying is your opinion and your entitled to it. But unless you can tell if a card has been cleaned or not, then it's just your personal moral compass talking. You don't have to partake, but you don't get to decide what is right or wrong when nobody can actually tell if a card has been cleaned or not. Nope, not PSA, not BGS, not SGC, not CGC and not even Meguire's can tell if you used their products or not. You're basically looking for ghosts.

Hope this helps

I did notoce some fogginess rings with the compound but was able to get it out. Everything Im trying out is on base cards that arent worth anything. Just want to make sure I get the technique down before applying to any valuable cards.
Does this work on metal cards like the celebrations metal charizard card? I believe it’s painted
@@NathanPhillipsPhoto honestly I’m not sure. Would be worth testing on a cheaper card though
How did you remove the "ring" from applying several coats of the compound? @@sportsdogg7749
Do you have any success in dealing with heavy print lines going across the entire card…are those even fixable using these applications?
They will be better, but most thick print lines will not completely come out
Hello sir may ask where would it be possible to get cards clean and polish rather doing it yourself and yes I know but rather have an expert. Do you know any website or person who can help? Thank you
Hey Carlos, @manger8882 may be able to help you out. He does great work (better than I do). I’m not sure of his pricing, but he cleans cards professionally for other people. Here is his channel:

im looking for light pen mark to be removed on the back of a card... plz advise ✌🏼
Will this work on vintage cards ?
It can if it has a glossy top coat, but you need to berm very careful. I would not recommend MeGuiars on anything but chrome/Prizm finished cards. You can use Kurt’s wax on some of the older stuff. But always test it on a cheap card before using it on the one you care about.
So do you use Meguiars and Kurt’s or just one?
Typically Kurt’s first and then Meguiars
Is there any way to fix the haze spot from not using Kurt’s card care first?
If it gets hazy, in a spot you need to use meguiars over the entire card to even it out. Sometimes it can get hazy if you leave it on too long and it just needs to be wiped off.
How many cards do you usally get through per tin?
I’m sorry, what do you mean per tin?
The little container that the kurts wax comes in
@@Sam-kv5ul it lasts a really long time. Probably 200+ cards or so

@@nothingbutcardboard thank you for response
Do you know how to fix a big ass dent on a card?
Dumb question but this method works on the back of Prizm cards as well right?
It can help, but you have to be careful on non chrome/prizm surfaces because it is abrasive and can take some paint off if you push too hard
@@nothingbutcardboardyou got any videos of attempting the back surface?
Hey i got the haze. Is that permanent? 😢
You should be able to get it off. If you bought the Kurt’s set, you should be able to use the spray to get it off. if not, try a windex or rubbing alcohol solution and see if it comes off.
Ok thanks. I did actually end up using a couple layers of kurts wax it did the trick.
Can Kurt Card care remove dimples
No it cannot unfortunately
Yes, but you could see the high and low spots now which will make it obvious to PSA that you alter the card
Not quite sure what you mean. It actually came back a PSA 10
@@mercedesw1268 for the love of God cleaning something to bring the card back to the way it was , is not altering! When you start to modify the colors , numbers or make new changes to the card that is altering but that is not!!! Not when they are valuable cards and something might hv happen by accident so I called a bunch of card collectors and they say that’s why their is a fix to what happens to the cards now!!! As long as you don’t change serial numbers or add things tht don’t belong to that card you can v fixed and if the grading company picks up on it then they will grade it lower if not than heyyyy our cards got lucky when being fixed to the original card!!!!
Does this work for Kabooms? 😅
@@anthonytoto4774 lol probably not, but let me know if you try ;)
You may have mentioned it in the video-if so, I apologize for missing it-but does Meguiar’s work on the back of chrome cards with roller lines? Is it safe? Thanks!
You have to be very careful on the back of cards because it can take the paint straight off if you push hard. It can definitely help with the roller lines, but I would practice on a card you don’t care about first.
It looks like 2 colors on the side

