They added quite a bit at thee intro of Locust Star by this point that they then removed for the studio track. I guess they might of wanted thee abrupt stop before the scream and distorted guitars, transitioning into the scream, such as in the Locust Star we know today, and/or they might of wanted a shorter song. I like this unheard added depth at the start of the song in this live performance, but feel as if that depth makes the explosion of the start of the first verse less impactful. It also sounds like a lot of the verse lyrics may be different. Dave Edwardson's vocal parts are almost entirely different for Locust Star - his timing too is a lot of the time harmonizing instead of leading.
