Just watched the 10 lies and myths and for number 10 the text did match Dave’s explanation. Text said “payer” gets paid slot, but Dave explained “player” gets paid slot. Love watching you guys. Hope to run into you next time we are in Vegas.
It’s an interesting wrinkle and question, since your play got the bonus. I suspect it’s yours if the bonus result is already set when you hit the bonus, but I don’t know for sure. It might depend on the type of bonus.
Well done - I'm a slot technician and work very closely with slot designers, mathematicians and compliance and everything said in this video is 100% accurate.
Y'all need to come play slots here on tribal casinos here in Washington State. We have seen a massive difference between the slots we play here and when we play in Vegas. Bottom line: Vegas slots pay out more.
Tip #1 I tell everyone I know that wants to go to the casino. !! ONLY GO WITH THE MONEY YOU ARE WILLING TO LOSE FOR ENTERTAINMENT and leave your other money in the bank !!
You should never go to a casino with the idea you are going to win a lot of money. Go for the entertainment. Those sounds and lights on a slot machine are just to entertain you while you lose your money (LOL).
I can't stand when someone is slapping and smacking the screen during a bonus thinking it helps them win more... so loud and annoying, STOP hitting the machine.
My first tip to anyone gambling is to bring what you can afford to lose and just have fun. If you win then it's icing but if you lose then you've at least expected to but hopefully had some fun. My second tip for those who gamble often is that if you win a large amount/handpay, set aside what you gambled to win + what you intend on playing with the remainder of the day and then split the remaining in half. When you get home bank 1/2 and put 1/2 aside to play with another day. I started doing this about 10 years ago and haven't played with my own money since. When my bankroll is up I play heavier and when it's down I play lighter. But I always have fun.
#10...If you BANG on the screen, your win comes up! As I see many people do..annoying. I saw one person do this, and the machine shut down and went offline.😂😂
You should not go to Vegas assuming you will win. Sure we always hope to but the house is always in favor. I go twice a year and sure we always say I’m going to get two handpays but it’s jokingly said. Best thing to do is set daily limits and play within your means, don’t go with a daily limit of say a few hundred and play ten dollar spins. I’ve been going since the early 2000’s and sure it’s got a bit more expensive but when going to any vacation town whether it’s Miami, pcb Florida, aspen, Vegas you should always take into account everything will be more expensive.
I've watched people on the Journey to the Planet Moola try to "grab" the bonus money on the journey by hitting the button - totally clueless it is already pre-determined and nothing they do will change it. And, button slappers drive me nuts!
I go to Vegas once or twice a year. I play the Wheel of fortune .25 slots, max bet. I put a twenty in and if I win nothing or a small win, I put another twenty in. If I win $30 or more, I cash out and put the ticket in my pocket. That way if I go through my $200 for that day at least I will have a few tickets to turn in and then quit so I never go home empty handed. Last trip, playing WOF, I brought $600 for the trip and ended up winning $930 for a plus $330 adventure. The point being, when you win around $50 don't just keep playing with the extra tokens as you will eventually lose it all...ps love the channel.
Try lower volatility machines and get up a bit more than WOF allows (for the most part), then you’ll have a bit more confidence (and funds) to make a few higher bets. I lose a lot in Vegas on games like WOF just for fun but get actual wins out of things like Top Dollar or Double Diamonds. Whatever you do and no matter the advice, always have fun!
My strategy when playing slots is to start with $100. If I grow it to $150 I quit. Period. If my money falls below $50 I will play until I loss the rest or increase it to $100 at which I quit.
Unfortunately, I think there are alot of youtubers who are misleading people with their videos to get views. I was one and lost every time. I should have stuck to what I know and continued to play the way I always do. My results were better thank you for these videos
Was just in Vegas. The number of slot machines with spin buttons that were cracked, broken, or just not working at all was amazing. I attribute this to the button slippers (encountered tons of them), or those trying to stop the spin with a hard smack. If the random number generator decides your spin is “the big one” then you will win big…anything else you do to try and influence the spin, is a waste of your time and money. Go with a plan, a budget, and your attitude set to fun instead of making millions, and you will have a good time.
We’ve seen it hammer smash on the buttons more times than we can count and many times it’s because of the tease of a bonus about to happen that just upsets the player to the point of hammer smashing the button. Just go with a a budget and have fun. Think of it like a ticket to a show with slight chance you’ll win something! 🎰😘
Thank you for this video. I have had to explain these misconceptions to a few of my family members and friends. However anymore, I just let them believe what they want and not take away from their enjoyment.
