Happy Chimo New Year to you and yours Darren! Nice tutorial. I like the way you conserved the tag end of the thread when you started. Also the way you peeled and rolled the schlapen fluff. Really nice tie. Mr Mnfisherman is a cool little guy too, I watched his unboxing video from a close out sale, I missed out going to mine, wish I had an uncle like his too! I snooped for info on the fly and next door in the "up next" stuff and watched Andy Burk tie this and paint some freaky clown fish, pretty awesome work. I didn't realize he illustrated his book too, didn't know he had a book. Saw yours on pint....t 🙊 too. This lake spawned a lot of varients (spawn is the character Burk's clown trout look like) of existing patterns. Well we got blasted with snow and cold. Now really cold temps and dangerous wind chill. Three more months before I can comfortably test out "the flies" , other than the bath tub ;-) Cheers 👍😎☕
Chimo and Happy New Year. The thread trick I picked up from Skylar Hardman. ruclips.net/channel/UCPQR4EwhpJ2ATL1kTDPvGzw I watched Mr Mnfisherman do his unboxing as well. I hope that he does some more videos down the road. I watched the Andy Burk after I published. I didn't know he had a book, I'll need to check that out. He had some patterns in the Kauffman Fly Patterns book.
Piscator Flies Yeah google is good. I forgot who A. Burk was, familiar name, I looked at fly catalogs too then I checked out the channel's videos and he had one of him painting the clown trout. Pretty awesome, you should check that out too. The cover illustration of his book had the same style, red underpainting etc, so I figured he did it. I got material conservation from Al Beatty's tips column in Fly Tyer and his RUclips channel. I've seen Tim from tightline do it to and a few others. I always think of production tyers like you when I see stuff like that. I hate wasting stuff to the point of hoarding lol. Thanks for the Skylar link, I'll check it out. Some day I'll have a channel of random eclectic stuff but I'll probably get 3 strikes and your out or plagued by trolls. Some channels are ridiculously loaded with them. I don't know why it's called "social" media, lol! Take care my friend ✋😎🐲 ⬅ similar to Burks clown trout, freaking awesome imho. Lol 😂
I'm glad to hear that you got the flies. That Tim is a good uncle to share. I hope that you get a chance to fish themor that they are good models for your own tying. Thanks for watching!
