Impressive work out. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your availability to young throwers and to their coaches. Your videos along with your new coaching channel and cameo's allow them to build incentive knowing you're giving them the tools and attention they need from a hero. Your demeanor is calm, intense to the situation, and mentoring. As an old guy thrower from the 70's & 80's, I wish the times would have allowed those I believed in to be as available as your are. Train hard, stay healty & strong, and throw FAR.
Thank you! That means a lot to hear
@@RyanCrouser23 what's the structure of a typical workout for you. Like part Olympic lift, part power lift, part core, part plymetrics, and part supplementery lifts?
This is absolutely fantastic! Love watching these videos!
I’m curious about the 23.77 on the wall practice pr maybe ? 👀
Goal for this year
@@RyanCrouser23 Up it one more cm for a nice, round 78 feet (and 22/100 of an inch) for us freedom unit enthusiasts.
Great channel Ryan! You are a big inspiration
You killing it man. Keep grinding and making Gresham/Boring proud.
Really solid info and impressive content! Keep up the great work, Ryan. Always pulling for your success. Kevin McMahon - OLY 1996, 2000
You've really inspired me so much... i have been utilising your workouts and i have seen major improvements on my throw
Watching those med ball throws your reactive strength and recoil speed is insane even compared to other elite athletes!
Absurdly explosive on the medball
Good information Ryan thanks for Sharon God I wish I could find someone to train with like you brother. God bless and keep working hard man congratulations
Respect champ from Bulgaria 💥🇧🇬
Awesome Ryan, we didn't have bands to train with in the 80s, but Oldfield and I would literally throw a bench press up, looked very similar to what you are doing here but , you more weight because of the bands. I can also see these being very helpful for masters throwers. Love this !
Thanks! Bands are a useful training tool and can definitely help save the wear and tear on joints
FINALLLY !!!....LEts GooooOooooo!
Insane strength! You compete in a cap every now and then, which doesn't bother you at all as it falls off?
I'm curious about your hat and cap collection, looks like you have got tons. Give us a glimpse of some one day!
Shotput is about being a human cannon. They need to be hugely explosive and I think bands are great to make sure you can do explosive push movement in tour bench. It helps with muscle memory.
Lets go!!!
a man mountain, the greatest shot putter the world has ever seen. He works so hard on strength and agility yet is a ballerina in the circle
nice pull up!
The hat is 🔥🔥
You have an awesome training partner Ryan 🙂
Definitely!
Wow Ryan, 235 kg Bench press for 5 reps with Bands!!awesome
The speed at which you launch that medball is one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen….
Big fan sir
Ryan, please make some videos on glide technique, it will help new shot put thrower who don't have a coach🙏
does shot put goat really replies?
Dawg 💪💪
Beast💥🥂
Sir please next vedio for discus throw technique
Potencia 💪💪
the length of the video is how far he throws
Can u pls make a video showing your workout chart
Hello, Ryan! What kinds of sports do you like besides shot put?
Could you go into why the bands are good to use? Also how much strict work do you do? I.e. without bands?
Look up Josh Bryant on strength training. He utilizes bands and chains to help increase strength in the major lifts. Basically what you are doing is gradually making the lift harder the further you lift the weight. You can’t do this with just lightening the load. The people criticizing him show they know nothing of techniques to get stronger and used by world class lifters for their workouts.
Its always dope to see your vids Mr. Crouser, your like the Brian Shaw of throws! Hopefully the channel gets bigger and the algorithm picks the channel up.
The hat cracked me up. What an absolute unit.🔥🤣
Thank you! I appreciate it!
@@RyanCrouser23 how would you peak for competition and what is just a good base for peaking. (Sets and reps) Would you start high reps and go low reps, opposite, or something different.
Hey man I hope you can show us what you eat in a day,
7:00 Stewart Togher would have something to say to a hammer thrower doing bench press
I was wondering if Ryan is good at pullups given is 300+ lb frame. Nice job.
med ball power crazyyy
You can mention how many sets you will do Ryan plz mention sir
Do you do all throwing videos or just shot ?
Not only do you throw the shot farther than Eddie Hall, you are also stronger in pull-ups.
Good
Where do you get the bands from ? I’m trying to add more banded lifts into my workout
Damn those med ball throws looks so much more efficient then speed benches. Those look awesome explosive. Sorry louie.
Ryan is such an Open Minded world record holder! What Ryan did with the bands in this video is called lightening method!I wonder how all the haters would feel embarrassed If they haters know even a tiny bit of conjugate training method. Louie Simmons “took” my sumo from 160kg to 200kg @60kg BW in a mini training cycle without doing a single regular deadlift!
Do some throw videos.
What's ur practice throw best distance
What's your maximum bench press.
So, 264 was just the warm-up?

Was 264 a warm-up?
Working hard as a sophomore in high school. current Pr is 103 feet 7 inches. What muscles do you recommend I work out to help improve? I’m trying to get in the 160’s by senior year :)
Less that you need to get particular muscles strong and more that you need to get your general strength and power up. Probably most important that you get your squat, cleans, and pressing variations as strong as possible, but don’t neglect any parts of your body. So even though pulling and general back strength is less direct to throwing, it’s crucial that you be strong there too. Don’t obsess over any one lift though. At your level, general strength with some extra emphasis on the squats, cleans and presses will be all you need. Keep yourself balanced and healthy by still working all the movement / areas. Do your deadlifts and pulls, your hamstring work, mobility stuff etc
How strong were you in high school
What bench is Ryan using?
Have you ever done Nordic curls?
I have, they’re a great (and challenging) exercise
What is the use of this rybber
Not much of an announcement but cool video.
When are you training with the grizzly?
We need to know the answer to this
Asking the real questions
It would be the greatest cross over in history
What do the bands help with in shot?
They help you build strength throughout the movement which in turn helps throw the shot farther

At around 5:30: really baffling that people would criticize an elite olympic athlete on his training methods 🤦♂️
💀 bruh I can barely bench 180lbs
Btw, my PR is 36’6” I’m a sophomore and my goal for my senior year is 50’, thanks for the great workout ideas!
Interesting that you use no thumbs grip on the bench press. What's the reason for it.
I do the same, for me it's because it puts less strain on the wrist, I think the reason should be the same for him too
I m great fan of yours throws sir 🙏🙏🙏I m from India I'm also Indian national level shotput thrower ❤️❤️ can u please give me your autograph
Halo sir I am from india
I see you use the suicide grip on the bench. How come?
It puts me at a more advantageous pressing angle and feels better on the wrists. I believe that suicide grip is just as safe if not safer when done properly because you press through the bar instead of actively trying to stack your wrist with a thumb over grip. Main takeaway is that thumbs won’t save you at 500lbs+
Hey Ryan I am stick in 9 metre, I am a late learner of shotput, I use side jumps technique to throw, I am not perfected in rotation or glide because I started at age of 27, it's only 8 months. What to do to increase my throw to atleast 12 m using side jumps. Please have a look in my matter champ. I can maaximum bench 90 kg
I would recommend trying to learn the glide, it will take some time, but don’t worry if you’re not throwing as far right away. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward
@@RyanCrouser23 Humbled to get your suggestion champ. Definitely work on it.
What’s the 23.77 on the chalk board? Goals or something else