Your tips are great. I've talked to people at Parx Casino who won't put their card into a machine as they think they're being tracked and have a better chance of winning without the card. I didn't know about the winner being the person who pushes the button so thanks for that tip. In spite of what you said I stil think casino's hit better mid to end of month when they have to meet the slot machines payout odds, I'm sure I'm wrong but it's my supersition. I've never done well at Parx at the beginning of the month.
I lived in Vegas for 20 years and the only time I went gambling was on my birthday. I'd go to the Plaza and play Bingo for free and then if I won I'd go play Texas Holdem at the Golden Nugget. Then I'd walk up and down Fremont to enjoy the people watching. Because (not sure of they still do it but,) the Plaza would validate your parking for 24 hours if you played a round of Bingo. I'd walk through all the casinos and get all my birthday freebies. Then I'd go home and do again the next year. I left Vehas in 2022, and I still get Plaza brochures around my birthday 🤗
Thank so much for your videos. Excited to get back to vegas soon. I love gamble smart and cowboy slots and one thing that I learned that helped me is understanding volatility of slots. Also class II vs class III slots.
I like to think of it as "game play" and "machine play". Game play is what affects the outcome and is almost exclusively determined by the RNG. Machine play is all the stuff the designers build in to get you to play or keep playing, whether it's fat pigs or full coin pots or all those "almost" bonuses where you get all but one symbol and can see the edge of the missing one. The RNG determines the outcome then the machine displays the result in a way designed to be entertaining and keep you playing.
Thanks for this video re: slot myths. I'm sure alot of people will insist some of them are real but the RNG is what makes the determination. It has the power!!! Great win Tanya!🎰 I always thought the person who put the money in would be the winner but it makes sense it goes to the person who pushed the button or lever because that is the moment the RNG determines the win.
I have one firmly held belief about something that increases my chances of winning on a slot machine. It has no basis in realty, but I don't care. It's completely delusional, but I don't care. I'm sticking with it. Here goes: whenever I get comped a free drink while playing a machine, I always tip the server the full amount of what the drink would have cost me if I ordered it from the bar. I swear, I start winning more afterwards. And if I'm completely wrong, which I am, it's still a good thing to do. So I always do it.
Hey, we don’t blame you, we still have our superstitions too, despite knowing the reality! It makes slots more fun in our opinion thinking you have more control than you actually may do! 😂
Great info! Another very common myth is that by fast spinning you can stop the reels. Sooooo many people believe this one and even many slot channels here on youtube seem to encourage this falsehood. The truth is that the moment you start your spin the outcome of all the reels is set. When you do a so-called fast spin, you are merely seeing that outcome sooner. The visuals are just an illusion.
^^^ that’s the biggest buncha bullshit I’ve ever heard!! The outcome is never 100% predetermined..because you just changed its trajectory by the quick stop or capture method which we should know alters the normal outcome!
Yep. I have managed to catch 4 fireballs on the screen by stopping the reels with the button or by touching the screen - and having 4 pop on the screen at once.
As I stated above and as seen here, this is a VERY common myth. People want to believe that a ”quick stop” changes the outcome. But if you do research, you will see that this is simply not true. Once you press that button the FIRST time, the result is set. Facts.
I was always under the impression that it is the person who put the money into the machine as the sole winner. Given your comment that it is the person hitting the spin button, why wouldn't a person just walk past every slot machine pushing everybody's slot machine? Sooner or later, that person will win without ever putting money into a machine.
It’s a good question and one we struggle with a bit too. In that case however, that person hitting the play button without permission would effectively be stealing someone else’s money to play slots. Not only would they be booted from the casino but they could also be subject to other charges. It’s obviously very different if you give someone else permission to hit your slot play button.
Another myth was that the casino placed winning machines by the entrance thus people walking in would see machines paying off and think the casino has loose machines.
In Australia, slot machines (pokies) are legally required to return a certain percentage to players, which is usually around 95%. However that’s not one individual player, that’s all players over time on a single machine. So I think it is true they can tighten or loosen based on past outcomes but the scale it does this is so broad it’s unlikely to be noticed.
