      As a NY state licensed psychologist I cannot tell you how many personality disordered people (aka people with narcissistic and psychopathic traits) are in our field. It would SHOCK you. There are some VERY sick people in our field. Read about Parth Gandhi a psychologist who murdered his son after abusing his wife for years. Then read about James Walcott in the UK who killed his parents. Yeah, some of the biggest nuts are in my field.

      Now sure if you would know but could trauma to one side also cause multiple brain bleeds to other areas?

    • @tammieanderson3045
      @tammieanderson3045 3 месяца назад

      @@valval347 there are 3 types of skull fractures. 1) Linear - which is a line down the bone 2) Depressed fracture- which is a crushing or pushed in bone to the brain 3) suture line fracture- a fracture along the suture line. I can’t remember if they said what type this baby had but I assume it’s a depressed fracture due to the brain bleeds. So, when the skull is push into the brain it shifts the brain and causes severe swelling. The soft spots on the baby’s head will swell. This is what ultimately causes death. This is how they know that the injury was just prior to the 911 call. The swelling is what caused the brain bleeds on the opposite side of the head. It from the swelling causing vessels to tear away as the brain herniates. The one thing I noticed was she said the baby screamed and she got the baby a bottle and found the baby on the floor. The baby could not have screamed after the head injury. Imagine the worst migraine you have ever had and x it by 100. To scream or cry you have to create pressure for air to collect in lungs and you to push it out to make noise. When you have severe brain swelling you also have severe swelling in the spinal cord. With the brain swelling and this happens immediately after injury your brain can’t function to coordinate crying. You would be listless unable to process thoughts or coordination. The only function you would have is possibly breathing and circulation that’s it. The most primitive functions. The baby could not turn over to fall out of a bouncy seat/ bed because at 6 weeks they do not have neck muscles which is what is need for the ability to turn over. I think we will get more info as time goes by but what I’ve seen in my career is a combination of shaking with a head slam/ blow . Sorry to say it but I’ve seen this many times in my career. And it’s horrible and even more horrible if he had survived it. My heart goes out to the parents. They will feel guilty their entire lives.

    • @ZachDift-kc4nk
      @ZachDift-kc4nk Месяц назад +2

      @Jlynnjoneski I agree with you - that’s what I was thinking. Maybe she was trying to pick up the baby with one arm bc she claimed she was holding a bottle when saw him and dropped the baby to the floor at standing height or even at sitting height?
      Then maybe to minimize the blame or consequences, she might have lied to the doctors about “finding” the baby on the ground rather than admit she dropped him, not realizing the extent of his injuries which made her look guilty for even worse things.
      I heard of a real life case in which a night nurse (they watch your newborn baby at night, feed them and change them, so the parents can sleep thru the night instead of having to wake up every couple of hours) fell asleep on a rocking chair while bottle feeding a less than 2 month old newborn baby she was holding in her arms.
      At some point the new born baby boy fell from her arms and fell to the ground and even tho he fell from her arms at sitting height, he ended up fracturing his skull and needed to be rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.
      Newborn babies are extremely fragile - even falling from your arms to the ground headfirst while you’re at sitting height is enough to fracture their skulls in many cases.

      @akitalover As an actual mother and grandmother let me say that a 6 week old can indeed hold its head up. In fact, a one week old can, unfortunately, squirm and wriggle and effectively bounce they little selves right out of an (old school) bouncy seat, on to the table the bouncer was unwisely placed upon, on to the floor and then roll UNDER the table in the 60 seconds the clueless first time mother takes to run down the hall and grab a load of laundry out of the dryer. I was that foolish mother and am eternally grateful my newborn landed on relatively dense and thick wall to wall carpeting. Futhermore, he’d rolled so far under the dining room table that his Dad and I couldn’t even find him at first…That being said, given the brawny structure of modern baby swings/bouncers that I’m familiar with, I don’t see how a baby could wrest itself from the pillowy depths and fling his body with enough force to cause the injuries described in the report. Simply horrifying😢

    I was an extremely young mum when I had my first two children. I can’t believe I’m admitting this to be hated but I need to tell your audience. I had a six week old and a 2 year old, I was folding clothes in the bedroom and both my babies were on the bed in front of me, as I turned to put the clothes in the drawer my 2 year old rolled my 6 week old off the bed. She cried I screamed rang an ambulance who came out and she didn’t have a mark. I was told by the paramedic (24 years ago) that babies rarely get harmed when rolling onto a soft landing as their bones are still spongey. He also said you would do more damage shaking them at this age. I don’t know I’m not a Dr all I know is my baby fell off the bed onto a really thick carpet and cried. She was absolutely fine. I’ve since had two more so four girls in total and not one of them have ever had a broken bone, smashed lip nothing! They have been wrapped in wool since that day. They are 27-16 healthy and happy so don’t come for me peeps 👊🏼

      My two oldest are exactly two years apart (same birthday) and that kind of thing happened to me as well. My daughter called her brother, her bubba, and tried to pull him off the bed to take care of him, and my back was turned as well. She always wanted to be the mom even as a grownup. Called ambulance too. Was told that I would learn.
      Once I had grandchildren I was not as alarmed, however when my oldest granddaughter fell into the stone masonry of our fireplace I freaked out. She was 3 and was she more impressed that a fire truck came, while all of us were losing our minds. Mom, dad, grandparents, we were all frantic. The Dr told us she would have raccoon eyes for a week or so, and I bawled my eyes out. We cut pool noodles and padded every sharp corner of the house afterwards. We have a photo of her face and she laughs when she sees it now. But in the moment, if you are normal, you literally fear for the worse.
      Sure we can’t wrap our kids in bubble wrap but we can try.

