I do like and respect Tank for bringing True R&B Legends but because the Whispers are my favorite than all, I am hurt to hear the twins using profanity that makes me re-evaluate my listening for their music. Beside the Lord, I have always been attentive to the Whipers singing. I love them for ever and a day just do not like the profanity that comes from one of the twins mouth. I will listen to their music but not when they are giving information about the past and the future about R&B because the cursing language. However, inspite of, I am a Whispers fan for live when they are singing. Love and Blessings
The cursing is just an expression of how they were treated in the past and how different the industry is today. I'm sure there has been times when you had a situation where you was mad and used a few curse words we are all human and no one is perfect . I'm glad that they shared the information about the industry in the past and what they went through to pave the way for the artist of today. The Whispers have and always will be my favorite group.They suffered a lot of racism and still made it to be one of the greatest R&B groups of all times who have not received the recognition that they truly deserve . i didn't take the cursing as a bad thing the hosts were cursing also but everybody has their own opinion

Agree💯 absolutely !! That cursing is part of their genuine and non fake portrayal, but honestly telling their story.. their “truth” told freely, at ease, authentic and to be oneself in unscripted interview before maybe millions.. if there were rules, such as no profanity, then the host of the show would not have opened the door by using curse words, really part of cognitive expression, however a turnoff for some are non-offensive to the majority viewer-listeners. Only God knows the ❤️ of man.. He does not judge imperfect people living in an imperfect world bc of His forgiveness still in 21st Century.. it’s like what century do we live in !? ✝️💕☮️
Took my mom and aunt to see them when they came to Houston, Tx. It was the Whispers, Frankie Beverly and the Maze, & Freddie Jackson. When I tell you The Whispers had us partying the whole time. Nobody was sitting down! From Rock Steady, Lady, and my favorite In The Mood, it was a class in showmanship! No auto tune, live performance, instrumentation, and smooth steps! I grew up on old school music. I am glad I got to experience this group in concert! Love them!! ❤

Finally someone was smart enough to acknowledge the Mighty Whispers. The Whispers is Royalty in my family. These Legends can sing anything and should be awarded and compensated for their major contributions to the music 🎶 industry. Every award on every platform should go to the Whispers. The interview was awesome. I feel like I got to know my music heroes much better. In addition, this interview provided a lot of insight on many levels of the music business. These guys are very humble. I hope they come back with some new music. Leaveil is very hilarious.
I think this episode actually dropped the most Gems. That seems impossible consider the Greatness of virtually every episode. This is the ultimate Authority on R&B.

Y'all did the damn thing for us OG'S today. I'm 51 years old and every time I would hear Rock Steady and And The Beat Goes On as a child......I would go AWF!!!!!!! My Dad would be washing his car and we would have WBLS radio station from New York bumping from the living room. NOW....The Whispers got me in trouble because I was singing IN THE MOOD in Sunday School........Hey, I was 8.....OK!!!😂😂 This Group brings back very good memories as a child. VERY GOOD EPISODE!!!❤❤❤

The 70s Whispers . . . as pure as gold. Chocolate Girl, Olivia, Love At Its Best, etc. Not another group or artist can write love making lyrics like the Whispers. Never used inappropriate or degrading lyrics, yet they made you feel love, made you feel like you want to make love.

The fact that Tank and J have found such a great pod pocket to be in -first! And secondly that they are continuing to give the iconic legends in the R&B game their flowers! I love watching weekly. Especially in a day and time where the younger generation doesn’t really understand the magnitude and impact that the older generation has had on past and the current state of music! I love it!

I love, love, love the Whispers. I had their very first album and became a fan for life. I have attended almost every concert when they came to the DMV area. The professionalism,quality and the unity they have exemplified will live forever. It would be nice if the younger artists would show their appreciation by including the Whispers in their music. I miss seeing Nicholas perform with you all, but I know that he is in Heaven applauding everything that you are doing to keep the group relevant. @@robertn2813 you know a lot of his music that had love things to him weren't considered to be ballets because they were more mid to up-tempo. They're AKA his estate are going to remake a lot of his love songs into ballads. Though many of Luther songs were love oriented miniware mid-tempo to up-tempo and that is what removes most of his music from being ballads. Luther did not like slow tempo songs you remember him first coming out he arranged his vocals and his lyrical content to be like that of scatting or even rapping. Luther was heavy on that type of stuff those vocal tricks in Word play sensibilities

I never knew the full story of them! the Whispers they are my mom's favorite group!!!! Makes since!!! I'm 54 and originally from the Bay!!! I know J's dad and even met him and his brothers when they were kids!! I was in a local group out of Richmond Ca. one of my groups members went on to be in the Sons of the funk and another went on to play for Industry legends like Angela Winbush. I just produce as a hobby these days it's like my side chick lol it keeps me balanced!! I'm a real R&B head till I'm not here no more!! Glad Tank and J are doing these shows. Glad they are using their platform to get the full just due to Legendary R&B artist whose music are the reason some of us are here.

This is Great ! I've been singing and collecting The Whispers Music over 50yrs ! And like many others in these comments have always craved that they got more respect and acknowledgement down through the years ! If there was such a thing as giving out " Retro Grammys " they would get one for many of their legendary albums !

Oh my GAWD! This interview is a blessing to me. I truly love, appreciate and admire the Whispers. So much so, that I play their music in my home and car frequently. Okay, so my age is showing, 😁 but that's a good thing. Back to the Whispers.....These guys are AUTHENTIC, CLASSY and ICONIC. No disrespect to the younger generation, but they could LEARN a lot from these guys. They don't make em like the Whispers no more. Their music has stood the test of time. I was just watching a few of their music videos, "In The Raw" and "Keep On Loving Me". The Whispers represented themselves as gentlemen. Because they are gentlemen.