This channel, Gamblesmart and Nodo Addiction tell the truth about how scary the depths of gambling addiction can be, but also make casinos seem less scary to someone who has never set foot in one at 32.
I look at it like this, Slots are basically arcade games for adults that pay a little money now and then. About 6 yrs ago I had an awesome run on an Austin Powers Machine at Hotel California.
You should always use your players card for two reasons: if you bet enough (regardless of how much you win) you can get comps, and if you win big enough to be forced to report them on taxes then you can right off previous losses to reduce your tax burden. Plus I guess the players card will remind you of just how much you're losing.
If you're bored, find a book and read it, walk through nature, I have a book from the 1960s. Plant a carrot seed, water it, feed it, watch it grow, pull it up, and eat it. This shows you patience and calms your mind. Keep gardening. Include pollinators garden for the bees to feed them as they pollinate your fruit trees, while the flowers will feed the bees, birds, butterflies. The fruit will feed you and the birds. This way, you feel nature, the earth, your body, and your lazy bored mind!!! Cindy Think about that!!!
Everyone think they have magical power, I hate sitting next to slapper shaking the machine and hitting on the screen to make the bonus stop, people please STOP IT ✋️ 😮
The chances of malfunctioning machines has been dropping over the years so that is good. Everything you said here is dead on. As someone that knows and understands how these machines work - no I can't say how or why - I can verify it all. Everything you see on the screen is just there to make the game interesting and to keep you playing. The results of each spin are decided before your finger comes off the button. "Certainly the game is rigged. Don't let that stop you; if you don't bet, you can't win." - Lazarus Long (Robert Heinlein) in the book "Time enough for Love".
@@TurnItUpWorld I'm a woman who plays craps. Lol. I'm going for my birthday in December and can't decide where to stay. Delano or Venetian, but it's a fun choice.
Can you tell me why the machines are set differently when they give out the promotional gifts, because I have been going for a long time and I actually paid attention to this and so far it seems true to me, because it hasn't failed yet.
God bless you, you are doing a great service! I would only add that the button slappers and screen glass pounders are not doing anything but looking really stupid and the reason your button no longer works for the next guy.
My biggest hurdle is leaving a machine that I havent hit anything on. I put in x and pretty much lose it as fast as possible. In that specific situation I feel like it's "due." Of course it's not, but feelings aren't always rational. My way of fighting it is only putting an amount I know I wont feel committed to chasing so if I lose it fast I dont feel like the machine "owes" me anything.
Great video. What about newly installed machines paying better? Another one is pulling money out and putting it back in resets the machine and it pays.
What about the myth that certain machines have better odds based on location? Ex: the ones by the entrances and bathrooms have higher/lower odds then those in the middle of the casino?
If they can have different odds at one casino or another (off strip slots are famously looser) then I'm sure they can have different odds from one location to another. But I would guess you need to do a lot of calculations of all the win payout information to figure that out.
@@enmodo Casinos don't typically do this anymore. It's all based on denomination, regardless of location of the machine. Locations of machines are there for one reason only - trying to get people to play them. :)
Thanks for telling us the Truth!! Also Tanya, your hair is absolutely gorgeous, and Dave, you are so handsome with lots of swag!! Also, you both look so sharp!! From Tricee in Virginia Beach, VA ⛱️ ⛱️ ⛱️ To Thee BEST COUPLE EVER!!!
Regarding #1, the display issue, well yes, and no. How is the consumer (slot player) supposed to know what the internal computer says except by what is shown on the screen? The player trusts this system every other time. This makes it seem like neither the casino nor the slot manufacturer is responsible for the accuracy of the display. This argument is specious at best. What if no one did an "investigation:" in the Treasure Island incident? Was this an isolated incident? If the consumer/player cannot trust the display matches the result, this is evidence that the fix is on! So the person would walk away with a steak dinner or a lesser amount of money instead of a major jackpot. The casino and/or manufacturer should take the hit, pay up, and reset the jackpot as if the internal workings malfunctioned and not the display.
I have never ever gambled at Vegas. Why? Wynn said they make money from losers!! Do you want to win? Don't gamble at all. Keep your money!! Understand? Cindy
❤I love your videos Tanya and Dave doing your thang! 🤩 Tanya, your eye glasses and outfit are on point! Dave you're holding your own in that Raiders shirt! 🏈Liked & subscribed! See you in Vegas August 15-20, 2024 🎉
The bonus one that you spoke of, does vary by state. In Vegas it's definitely whoever presses the button, but in other states, it can be whoever agrees to taking on the tax burden.
