first shoe something i like to do is any 2’ or 3’s the dealer shows when i got 12 or 13 is double down…. sounds crazy but you win a lot more than you wanna know

I saw only 1 other non-intentional one, which was A 7 vs 4 which she only hit and should have doubled. I saw the 10 vs 7 too but since you commented on it first I acknowledged you on my comment. :-)))))))

Loved the video. You were down to your last $300 at one point, up to $1300 at one point and doing battle! And you hit 2 royal matches really early which was cool. The fact that they pay 3-1 instead of 2.5 to one on any 2 suited cards makes that a really low house edge side bet.
I really only saw 4 errors (2 of which were intentional), of which Bryant saw one of them too which is really good considering you played an hour. Ace 7 vs dealer 4 is a double (you would have won additional $$$), and 10 vs 7 was a double (you would have won additional here as well). The last 2 you know of, which were the $500 11 hands, of which you would have won the additional $500 but you had no additional funds.
10 is *always* a double against 9 or less. A7 doubles against 3-6.

You're actually looking for 1970 or earlier 1/2 dollars. :) 1964 and earlier are 90% silver, but the 65-70 are 40% silver. And are worth about $3.50 each. The 90% are a little over $8 each.

@@BRHSpartans I am only a fan of match the dealer, lucky ladies, king's bounty, lucky lucky and perfect pairs. My favorite is lucky ladies tho. It seems like Vegas don't offer those side bets.
Talk about losing a ton on the side bets but she also hit the 15 to 1 on a $25 bet twice so that was 750 that she won. Not to mention all the other time so she probably broke even or actually came out ahead

I'm not usually a fan of playing the side bets on a blackjack table but I will play the Royal Match bet in Reno. The reason is if you get a suited hand, you win the side bet, but if it's a hand that you're going to take a hit with, then they'll let you parlay some or all of your winnings on the Royal Match bet to try and hit it again with your hit card. If your hit card is of the same suit again, then obviously you win the side bet again! Even if your hit card busts you, but is suited, you still win the side bet. It really adds a lot of fun to it and sometimes you can win enough on the side bet to cover your loss on the main bet. I haven't been to Reno for quite a while so I'm not sure if they're still offering that.

Thank you! My rule of thumb is to only film when I have permission so I would *not* recommend secretly filming. I just use my iPhone to film. I hope you’re able to get permissions somewhere! 😊

In my opinion not sure if right or wrong when you bet $50 and $25 on each of the side bets you only break even losing the side bets and winning your hand. So I would suggest your initial bet be bigger than your total side bets so if you lose the sides and win your bet you still make some money.
The side bets are a completely different game. And they pay WAY more than a hand does. At least 3 to 1... Side bets are where it's at. Wish I could only play the side bets

You're missing the point. Doesn't matter if you lose the blackjack hand or win it. The side bets are a different game. I know what you're saying but. Since side bets have nothing to do with your hand, the win/loss doesn't matter. You're playing them for a chance to win money. JUST LIKE the blackjack hand. If you lose a side bet, it's no different than losing the blackjack hand. You lost, and it shouldn't have any bearing on your strategy. On the other hand, if you win the side bet it pays a lot better than the hand. And if you haven't noticed, blackjack is a majority of losing hands anyways. 1 thing ppl dont take into consideration is this. The reason your odds of losing are l pretty good on the actual blackjack hand is, because you have to act 1st AND place a bet. The house does neither. That's where their advantage lies. The whole percentage that favors the house lies in the fact you have to act 1st. That's why you lose the majority of hands. So playing the side bet you don't act AT ALL. Depending on the side bet offered, and the decks in play, will determine the odds of winning a side bet. In single deck the odds are lower due to the fact that you only have 52 cards. Plus the point you cut the cards. Which removes cars from your odds of hitting a side bet. Some side bets are better than others, and the odds change a bit. But not much in 6-8 deck. Another thing that changes the odds is every time cards are used, they're now removed from the equation. Side bets are at their best odds at beginning of Shue through the middle. Another HUGE thing she has going for her with side bets is. No one else is playing, so ALL the odds go to her . I know she plays them because it's fun but, mathematically she's doing the correct thing, ESPECIALLY since she's playing alone.
Side bets will always be controversial but, when you're alone and on a multiple deck Shue, they are awesome. I don't even have to rewatch the video to know she probably made more money on the side bets than the hand. Except the $500 hand of course. Most ppl think it's a sucker bet or the casino wouldn't offer it. The whole friggn casino is a sucker bet lol.
Surest way to double your money in a casino is. Take out a hundred dollar bill, and fold it in half and leave.

