Lyrics:
You’ve got a good heart
But I know it changes
A restless tide, untameable
You came my way
And I knew a storm could come too
You’d lift me high or let me fall
But I took your hand
Promised I’d withstand
Any blaze you blew my way
Cos something inside
It solidified
And I knew I’d always stay
You can build me up
You can tear me down
You can try but
I’m unbreakable
You can do your best
But I’ll stand the test
You’ll find that
I’m unshakeable
When the fire’s burned
When the wind has blown
When the water’s dried
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone
You say we’re perfect
A perfect family
You hold us close for the world to see
And when I say
You’re the only one I’ve ever loved
I mean those words truthfully
But I know
Without my son your love
could disappear
And no it isn’t fair
But I don’t care
Cos my love will still be here
You can build me up
You can tear me down
You can try but
I’m unbreakable
You can do your best
But I’ll stand the test
You’ll find that
I’m unshakeable
When the fire’s burned
The wind has blown
The water’s dried
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone
Soon I’ll have to go
I’ll never see him grow
But I hope my son will know
He’ll never be alone
Cos like a river runs dry
And leaves its scars behind
I’ll be by your side
Cos my love is set in stone
YEAAAAAHHHH
(with riffing)
You can build me up
You can tear me down
You can try but
I’m unbreakable
You can do your best
But I’ll stand the test
You’ll find that
I’m unshakeable
The fire’s burned
The wind has blown
The water’s dried
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone
Can’t break me
Can’t break me
Stone
Can’t break me
Can’t break me
Stone
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone

because i’m a history guru fun fact, she actually died 12 days after her son was born, not right after the birth (although both are still sad) AND they didn’t even know she was sick until the day before she died, she was a good actor.
Sadly they did know she was sick, but still forced her to go to the baby’s christening..
Edit: Honestly this was a year ago. I read this fact from a random biography, now I know that I got misinformed since the mothers weren’t expected to even go in the first place.
"You're sick ? Oh well, we don't care."
I’m not a history guru but I see so many people who are one so I casually learn history along the way lol
:(
@@sage6351 frankly. that fact makes Henry even more disgusting.
I love this song. So much. Often when you hear people say "Heart of Stone" they mean cold, empty, and emotionless, but in this version "Heart of Stone" means that the love she feels for those around her is strong and permanent. It's set in stone and will withstand anything.
Yes! I love the the double meaning that phrase can have-true for history too-events and people are always more complex than singular.
its hard to break in but when it does, its there to stay

Interesting thought!
Jane: “And when I say you’re the only one I’ve ever loved-“
Edward, the royal Seymours, Mary, Elizabeth, in unison: _Rude._
I can only imagine 😂
Edward was the favorite child of henry...
Fr tho so rude, Henry called me “love” once, that would instantly count me as his favorite 😒
@@KHowardishereandthefunsbegun Kathy yea 😭 like fr girl all the shit you got was so bad for u weren't u like 19??
@@_mylo_xyloto_1816 Yup, sadly I was really young
This sucks even more when you realize Edward (her son) died really young
And at the time there was no cure but that would mean Elizabeth would have never became Englands greatest monarch
I know right, poor Jane died for nothing. In fact it’s a damn shame Henry didn’t know Elizabeth would be such a successful & popular monarch, would have saved not just Anne’s life but Jane’s and Katherine Howard’s also 😕
@@melissam597 I doubt Henry would really care about how good of a queen Elizabeth would be, as he didn't *just* want a child that would be a good ruler, he specifically wanted a son. Male heirs were far easier to get accepted by the public as women were still seen how they are portrayed in the bible, as wives and second-class citizens to be ruled over by the powerful men and their husbands at that time, and even if the public were satisfied with even having a women as queen, Elizabeth's rule would still have been very fragile because queens, if they ever ruled in the first place, would be usurped by their husbands, if they took one, because husbands ruled over their wives in that time, which could well be why Elizabeth I never married in the first place.
@@ChrysanthemumLelie i know it's been months but didn't Mary rule over her husband?
For me personally, i don’t really think that is sucks, cause after he died, he will finaly hug and meet his mother on heaven
This song sounds like it's easy to sing, but it isn't actually. Like, how can she slay all of those high notes.
Yes! I tried to sing this and even in the "easier" notes, I had to watch my voice control like wtf?!
YES
The high notes aren't really hard for me
I'm trying to sing loud but I'm not home alone rn
I can do the really high notes, not the low ones
No face I can I sing it’s easy for me the notes are easy for me
They’re definitely hinting at a cast recording
Doubt it, what would be the point?
Maria-Louisa Brennan there’s a new cast
Maria-Louisa Brennan | There have been multiple new casts and they have moved to whole other continents and they didn’t get recordings, however, most shows, if it gets to broadway have gotten new cast recordings. Ex. Be More Chill. However, I’m not entirely sure.
They should at least do one for Broadway at the very least: Especially since the Broadway queens are extremely talented and I would love to hear a professional recording of Abby Mueller singing Heart of Stone, Britnay Mack singing Get Down, Sam Pauly All You Wanna Do etc
This aged well

