I'm really enjoying these comparisons between the cheaper replica and the higher priced versions, it really does show the differentiation in materials, design and quality control. It's also a great way for those who may not be able to afford the higher end to know if the cheaper version is worth the money. Great review as always.
I had the Havenhurst and I didn't like it because it didn't hold my cards in the holster properly. They would slip out too easily. SO I purchased the Ekster Wallet and I adore it. I do want to move to a MagSafe wallet for those days I don't need a large wallet (gonna check out your review shortly).
I found your videos the other day and just subbed cause you provide great reviews! Have you ever gotten your hands on the Strapo Expandable Wallet? I didn't see it on your website or YT playlist, but if you have, can you share your thoughts on it?
I guess you get what you pay for. I would choose the Ekster if I were interested in this type of wallet. My only concern about this type of wallet is how long will those ejector mechanisms last?
Hello from Jacksonville Florida, I had mentioned it to you in the past and now I am telling you again, you need to make a top 10 of the wallets with easy access cards. Almost all the ones I have have that function and I recently got one that you reviewed from Mexico and I've been using it for 3 weeks and it still smells strongly of leather.
I have it - exact same issues. Just another rebranded Hayvenhurst. They are all the same wallet sourced from China and companies just pay to put their own logo on it. They are $2~$5 Aliexpress wallets rebranded.
I wouldn't get any of the trigger wallets made in China, they all have reliability issues. Secrid, Fantom, Grip6 and Groove are better built and more reliable if you're looking for wallets with a fanning ability.
How I wish I'm one of the lucky pickers Sir. So hard to buy these wallets here in the Philippines with all the overseas shipping and credit card info's that I don't have. 😅
Good video but I have to say that I bought the more expensive Ekster in this video and the lifter mechanism failed after about 7 months of normal use. My wallet is in great condition other than the inoperable lifter which pretty much makes the wallet useless and I'm not the only one that's experienced this. Ekster has a 1 year warrently but I purchased mine from Amazon and Ekster doesn't honer the warrently if you don't purchase from their website unfortunately. The design is flawed for long term reliability in my opinion.
@@walletopia that's because fanning wallets like the Secrid and Fantom have a fanning mechanism with a single moving part that just pivots back and forth. On the other hand, the Ekster trigger type wallets are much more prone to failure because there are multiple moving plastic parts inside. I've taken one apart before and was surprised at how poorly engineered it was - I don't think they were ever meant to last.
While I really like the concept of these wallets. If you ever get a metal credit card then the cards can fall off without a lot of effort. For flat plastic credit cards I think the ekster is a good wallet but for metal cards I wouldn't really trust it.
It seems that the Hayvenhurst is a blatant copycat of the Ekster wallet. Also, the felt friction pad inside the case which is used is patented by SECRID. I would suggest making a disclaimer at the beginning (or delete the video). just to keep your channel authentic :).
Hmmm, didn’t know that! I have several patents and they’re only as good as their first successful defense in court. Otherwise, people rip off each other all the time. And yes, Havenhurst is going after the cheaper , lower quality market Ekster is in.
The lifter mechanism on the Ekster is plastic garbage. Mine broke after 2 weeks when I dropped it only 3 ft from the ground and it landed flat not even on an edge. They do not have a lifetime warranty so if you pay $200 for the leather Parliament fortuna which I did It's definitely not worth it. The customer service is trash as well. Buy American made!

Does the carbon fiber ekster scratch as easily as their aluminum ones?
Is there a review between an all leather Ekster and this carbon fiber version?

I have used one for 3 years now, and it is still nice and smooth.
You said thats the senate wallet but isnt it just the basic cardholder one? My senate has a leather plate not a metal 1??

I love the Ekster! 😍
Thanks for the review. . . .
😀
My pleasure 😊
What's your opinion on the code 118 smart wallet?

Yes, this has been a persistent issue I’ve heard reports about over time. Can’t say I’ve heard the same problems with SECRID.

At the present rate of new subscribers, it should be around 2025 for the 'wallet giveaway' ! 🤣
Haha, I hope it picks up!!
Ekster made in USA?
No, in China
How I wish it's from USA!

Why does the intro giveaway clip look so janky?
FPS mismatch, I’m correcting it.

I prefer wallets that hide the cash.
First like!