Doesn't change a single thing I wrote. And there's no way having a pair equals 15-17% house favor. In fact, if you dig really deep into the math, there's almost no way of knowing the odds. I mean we know they're not 99%-1% or vice versa. But there's not a good way to figure the odds on hitting a side bet. The variables involved change every single hand. Actually every single card changes them, every single time a card is revealed. You can say what the casinos edge may be, but you can't work it out to Actually consistently be that. It's a lot more complicated than just picking a number. Especially if you're playing 1 on 1, as opposed to a table with 1 to 6 other players. Splits, doubles, burnt cards on the cut are just a few. Also depends on the particular side bet offered. Match the dealer doesn't have anywhere near the same odds as suited blackjack. Just like a pair doesn't have the same odds as say a flush. Way too many variables to actually have any odds that are legit. A lot easier to figure out in single deck, although you'd still not know after the cut and burn. Just like with Baccarat. They say the house ( bank,) only has about a 1% advantage. Not true at all. In Baccarat the odds are more like 55% house advantage because of the fact the bank draws extra cards that the player spot can't. Anyhow, just like there's a 0% chance you know what your next 2 cards will be in blackjack, you also have no idea if those 2 cards will be part of a side bet win, until the 3 cards are face up. And the most important part of the whole equation is this. The casino will be there for decades. You'll be there for hours, ( if you're lucky.) The casinos mathematics revolves around millions of hands played. That's where they cane up with the odds for every table game there is. The odds over minutes or hours change every hand.
Ppl are just programmed to do things the casinos way. Like hitting, staying, splitting, doubling etc. The reason the house plays that way is because the odd are figured over years. Not minutes. Hitting a 16 has about as much Chace of improving your hand as it does breaking your hand over the short term. Splitting 8's in the short run against anything over a 6 is a terrible play. Just like doubling am 11 against a 10 is a terrible play. If you're assuming the dealer has another 10 underneath, like everyone is programmed to believe, then doubling an 11 against a 10 leaves you 1 card that will improve your hand to a probable winner. Those odds are almost the worst there is. Ppl are just programmed to play the casinos have told them. The odds on a side bet are much better than the odds on a double, split or hitting a 15 or 16. And that's only taking place +- percentage of the cards already dealt and burned. The only way playing by. " the rules, " would favor you, odds wise, is if you were to play millions of hands over years. In the minutes or hours you're playing they don't apply like the casinos have brainwashed players into believing. And in the short run, on a table by yourself, your odds are better, that also applies to side bets. Much better. If you take the odds the casino is offering you're smart in my book. Like the way she played in this video they offer a minimum of 3-1 on the side bets. WHY WOULDN'T you take the odds? Not like you have to play $1000 on the side bets. Come to S. Florida Hard Rock and I'll show you how to consistently win at blackjack, AND side bets. And she's smart because she got her money back and bounced. My rule is if I buy in for $1000 and I'm up $350, it's a rap. That's the other part, take the wins, big and small. I got a little deeper into the odds and blackjack than I intended just now lol. But there's more to all of it than what odds the casino states. And that includes side bets.

great video as always. however you need to be VERY careful with side bet amount risked on single deck. remember there is only one of each card so i would suggest slowing the dealer down and making a mental note of the cards that have come out. by the fourth hand your odds of making a pair are MUCH lower as half the cards have come out. thats why the casino pays better odds on single deck for the side bets. likewise and most importantly keep a count of the number of 10s/faces out. several times u doubled down near the end of the shoe when there were only 4 10/face cards left in the deck reducing odds from 12/52 to 4/26 approx.
Also twice in that video all the aces were out (dealer got most of them) removing chances for u to get a BJ. In the past playing alone ive asked the dealer to shuffle the shoe immediately after. its YOUR money and they should not object.

@@benwolski no because there are no longer 52 cards in the deck only 26 hence only 4 "tens" of the remaining 26 cards. this is exactly how card counting works.-usually the other way round. ie.counters look for lots of low value cards coming out, increasing the chances to increase their bets so the reverse hold true. ie u would never double down if u knew there were no tens left
@Paul Eason ( not the singer ), I guess that makes sense. Doubling down doesn't really require a 10/face to be effective though, right? Maybe the remaining deck is rich with 9's and she's looking at a 6.

I'm certain a gaming professional or mathematician will back me on this one, but she's really cutting into her potential win & profit by continually betting those side prop bets. Fun as they may seem, they're really good bets for the HOUSE, not the player. For example, the suited match true odds are 4/1, but house only pays 3/1 there. That's a HUGE advantage! Yes, the house always wins and holds an edge people will tell me, BUT, maximizing your win should be most any player's ultimate goal. She'd be better off adding those nickel chips on top of her quarter bets, or even playing two or three hand spreads and laying off the side bets. Countless sessions I've seen & played where seatmates are betting those prop bets all night, and in no time they're broke or looking for the nearest ATM machine. Absolutely will not make you a winner.

The dealers paying the side bets with green when you obviously use and need red is irritating me. A good dealer knows and anticipates what the player needs and will do it before being asked!
10-1 on suited K Q seems like awfully low odds considering there are only 4 possible hits of that combination and its 15-1 payout on the any pair which is a more probable outcome. weird