True, but be careful - the difference in payback % is not noticable enough in the short term to risk pushing your bet higher than your comfort level. :)
I won 6 hand pays at a casino over 4 days. At the Vegas Airport, I got 3 more and the guy next to me got 5. I got 2 on the same machine and that guy got 2 more after I moved to the one he already won 2 on. All on the firecracker one. Totally random and no players card at the airport.
I was told by someone who works for a casino that this sometimes happens because the gambling control board says that they haven’t paid out a certain percentage for a specific amount of time so they loosen them up until that percentage is paid out. Otherwise they can get shut down. (It’s just something I was told)
We’re coming to Vegas in July. You guys are really great people always happy go lucky I love your videos. I wish I could meet you guys. We’re coming that we could July 15 to see the volcano shut down. Be safe. Take care.🎉
What he said #4 : gambler's fallacy you think u will win after 7 consecutive looses, but each spin is independent like a coin toss it seem 50/ 50 but in reality u can have consecutive heads 4 times tails 1 time but if u keep tossing over enough time it can equal 50/50 but nobody can predict when ...Like over time the machine has a return to player percentage *( an percentage it has to pay overtime) i hope this help but it prolly confused some ppl... lol to include myself 😂🎉 *** nobody knows "win" *( when)/ homophone intended 😊... it will pay out.😅
After living in vegas on😢 and off for twelve years, my tip for those who are going into the casinos to gamble, is to take the money with them that they are willing to live there. If they go home with the same or more, they are a winner. Do not use your credit cards or your debit card to pull out any more money.walk away when you win.. don't put it back in trying to win more..
Another myth, I get a good line hit after I lowered my bet or went to a lower denomination, and I say " wow if I had only stated at the higher bet, I would have hit a lot more on that spin".

It keeps the server nearby if nothing else.
Hey, we don’t blame you, we still have our superstitions too, despite knowing the reality! It makes slots more fun in our opinion thinking you have more control than you actually may do! 😂

As I stated above and as seen here, this is a VERY common myth. People want to believe that a ”quick stop” changes the outcome. But if you do research, you will see that this is simply not true. Once you press that button the FIRST time, the result is set. Facts.
Fast spinning works whenever you get through.
I have hit 3 major jackpots and 1 smaller jackpot on the Penny denom with the lowest bet so far this year.
Thanks for the info Turn It Up World! New Subscriber here. GL & Roll TIde!
Thanks so much and welcome aboard!
Love your channel! Good info! 👍
I like the old school machines! I really hate this new machines
@@TurnItUpWorld EXACTLY!
Also randomly pushing someone elses buttons may possibly open up a big can of whoop-azz!
😂 very well said
I like the volume turned up. I'm blind so the sound effects tell me if I lost or won. My second trip to Vegas I won $750 at
Caesers.
. It understandable why you like the volume turned up! That’s a great win!
Great advice and another myth I hear and tried , but did not work was put large bills into the machine to trick it for a big pay out
I greatly enjoyed this video. Thank you for the tips. Keep up the great content!!! 😊
Thank you. We appreciate that!
New member, really enjoy your channel! Does the random number generator apply to lotto style games like keno? What about video poker?
Great questions, our focus was on slot machines. We would expect RNGs to be working in those machines as well however.
Wow ! I had no idea about the payout going to the person who hits the button !
A good one thank you for sharing
This channel, Gamblesmart and Nodo Addiction tell the truth about how scary the depths of gambling addiction can be, but also make casinos seem less scary to someone who has never set foot in one at 32.
I look at it like this, Slots are basically arcade games for adults that pay a little money now and then. About 6 yrs ago I had an awesome run on an Austin Powers Machine at Hotel California.
Tanya you look great. Love your hair, clothes etc. thank you for the tips.
Im 59 and have only gambled a couple times...once at Four Bears in ND and sort of at a that casino area outside Denver. Loved their buffet...
Everyone think they have magical power, I hate sitting next to slapper shaking the machine and hitting on the screen to make the bonus stop, people please STOP IT ✋️ 😮
Thank you. Have an amazing week. Cheers.
“We’re married, we’re all in this together’, supah cool way to end this great Vid.
