Thank you John, fall seems to have turned to winter now 😂. The oak burl handle looks great. The knife is holding up pretty well too. Erik did a great job. Thanks for watching mate.
Thank you Tim, I am honoured! I will be very interested to see how the holds up to your work use testing. If the edge holds up, it could be worth backing up the bevels. A bit time consuming! - but naturally I expect you can get the best possible performance by putting your touch on the blade. So if somehow I could entice you, I think a review of the steel from the sharpener's perspective would fairly complete the comprehensive knife review :D I think it is a nice steel to sharpen; user friendly.
The edge is certainly holding up a lot better than the last couple of knives that I have taken into work. The stanlyvex seems to be holding up pretty nicely. Thanks again mate.
Wonderful as always Tim bro ! ..Blessings for an awesome weekend my friend !! ..that hand made knife looks like top kit !! Bless Unni ! 🐾 The sheath is so well hand crafted ..and the blade itself is awesome !! ..what a top piece !! ..superb !!
Sorry to disappoint mate but I don't have much of an option. All of my laminated Mora blades are on old knives that I collect rather than use. I did have one that I used many years ago. I seem to remember finding it difficult to sharpen, but that could have just been me 🤣. It was a long time ago. Thanks for watching mate.
No it's only 27 mate😂. The sheath is what they call a half sheath (puolituppi) here in Finland. It's not uncommon here, expecially here in Lapland. Thanks for watching mate.
Nice little knife with a few Puukko traits, but is not a Puukko, neither knives in this video are Puukko’s. Having said that, the knife maker put his heart and soul into making that build. He should’ve very proud of his workmanship. You should send him a book in return, that discusses what makes a Puukko. “All Puukko’s are knives, not all knives are Puukko’s.” I don’t remember where I read that, but it is a fact, something non-Finnish people should learn especially the bushcraft people that profess knowledge but, demonstrate very little real life experience in the outdoors.
I recently made a video about what makes a puukko. I basically asked a lot of questions and gave no answers or opinions. I feel that was a good idea 😂. Wat Erik did with this knife was made a knife the way he likes to make knives but in a puukko style. This kind of clamshell with a pinned tang I certainly have never seen on a Finnish knife. I have to say he did a fantastic job.
I just bought a whole load of firewood.. spruce.. but whatever !! lol.. at least it is chopped sweet !! ..Unni always makes me laugh !!.. bless her .. yeah I have never made a knife ..but it must be an amazing learning curve !!
Unni is always up to mischief in these videos, and inn general when we are outdoors. It's a nice little knife, looks like a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. Thanks for watching mate.
