It’s prolly just your evolutionary response thinking you’re looking at a dead body honestly. Looking at dead bodies gives you a similar feeling of unease. But at the same time dead bodies do tend to look like dolls and unreal which is an evolutionary response to not freak out and die cause of freaking out after all our ancestors were all on their own

@@b07xjust Look up gore pictures. It has a similar if not same effect depending on the picture. It’s prolly just the same natural response we have to seeing dead bodies. Evolution made it so we don’t fully see dead bodies in a realistic way. They look more like dolls which is a natural response in order for you not to break down and die cause you saw a dead body. In a world where everyone is on themselves it’s quite a useful function
I wouldn't say the Sonic CGI is "scary" but it's definitely not portraying Sonic's look, which makes people say they're "uncomfortable" most likely because it doesn't quite look like him@@b07x

I have a theory, it's probably an instinct we have to stop us from procreating with dead people. When you're dead, your body rots and makes your face look (obviously) uncanny, similar to the faces in the Uncanny Valley.

It’s prolly just a fear of dead bodies. A lot of dead bodies look more like dolls when you take the messy bloody part away. Seen decapitated heads and honestly they don’t look human. After all dead bodies aren’t supposed to move and evolution made us see dead bodies in an unrealistic way to cope better with reality meaning you won’t break down and die when you see dead bodies immediately at least some times that works
I think the simplest answer is often the best.
I imagine that the uncanny valley exists due to something look almost but not quite human could be so people would avoid the sick, dead bodies, people with deformities etc…
The other answer is that there are monsters and spirits that can replicate humans that are still living among us today

i think so too. people that looked sick were always a large threat to humans

The photo isnt unsettling to me, probably because im just desensitised to alot of the uncanny valley at this point. I dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. Probably a bad thing because if we end up getting invaded by shapeshifting sub-surface lizards then it may take me a bit longer to recognise them than someone else.

when i was younger i used to be very scared of "plastic humans" in museums and thing like that and seing these images...i can't even look at it, I want to turn my head around not to see it.

It doesnt really affect me but the only reason I can think of is that we've possibly evolved to be weary of other humanoid species (think neanderthals etc.) that try to blend in with us and attack us, so we feel weird when something is doing a decent imitation but we dont feel weird if it is a poor imitation like a very bad doll or something. EDIT: After actually watching the video I realise that we came to similar conclusions lol
