    Impressive work out. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your availability to young throwers and to their coaches. Your videos along with your new coaching channel and cameo's allow them to build incentive knowing you're giving them the tools and attention they need from a hero. Your demeanor is calm, intense to the situation, and mentoring. As an old guy thrower from the 70's & 80's, I wish the times would have allowed those I believed in to be as available as your are. Train hard, stay healty & strong, and throw FAR.

    Awesome Ryan, we didn't have bands to train with in the 80s, but Oldfield and I would literally throw a bench press up, looked very similar to what you are doing here but , you more weight because of the bands. I can also see these being very helpful for masters throwers. Love this !

    • @KentWhite985

      Look up Josh Bryant on strength training. He utilizes bands and chains to help increase strength in the major lifts. Basically what you are doing is gradually making the lift harder the further you lift the weight. You can’t do this with just lightening the load. The people criticizing him show they know nothing of techniques to get stronger and used by world class lifters for their workouts.

    Working hard as a sophomore in high school. current Pr is 103 feet 7 inches. What muscles do you recommend I work out to help improve? I’m trying to get in the 160’s by senior year :)

    • @SilverSlugs16
      @SilverSlugs16 2 года назад +1

      Less that you need to get particular muscles strong and more that you need to get your general strength and power up. Probably most important that you get your squat, cleans, and pressing variations as strong as possible, but don’t neglect any parts of your body. So even though pulling and general back strength is less direct to throwing, it’s crucial that you be strong there too. Don’t obsess over any one lift though. At your level, general strength with some extra emphasis on the squats, cleans and presses will be all you need. Keep yourself balanced and healthy by still working all the movement / areas. Do your deadlifts and pulls, your hamstring work, mobility stuff etc

    • @RyanCrouser23
      @RyanCrouser23  2 года назад

      It puts me at a more advantageous pressing angle and feels better on the wrists. I believe that suicide grip is just as safe if not safer when done properly because you press through the bar instead of actively trying to stack your wrist with a thumb over grip. Main takeaway is that thumbs won’t save you at 500lbs+