I’m using this to repair a rookie Wayne Gretzky card, hope it actually works lol
lol I’m hoping you’re kidding. But if you’re not, be very careful on the surface of a paper card. Meguiars will take the paint right off of it. I would use Kurt’s only if the card has a natural gloss to it.
@@nothingbutcardboard thank you for the tip, will keep it under mind and I’ll let you know how it goes, also I’m not kidding lol
Gotcha. In the case, you may want to buy a cheap card from the same set and test Kurt’s and Meguiar’s on it first. You don’t want to ruin that card. That’s a grail card
It is absolutely detectable. Ever run your hand or a dry cloth across a fresh waxed car surface ?
It depends on the type of card. The Optic/chrome type cards have that kind of finish to begin with
ruclips.net/video/LPSF7XQkwCs/видео.html
This is what SGC had to say about it.
Any tips for getting out a slight crease?
The only success I’ve seen for removing creases is soaking cards.
@@nothingbutcardboard thats what ive seen too
Doesn't work unless you run them through the carwash afterwards and push the button for the carnauba wax.
Lol
Compound is not wax. It will actually remove wax. If you need something less aggressive use machine polish. It's a step down from compound.

PSA is deactivating/not allowing cards with outside chemicals on them. Ungradeable SMH
@@anthonyp2297 they don’t actually have a way of telling. That card came back a PSA 10
@@nothingbutcardboard the interview with the PSA CEO said they will have a way to find out as well as gives notes on why things didn't get a 10. This video is proof. Only a matter of time till this one gets deactivated. I'd even make a friendly wager if your interested. PSA isn't gonna let their company grade cards if they don't know what happens to the cards long term with all these mystery goo's and chemicals.
Well, everyoone has their opinion... Heres the deal and im sure the card slab bozos will eventually follow suit. Its a no no to clean the crap of an coin. However, if you pay them, they will remove anything you want with the same same stuff that if you used it and submitted, you receive a slab saying cleaned or rough clean. Now isnt that hypocritical!!! If thats the, if you cracked the case and resubmitted to another company, you should come back with a cleaned coin correct??? The other end is that, you arent paid, so your not a professional., when and how did the graders concoct there mystery fluids ahhh you tube??? Too much hypocricy in the collecting word. Imho, if its yours you should be able to do whatever you want. If you ever go to sell, honest disclosure. Its just a bunch of bs!!! These oriental cards in most cases are scratched to crap and dinged right out of a pack that was in a bax that cost 40 bucks plus with tax. In first grade I bought my first pack of TOPPS baseball cards. NINE CENTS for the pack! No one gave a hoot about grading and slabbing. Card collecting is still a childs hobby, but how many first graders are going to pull 2 andrew jacksons out of their pocket while stopping at the store on their way home from school...
If your subbing cards without using Kurt’s…your throwing away money… use it with every card I sub…always 9s and 10s 👌🏼
How long do you wait to sleeve cards after polishing them?
@AThomp2487 usually you can put them in a sleeve within a minute or so
Yeah or just don't sub damaged cards. I don't clean with this crap and my last PSA sub I got 24 10's out of 31 cards.

I am not sure I am that upset at people doing this stuff, just wish PSA was a lot better at detecting this stuff and just charge the grading fees but not grade it.
Weird thing to get upset about 😂
From what I have heard, none of the graders are able to detect cleaning. SGC came out and said that “they can’t catch what is not there”. So it is an interesting circumstance. Appreciate your comment and opinion!
@@lmst3ls guess you struggle with reading , said I am not upset
Here’s a thought, focus that energy on the manufacture for having these issues on pack fresh cards.
this should be illegal, you are altering the card and it should not be submitted for grading, shame on you!
Like I said, it is very controversial. What is your opinion on doing this for PC Cards?
Is it unethical to clean the card for your PC?
lmao “illegal”
"Why is my PSA 10 T-Law turning green?"
This. This is why.
Appreciate the comment
care to elaborate...
Do not use this approach
Especially on backs of cards
It creates rings. You can’t remove them. Bad video

You really shouldn’t be showing this… it’s unethical and bordering on fraud
Is it unethical to clean PC Cards?
Is it unethical to wax your car before you sell it?
This is no different than if you were selling a car - wouldn't you clean it up before you sold it? THey touch up and restore paintings all the time.
Lol as is no warranty. Cards have gotten too serious. It's his card he can do whatever he wants
Oil paintings are restored all the time. Why not do it to cards?