Thanks so much! We really appreciate it!!
Great shirt Dave. My die hard hubby Raiders fan would love it 😊
Thanks! 😀
Great video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I live you two. Camping, Vegas, yes!! This video has good information.
Thanks so much Nancy, we are glad you enjoyed the video. Do you have fun playing slot machines in Las Vegas?
@@TurnItUpWorld I'm a woman who plays craps. Lol. I'm going for my birthday in December and can't decide where to stay. Delano or Venetian, but it's a fun choice.
Nancy, sounds like fun! Both places are great. We love the Delano but you can’t beat the Venetian’s location.
Thanks for the information, I play the slots all the time. I was believing all the myths. 😊
Great information some I knew about… and of course some I didn’t… I say play 5 to 8 hits on a slot and move around… to the next slot machine…
We don’t blame you, we feel the same way sometimes! Thanks for sharing!
Ultimately, casinos are a fun experience or an adult arcade. Do it responsibility and never go in with more then you can lose.
Great video. What about newly installed machines paying better?
Another one is pulling money out and putting it back in resets the machine and it pays.
Like always guy’s great information ℹ️ 👍🏻🇺🇸💯
Thanks so much!
Love your videos
Great video 😊
This just happened to me and it clearly states on all these slot machines that if the machine malfunctions he casino is not liable nor has to pay out.
If you hit a jackpot and you're using your card does the jackpot ticket have your name and your card number on that ticket that shoots out
Hey 👋 I have notifications ON yet it never happens😮😅 just thought I'd let you know 🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅
I love the loud noise of the slot machine makes it more fun ALL ABOARD 😅😅
Slapping smashing or rubbing the screen does not equal a win. STOP!
Understand? Cindy
Makes sense. The main problem is, i go there sometimes, cuz I'm bored.
❤I love your videos Tanya and Dave doing your thang! 🤩 Tanya, your eye glasses and outfit are on point! Dave you're holding your own in that Raiders shirt! 🏈Liked & subscribed! See you in Vegas August 15-20, 2024 🎉
Thanks so much! If you see us in Vegas when you are in town make sure to say hello! 🎉🎉🎉🎰🎰🎰
The bonus one that you spoke of, does vary by state. In Vegas it's definitely whoever presses the button, but in other states, it can be whoever agrees to taking on the tax burden.
That guy should put WARNING SIGNS outside of where that friend lives. "Gold Digger Lives There"
I really miss the coins too!
Epic thx sharing
Thanks so much Tony! What’s your favorite casino to play slot machines in Las Vegas?
All I can hear is “Buffaloooooo” 😂
🤣👏
Saludos gracias por tus palabras y consejos gracias ❤
That last little bit of advice was very helpful, thank you.
Generally, the higher the denom of the machine, the higher the payback percentage.
True, but be careful - the difference in payback % is not noticable enough in the short term to risk pushing your bet higher than your comfort level. :)
Winner , winner chicken dinner . TIUW ❤😊

How can you say that a machine’s payout percentage is set by the casino but also that a jackpot does not affect the odds of another one?
Be safe. Take care.🎉
What he said #4 : gambler's fallacy you think u will win after 7 consecutive looses, but each spin is independent like a coin toss it seem 50/ 50 but in reality u can have consecutive heads 4 times tails 1 time but if u keep tossing over enough time it can equal 50/50 but nobody can predict when
...Like over time the machine has a return to player percentage *( an percentage it has to pay overtime) i hope this help but it prolly confused some ppl... lol to include myself 😂🎉
*** nobody knows "win" *( when)/ homophone intended 😊... it will pay out.😅
I really like watching your channel, Thank You for all the info!!
Thanks so much Susan and you are very welcome!
I don't like the weekends when their is tons of people because then I can't get on my favorite machine and I'm not waiting for it.
That makes sense, we don’t blame you!
Another myth, I get a good line hit after I lowered my bet or went to a lower denomination, and I say " wow if I had only stated at the higher bet, I would have hit a lot more on that spin".
Thanks, yes, that’s a great one!!
When you get up from the machine, you walk away and don’t look back. Trust.
I always heard machines have a limited number of wins. It seems logical that you wouldn’t want a machine constantly giving out jackpots.
Quick spins makes me dizzy and gives me a migraine headache and if I play too long
Thanks Kathleen, we understand! Do you have a favorite slot machine?
True that!