INTO HAUS OF HOLBEIN
Fr tho, like NOT THE BEST TIME-
Haus of Holbein’s pretty much cringe of the modern generation. Dark comedies exaggerated.
@@guardianofpeace6393 Y E S
@@maganeng3063 WOSH ANNE
@@guardianofpeace6393 in my opinion, haus of holbein's a really fun song.
So I realized something, each song from the characters have also meanings that can help.
No Way ; Catherine of Aragon
-her song can mean that no matter how much you are willing to sacrifice for the person/people you love, its either you won't get anything back or instead, speech of hate. And when they get too far, you decide that you won't do anything about it, and that everything they have done you will eventually come back to them.
In conclusion: karma's gonna come collect their debt.
Don't Lose Your Head ; Anne Boleyn
-her song can mean that when people expect you to do something you don't want to, you do it anyways but not in the way they want you to do it. And in the end when they get the bad luck, they will blame everything in you. But what were you meant to do anyway?
In conclusion: do things your own way, and shrug it off if people judge you for it.
Heart of Stone ; Jane Seymour
-her song can mean that even in the end, everything will have to come to pass. No matter how much you want the moment to remain, you'll have to eventually let go physically, but let the moment roam in you spiritually and mentally.
In conclusion: everything will come to an end someday, but your memory of it won't if you just cherish the moment so much.
Get Down ; Anna of Cleves
-her song can mean that even if you get dumped because of your looks, you dont have to change for other people because your demeanor is what matters most. "No stupid fat king to tell me what to do!"
In conclusion: be you, thats the greatest point of yourself you can ever be.
All You Wanna Do ; Kathryn Howard
-her song can mean that people are deceitful, and that they can break your trust with just a bad intention that would break you down, and eventually leave you in the dirt.
In conclusion: trust nobody until they can be truly trusted.
I Don't Need Your Love ; Catherine Parr
-her song can mean that even if you love a person so much, you'd have to possibly let them go for the better.
In conclusion: it will be you in the end, and youre gonna have to let go at some point.
Is that a Set it Off reference

BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHH IM DEADDDD
Relatable
I CAN’T-
I’m reading a book about Jane Seymour right now, and I don’t know how accurate of a portrayal it is, but it has her as such a nice and sweet hearted woman who also has no room for BS in her life. She never speaks bad about anyone, and she’s polite and kind and always has a smart comment to make
very accurate! jane was the sweetest woman😊
Do you think Henry VIII really loved her, or only because she gave him a son?
@@JosephDutra the book actually has her mention that she fears he only loves her for her ability to give him a son! He is very sweet to her though, but I personally believe he only loved her for Edward
Ik it’s 2 years later but is it it done? If it is lemme know the name!
@@emmawiley2452 Part of the Six Tudor wives set? I've just started book 1.
Okay. I just imagined this scene and got straight chills for about a minute.
So imagine the first half of the song is Jane and Henry going through the pregnancy hopeful.
And then at some point she ends up in a bed because she's too weak to move after losing so much energy from the pushing.
And then let's say Henry goes to talk to the midwife about having the baby removed by cutting because I'm pretty sure that's apparently what happened irl.
And then the procedure is done and she's dying and holding her son as she says,
"Soon I'll have to go, I'll never see him grow."
And etc.
And then Henry comes back and holds her hand and right before she belts that gorgeous note where there's a key change, you see her hand fall out of Henry's hand before the stage goes completely dark. (Let's say that happens at 3:49)
And then in this time, the singer gets out of the bed and takes whatever fake belly they're wearing off and is replaced by another person in the bed.
And when she belts the note for the key change, the lights come back on and she is standing in the front of the stage, singing to the audience with a spotlight.
At some point she ends up going over to the bed where her body is and watches Henry mourn while holding her son.
Big sad. The singer now represents the spirit of herself.
Boom. Chills
Edit: Hi me from the future 4/27/21. So I did some research afterwards and pretty sure she didn't get a C Section. Let's just say that instead of that, she gives birth successfully but ends up dying soon afterwards, with the hand scene still in.
I-
I regret hitting read more..
What's wrong with you? Looking over her dead body? Creepy

I'm only doing passing history because of six and Hamilton
Honestly, as I’ve listened to both those musicals I thought “Where were you guys when I needed you in high school?!”
I'm glad I watched them after grade 7 social studies class cause I would've been so confused with all of the history inside jokes.
I'm glad I got to know the American's side of the war cause we studied on the British.
I'm also glad I learned more about the wives cause my teacher merely said that Henry was a pretty douchey guy who had 6 wives (if not more if I recall).
@@_Paint_brush_000 Well, he only had six wives as far as I know. However, he also had many, many mistresses. I hear he was planning on taking a seventh wife before he died. Now, I’m no historian so take all of this with a grain of salt.

