  • Here it is!
The Shepherd's Boy in the style of Dudley Simpson's 1976 music. There's two organ's, several woodwinds, and a french horn sound that's more prominent this time, to fit in with the vibe of Dudley Simpson's Hand of Fear and Deadly Assassin soundtracks.
I'll let you come up with your own story about how or why the Doctor might be trapped in a confession dial during the events of these stories, and why he might be determined to break out of it.
But I envisage this taking place during, or at the end of, The Deadly Assassin.
For that reason, it's likely to involve Sarah-Jane. Let's hear your thoughts on how this could happen!
Was the Doctor stuck in the matrix for eternity? Or somewhere else?
Did the Master pluck Sarah-Jane away as part of some malevolent scheme then send the Doctor into a confession dial? Was it Chancellor Goth's plan to trap the Doctor instead? Why?
    Let your imagination run wild!

It's really easy to imagine Tom Baker in Heaven Sent with how similar he and Peter Capaldi are imo.
Great job with the music in capturing both the original composition and that 70s vibe

Whilst leaving the frozen world of Kastra, having defeated Eldrad, the Doctor receives a summons to Gallifrey. At first, he considers taking Sarah home, which would only be right as she has been through a lot in the last few hours, having been possessed, exposed to radiation, shot at, threatened, and fearing for her life, and she deserved some peace, and he also feared the possibility of Sarah being treated like Jamie and Zoe, who were returned home with no memory of their friend, and he couldn't bear the idea of his beloved Sarah Jane ever going through that, but something inside him compels him to take her anyway; the Time Lords called him, they knew he always travelled with a friend, and he would make it clear that if they wanted help, it would be on his terms. Thus, Sarah walks into the console room, bags packed, toy owl under her arm, scowl on her face, and the Doctor asks if she heard the message too. Sarah Jane assures him it was all an act, and she wasn't really planning on leaving, which the Doctor smiles at - they're both going to Gallifrey, whether the Time Lords allow it or not. She's more than a match for them, and she represents the best of humanity, there is no way she is being left behind.
Whilst en route, the Doctor sees another vision, one of the President being assassinated, and when the TARDIS lands, the Doctor comes to, only to find Sarah is gone. Worried the Time Lords have taken her, he does what he can to sneak into the Capitol and find her, but then a sinister vision of Sarah being killed plays in his head, and the demand is clear - he must be the one to pull the trigger, or Sarah Jane dies. The episode pretty much plays out much the same, the Doctor is framed for the assassination of the President, and despite going through with it, there is no sign of Sarah Jane from the mysterious captor. At the trial, the Doctor refuses to co-operate until Sarah is returned, insisting he was acting on instructions of someone threatening her. The tribunal decides that the best punishment is the confession dial - if the Doctor is telling the truth, the dial will release him, especially if his companion's life is at stake, but it seems the dial has come into the hands of another individual, convinced of the Doctor's guilt, and thus refuses to let the dial unlock without the confession they want. Thus the Doctor fights hard to break out - his, and Sarah's lives, are at stake, not to mention who else the real perpetrator wants removed for sinister ends.

But that was EPIC! And now I care. Damn you. Time to buy a TV license...

i can definitely imagine most of the lines in this episode being spoken by Baker, although his ending speech would be a lot calmer, while Capaldi's Doctor definitely had the passion to yell some of the lines

Absolutely beautiful, it sounds like Heaven Sent was literally filmed in the 70s and upped in quality, reminds me almost of an old videogame soundtrack

This is a genuinely interesting coincidence, as the three most recent Doctor Who episodes I have watched are Heaven Sent, The Deadly Assassin and The Hand of Fear. RUclips definitely saw my watch history for this.
