I went for a fitting at PXG London 2 weeks ago, went wanting Gen 6 or 7….git fitted for the Black Ops. Can’t wait to try them at weekend. My specs were way “better” than I thought I would be matched to. Previously had the 0211’s. Keep up the good work Gaz, your Channel has rapidly become one of my Go To Channels x
I did try the black ops just for my own knowledge in Scotland. I can honestly say, it’s the most forgiving iron I’ve ever tried. Let us know how you get on with them after a few rounds. 👌🏼👌🏼
I love Sam's thorough approach to fitting. If i could afford a nice new set, I'd definitely make the trip to see him! Interestingly, the SD for spin on the Gen 7 was much higher than the other two clubs, so many of the shots would probably have had very similar spin across all three models. Great work as usual guys, well done!
Now this is the review I've been waiting for! I play the PXG 0211 DC model from 2021. I went for a PXG fitting and the Gen 7 XP performed the best for me (my 7 iron swing speed is~78-80 mph). I didn't buy yet, and scheduled another fitting in 3 weeks to dial in shafts etc. The Gen 6's are significantly lower priced than the Gen 7's now, and I really want to know if I went with the Gen 6's over my current 0211 would they be better. I think so. As you could guess, the PXG fitter told me that PXG doesn't release any products unless they outperform the prior models. But for a 16 HCP golfer like me would there be that big of a difference between the Gen 6's and Gen 7's if I'm looking to improve performance over my current irons?
The only 2 real points I could tell was one, the refreshed look, and two, the softer feel and sound with the “thing” they put in the head. I don’t think there was much or any difference in numbers.
@@garymartingolfThanks mate, I appreciate that. Believe me there are a great great many reasons apart from golf fitting that I wish I were UK based as well 😂
Another great, informative video. Only changed my irons fairly recently so budget doesn’t allow an upgrade just yet but I’d definitely go to Sam when the time comes. You mentioned on a previous video Sam does a bag MOT. Can you share more on what this includes or is it an upcoming video?
So if a pro needs these clubs to have the lofts weakened to get launch and land angles, then every amateur needs that even more. Which begs the question, who are these clubs for?!
Very good point! Maybe a higher handicap wouldn’t compress the ball as much, they’d present more loft? I don’t actually know, I’m just trying to think of a theory. I’ll have to ask Sam, surly they must be a reason apart form just making them look like they go miles.
I am debating between the PXG Gen 7 XP or the PXG Black Ops 5 - PW , GW other than the 520 canadian dollars difference in price I am still having a tough time choosing ( I know first world problems ) I am 59 and play with a 8 handicap arthritis and father time is catching up to me so i am looking for something forgiving and easy to hit and something for distance also your thoughts ? or anyone elses is welcomed thx cheers from Canada OH or should i be looking at the GEN 6 ?
Black Ops are the ultimate in forgiveness! You won’t beat them, XP aren’t as forgiving in my opinion. What you get with the XP in my opinion is a slightly better engineered club that just looks 10/10 in quality for the absolute golf pervert. You could potentially go XP gen 6 if you want the most quality club, but you will sacrifice abit of forgiveness.
@@garymartingolf mmmm still on the darn fence lol 60 % for the black ops / 20 % Gen 7 P / 20 % Gen 6 P if you were an 8-10 handicap what would you actually go with or is the best overall club for the price ? thx Gaz sorry for all the questions but i wanna make sure is all lol cheers

Fantastic video again with Sam and the more I see PXG irons the more I think yes please
I went twice. Two different days. Got the gen7 p. Didn’t even pay for a fitting. Great experience.
Watching and listening to Sam fit clubs never gets old
I wish you was uk based, love go get you down for a fit.

Scary how he stands so close ⛳️
I have PXG gen 3 0311P irons , best irons I ever had, been playing for 26 years, won't be changing them anytime soon.

I think it’s normally the opposite.
Amateurs benefit from decreases in loft because they don’t have the angle of attack for higher lofted clubs.

Try and pint or 2... it may help
I would never buy anything PXG. The Japanese JDM clubs are much better. Plus Pros without equipment contracts don’t use PXG equipment, wonder why
You wasted your time watching this video then!
