So much history in our country to see and learn from. Growing up we all wished there were more field trips to really see what the words had described Thank you for sharing. Just know we are all still praying for you!.
Third time’s a charm! Good luck with this lender! I’m enjoying your exploring the region, love the local history! Thank you for the updates and local flavor!
You are such a good teacher! I always enjoy these “field trip” videos! I learn so much! But I can hardly wait till you FINALLY close on the house!! I sure hope it will actually go through this time! After all the thousands of old houses in the south that I’ve looked at on the internet in the last 8 months, I feel like yours is NOT the first one I’ve seen that does not have heat on the upper floor. I’m really surprised that your original lender’s appraiser had a problem with this. I don’t think it’s that unusual! Glad you got another lender! I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that you will successfully close on the first!! Best, Jan
It took three hours to get to the other end of the road. Imagine how long the travelers of old must have taken and how bad the road was in foul weather.
Another fun field trip. I'm so excited that things have taken a turn for the better with the house. I bet you are, too. Looking forward to the next video. Have a great weekend 😊
😂The school of hard knots!😂 Funny! I must say, you two make awesome tour guides, BUT, OH HAPPY DAY it will be once we get to see you work your magic on this long awaited house! 🎉💕 Thank you, fine folks, for thinking of us viewers, and taking the time to share these amazing glimpses of the bygone era. Prayers and many blessings, Vancouver WA 🙏🌲💕
'Creative lending'.. Love it! You must be getting so frustrated with the whole process. I do so hope you have good news when we next see both of you. Here in the UK I am about to get my house valued with a view to selling. I hope to move to a Grade 2 listed property (I dream of that) but that is a long time away. Good luck with the house and thank you for yet another history lesson. Have a wonderful weekend.
Loved your trip to Charles Town. Very interesting video. I think I could spend weeks just traveling around North and South Carolina. Maybe some day. Sounds as if your wait is about over for your grand Victorian. I’m so glad for you both. Till next time. 🙏🙋♀️
Im glad things are falling into place for you the waiting is hard. Will be great to see what comes but I must say I have enjoyed your trips around very much. Thank you.
Oh no...something tells me that your house hasn't closed yet. Edit: I'm so happy that it looks good for July 1st. Best of luck and thank you so much for another fun video!
Our closing person sent an email to all parties involved asking if we can close on time. Everyone came back with a positive response. Regardless, we're going out Saturday to film another historic site just in case we can't close.
@@1834RestorationHouse If it does close, we'll all celebrate! But I'd love to see another historic site. Not being able to travel this year has been so boring and your videos are fascinating.
I've got my fingers crossed with you! Thanks again for another field trip! Have you ever been to Rhode Island? I think you'd love the architecture and historical sites here.
I really appreciate your videos and know you have to be so ready to get that house. At this point I imagine I would have been irate by now, but at least they sounded like the lenders tried to help.
Yes, they were very good at navigating the whole process. I the end, it was the lack lack of heat upstairs that stopped them from completing the closing. We're still on track to close July 1'st with the new lender.
@@1834RestorationHouse I'm sure that everyone is just as excited as I to see you get the house and look forward to the hidden finds (good ones anyway) that may have been waiting to be rediscovered for years. What stories those walls could tell.
I am amazed that lenders can be so picky about a house that predates their own heartbeats! But I'm thrilled for July 1st! About the round brick thingy. . . check out YT Townsends cuz he built an oven and hes great with historical information...and it would be more likely that same time period. I envy you both being in Greenville area...someplace I have thought about living, also! In fact, that little Victorian cottage with the hair salon still shows up in my Zillow feed. Price reduced! It was funny ti see you tour that, and my first thought was that it LOOKED familiar to me...a couple days later it popped up in my feed. 😆
@@1834RestorationHouse maybe lenders overly scrutinizing the unfinished 2nd floor and repairs? I thought it to be perfectly priced, and even more so at reduced price!

Yay! It will be a sweet day when the keys are in your hands and you unlock the door to your new home🤗🇨🇦♥️. Can't wait!
We almost don't dare to get excited......yet!
Thanks again for another entertaining update. You two must have the patience of saints!

I think we're up to #5 now. Thanks for watching!

We have a good feeling about this one!
Look at it this way, you've been given time to get to know your neighborhood before all the "hard work & no time" begins... Field Trip!
Thanks for giving us an adventure.
Our pleasure!
Great to see the other 'end of the road'...
Let us hope that this also applies to your house closing!
Wonderful video...
Cheers M&J!

Praying for you 🙏🏽! Interesting video. God only knows the hardships that people endured in those days.

Thanks Heidi! We went out today and filmed a motel from 1815. We'll be sharing that one soon!

All of the houses that we toured have been sold, except for that one. Very strange that it hasn't!

Maybe a bread oven xx that's more than likely the kitchen which often had large fireplaces xx❤️
Great idea!!
School of hard knots, lol.
Fingers crossed 🤞.
Good Stuff! enjoyed the history lesson.
Billow owns it now but the oldest tea bushes in the USA are in Charleston.

Love the field trips but am anxious to see what you do to the house. I pray it will happen on July 1st, this must be very nerve wracking for you.
It's been really frustrating, yes. At this point I can't imagine what else might get in the way.
it looks like a well to me