    Another take. The father lost his job six months ago. The gofundme is $78k. Nicole alerts parents of the marks on one twin. They take him to the hospital and leave the other with Nicole. Why wouldn’t they take both to have them both looked at? Then the other twin falls and Nicole calls 911. That twin dies from injuries. No one looks over a baby before babysitting. It’s like renting a car. You look over the car for damage so you don’t get blamed. How many times have you babysat and NEVER examined the child prior to parents leaving??!! How do we know the injuries didn’t preexist? Why would they leave one baby? This makes zero sense. Again. $78k reasons. There is more to this story.

    Just now catching the replay. This sounds really suspicious. I’m a
    great-grandmother and I’ve been raising children since I was 14.
    There was a local to me, case that a 12 year old child was babysitting all her siblings and she just lost it and redrum one of the siblings. Someone with an extensive education does not equal maturity.
    Tragic case and I am sending my prayers to all of them.

      When you're doing a PhD it's a certain kind of torture but you meet other people in the same boat at conferences etc and bond with them. Not saying this is how they met but, they met somehow with a similar background.

      Please rather ask on email (which about 55 people did), because 1. Then I don't miss it 2. We focus on one case at a time 3. Then I can gauge the interest of the audience to consider covering.

    The bouncy chairs I'm familiar with are for gently jiggling newborns to sleep. They sit right on the floor and are almost like a hammock suspended on a wire that arches up off the floor. The baby would already be on the floor. Falling out, although unlikely, would be like rolling over. I don't think it would hurt a newborn.

      Maybe the bouncer was not on the floor. When even a lot of people with kids seem not to be aware that babies that age are unpredictable so do non-parents in the first place. She could have put the bouncer with the unstrapped kid in it on a table for better handling, then went to the kitchen but does not want to admit it. Maybe she is just evil. 🤷🏼🙂

    The most proof is from the medical examiner who would know the difference between an accidental death and homicide. As far as her babysitting, that doesn’t surprise me if the parents didn’t have anyone there and wanted to see their friend.

      I *assumed* a bouncy chair would be one of the leaned back vibrating chairs with straps. 6 weeks is a little small for it (especially considering he was a twin, so probably smaller than most 6 week olds) but even if he fell out (how would he get out of the strap?) the injuries still don’t add up.

    I'm assuming the type of bouncy seat they're talking about sits literally only an inch or so off the floor. My son had one as an infant (he's 23 now!) and it promoted sleep for him. The worst that might happen is he'd slide down a little bit and his feet would slide to the floor... but never did he "fall out" of it. The vibrations are very gentle and soothing. I can't imagine a 6 week old in any other type of bouncy thing? Was the bouncy chair placed on a table? That's the only way I could see a fall injuring an infant in that context? But maybe I've got this all wrong? Regardless, this woman is HIGHLY suspicious!!!

    I'm speechless 😢.
    There's no smoke without fire. Babies at that age are so fragile... No way they would fall on their own. If the injures are previous, the doctors will know it.
    The fact that she is very good at academics means nothing! The facts are very suspicious. All this is so sad.

    Most moms do not use babysitters for 6 week olds 🧐mom is typically still on maternity leave and only use their family I never would allow anyone to watch my infant of 6 weeks

    • @Angelface11
      @Angelface11 3 месяца назад +3

      That's simply not true. Lots of jobs have no maternity leave and yes many moms do have people help and even watch them so they can nap or shower etc.

    • @calholli
      @calholli Месяц назад

      I said the same thing.. 6 weeks old is practically still new born; why would you ever leave your baby with someone? It makes no sense at all. At 6 weeks, the baby still can't even hold it's head up; why would you have it in a bouncy chair?? Nothing about this makes any sense.

  • @MeriV
    @MeriV 3 месяца назад +7

    Babies that are 6 weeks old would never be put in a bouncy chair that sits up. They can’t even hold their heads up completely. Not to mention their feet have to touch the floor to bounce the chair. It’s many more months before that happens.

    • @marthaj67
      @marthaj67 3 месяца назад +7

      More than likely, the chair was one of those infant bouncy chairs on an inclined frame with a t-strap harness that comes up between the baby's legs and snaps on either side. They sometimes vibrate and have a toy bar across for the baby to look at. Some also rock. It wouldn't have been one of those upright bouncers that look like walkers.

  • @Flowergirl2012
    @Flowergirl2012 3 месяца назад +5

    I find this one really distressing, I have lots of questions, like why at 6weeks old you would leave your twin children in the care of someone that has no children? Babies can be hard to look after if you have no experience not to mention leaving two newborns with her. Where did the parents go and for how long? Could the children have been injured before Nicole started looking after them? Why wouldn't the parents take both children with them to the hospital, especially with one showing signs injury why not take both to be checked out? Seems strange they were happy to leave their children with someone inexperienced. Lastly apart from feeding, burping and changing nappies newborns pretty much sleep the rest of the time so why leave one in a bouncer, six weeks is a bit young to go into a bouncer.
