When the Circuit City was closing in Lakewood, CA, all their CDs were only $1 each. I must've bought over 50 CDs. I was just randomly throwing them into my cart. I decided I needed more Christmas music in my collection. I'd never heard of Linda Eder before, but what a find!!! To this day, it's my favorite Christmas CD, and sometimes I even play tracks during the year, they are that good. My all-time favoirite Christmas song is O Holy Night, and her version is so amazing. For sure my favorite. Christmas Stays the Same is 100% amazing.
@@karenivan5993 Linda is far superior to Streisand who mostly sang through her nose her whole career, not to mention Linda's range and the power of her belt blow Barbra away.
Miraculously discovered Linda on the Women of Broadway. She is the best, a master of the art with a beautiful full range voice. Besides that, she's an equestrian!!!
This excellent DVD was produced in 2004, not 1990, according to the product data on Amazon. Probably performed in 2003, or a year or two earlier. 1990 was only two years after Linda won the Star Search competition.
Can anyone tell me what note she hits @ 1:21:38 during “O Holy Night”? it’s exquisite. Was never expecting to discover her through This particular Concert, but I’m kind o’ glad I did.
Definitely. Streisand didn't have a belt as powerful or range as wide as Linda's not to mention Streisand sang through her nose most of her career. A very nasal tone, especially in the upper register.
So sorry linda. Been a fan for many years. I just tried to order on your store site, but was informed you do not ship to Staten Island, NYC. Thought you may want to know.
I think that was the year that the Christmas Stays the Same album was released but that's not the year that this was filmed as based on Jake's age and what she says this was filmed in 2001.
How can you sound like Streisand when you're ten times better than Streisand? Linda's belt is far more powerful and her range much wider than Streisand who mostly sang through her nose her entire career, a very nasal tone.
I love how she introduced all of the musicians. So classy.

One of the most underrated performers of our time!
Absolutely! I think she's much better than Streisand!

Wow!!!! Amazing

What a treasure trove of talent!
Linda is as beautiful inside as outside. An angelic voice.
This woman touches my heart with her angelic voice.
My fav Christmas song ❤️ 🎄
Love this special ❤ really enjoyed it! Thank you Linda
Love, love, love Linda Eder!! The voice is fabulous!💖
This entire concert was phenomenal especially her version of "Do You See What I See" back by that fantastic band /orchestra and choir.
when she sang Silent Night, I nearly wept at the beauty of her voice
I have yet to hear anything performed by Linda Eder that I haven't enjoyed. What a treasure trough of talent she is!
Treasure Trove, not trougj
So wonderful

When you look and sound like Linda Eder you don't need sequins.
Babs had her day this Linda's. I think Linda is just a cut above

awesomw.

This tv-quality output does not do her performance justice!
Linda Eder @ Mohegan
THIS WAS IN 2000 NOT 1990
Thanks - I wondered about that
December of 2001, as she talks about September 11th.
I believe this was Christmas 2001 time not in 1990
What does that "1990" mean?
I think that was the year that the Christmas Stays the Same album was released but that's not the year that this was filmed as based on Jake's age and what she says this was filmed in 2001.
Google says album is 2000, recording of concert is 2001 and DVD release is 2004.
Is that her husband playing the piano and directing the orchestra?
Mark Broomfield-Ranney no
That's Jeremy Roberts on Piano and Musical Directing. He and Linda have been friends for a long time since Jekyll & Hyde.
This was in 2000 - NOT 1990.
It was after that because "If I had my way" was written because of 911 & that happened 9/11/2001
Th e voice is incredible, but a black suit ? The hair and the make up - she looks gorgeous, she needs to wear some sequins, put some glamour into it.
The glamour is in that magnificent voice. The touch of satin suffices.
Is it me or is she trying to sound like La Streisand....
Okay..I had watched only two songs when I wrote the above comment but I see I'm not the only one (a critic seemed to think the same).
No.
This presentation of the recording makes her sound more like it than it should. There are better recordings.
She has a bigger octave range than Streisand, Barbra Streisand had at her peak 3 octave range & Linda was 4 octave range.
How can you sound like Streisand when you're ten times better than Streisand? Linda's belt is far more powerful and her range much wider than Streisand who mostly sang through her nose her entire career, a very nasal tone.