Can Jane just be my favourite queen for the soul fact that she was a good person?
Absolutely! There’re no rules for selecting your personal favorite character. She’s mine too.
Mine Parr but Jane is second this is my list Parr, Seymour, Boylen, Howard, Cleves, Aragon
Jane has one of the best songs and is the Eliza of Six Just Like Eliza is the Jane of Hamilton the would be best friends
@@lauren5737 Parr is second on my list. In terms of the musical I feel like she’s the most down-to-earth and level-headed member of the group. She balances out all of the energy and it’s kind of like a breath of fresh air.
@@lauren5737 I highly recommend you check out Ayegee_Art on Instagram. She drew a depiction of Jane meeting Eliza in the afterlife. It’s really sweet!
I just realized: when she says "something inside, it solidified" it could mean her heart of "stone", but what if she was talking about her son growing inside her?
This is a valid fucking question...
That’s what I love about musical theater (and art in general)! Different elements can be interpreted in many different ways. I really like that interpretation because it indicates to me that she stayed more for her son than for Henry.
@@avalasialove Yeah like in Six history can be changed to his story when it says “too many years lost in history”

I'm convinced Natalie Paris is Jane Seymour reincarnated you can't tell me otherwise
This song is so sweet! I love the emotion in this song! It really pops!😊
Watched this live yesterday and its so much more powerful watching Natalie perform this in person is so much more moving.
This song reminds me of Non Stop playing after Dear Theodosia-
This is one of my favorite songs in this show. I’d love to be in a musical like this one day
Fun fact (not so relatad to Jane, but still): Jane moved Henry on to make up with his first daughter Mary, daughter of Catherine Aragon. After Jane died, Mary acted as a chief mourner at the funeral and became the god mother of her half brother. There relationship wasn’t really good later on tho, since Edward was also a Protestant like Henry and Mary stayed a Catholic.
I will dedicate this song to my father and his. Family for all the kisses that humiliated me, my mom and my younger brother for all the times I tear down for each of the tears that were shed for each of the blows and arguments that broke this family for the words and feelings that locked themselves in El Cajon of Oblivion and for my heart of stone in which the immense love I have for my father to whom I once had
This songs REALLY LIKE REALLY reminds me of Endeavor and his wife from BNHA the lyrics are just a replica of their relationship and life story together!! Someone please make an edit with this song!! 😩👏😂
ikr
Omg yes
PERFECT!! Yes!!! We need an animatic!!!
Oh god this is fitting for them
this song is about a real event- this musical isnt fictional-, please dont tell me yall used all you wanna do for edits-
I love how at first she was singing about her love for Henry, but at the end she sings more about her love for her son ❤️ (cus Henry was an abusive little prick ❤️)
"Little" was probably also the size of his you-know-what.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 funny how we all discuss that but never Henry's little p-
Rest in peace, your majesty.
I love this song so much
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATALIE AND MAIYA!
im dancing to this song for my ballet recital and when i heard it, it just hit hard
She is the best. Her pitch perfection out beats!
I love Natalie Parises voice. :)
I cry at the moment of the end
It sounds so much like Its quiet uptown and they're both about a mother losing a son I can't-
Eliza's POV?
This is one of the few songs that I instantly start crying no matter what context or where I hear it, and no, I don't mean getting teary-eyed, full on ugly sobbing. The only two other songs that manage to do that to me are proud corazon from Coco and I'm in Love with my best friend by a guy whom I don't remember his name.
I love this song. It makes me sob. Jane Seymour was probably the only one who had a happy marriage.
It’s interesting how Jane is the only wife shown to have affection for Henry. Probably because he treated her the best in their short marriage for giving him his long awaited son.
Me:crying my fricking eyes out..
One song later: wELcoMe To Ze HoUSe oF hOlbIEN
welcome to the house!
to the Haus of Holbein!
Natalie so underrated. ❤️ Massive Fan. X
dude this hits differently when you try to imagine this is a song of a covid19 pregnant patient trying to deliver her son even though she might die while her husband is in quarantine next to them
Thank you for this SIx!
