  • It was unexpectedly hard to find any clips from Pixar's Onward. Gosh, this movie is so underrated :( Hence I used the Russian one (the only one I had). That's why it's a single clip not in English, if you're confused.

    Beautiful video, loved the editing and many of your choices. I mostly agree with you about Anna, Judy, Po and, even if I am not a fan of "How to train your Dragon" franchise, Hiccup. Your point of view as a more grown up person that look back at his past was very touching indeed. Excellent job😉

    Aww Judy! She is just adorable and honestly she has many realistic elements, and ofc she her character grows up. Hiccup reminds me Judy in a way, his character also grows up and it's not just the same person in every movie, in fact he changes through every movie. Even at the end of the Hidden World we saw the ordinary (in a good way) father Hiccup.
    And Po! Come on, I laugh every time!

      Hiccup and his trilogy are one of the few examples of how to actually make a good trilogy and a truly growing character. Kung Fu Panda is another perfect trilogy for me. It seems like Dreamworks is really good at making trilogies!

    I've waited a while for this one ;), a couple hours to be exact. But at last, it's here, and I liked your comment about Raps and Cass. And gosh, that scene you picked is a lot better than I remembered it. Anna is here, of course, I would like someone to really analyze her someday, maybe I'll do it in the far future. As for now, I am not sure if I prefer her over Elsa for the same reasons as you do. But, I am in this phase where I am not sure what to think about either of these characters. Historically I have always preferred Anna because, in Frozen, she's a lot simpler to nail down while Elsa was and still is quite difficult to understand fully. I used to justify Anna being better because of how she is kinda the embodiment of pure determination, she will do anything she deems necessary, but she is still naive but also caring; it's certainly a nice combination, but I haven't really bothered to make my mind about how Frozen 2 changes this, and then we have Elsa which I still like, but I am not as sure if she's worse now.
    For the rest, I don't actually have any strong opinions about. Though, you would put Ben Solo at number 1 :O? You wanna talk about it ;)?

      @Anna2001  3 года назад

      Do I want to talk about Ben Solo? DO I?! I can literally talk about him for hours! XD I mean he's such an interesting and complicated character, and redemption arc being my weakness, and Adam's acting (the best part probably, the man's just too talented). The best character of the sequel trilogy. I'll fight anyone to prove it. I mean, I like Rey too but Ben's character is undoubtedly deeper and, for me personally, more interesting to watch developing (*cough* and also he's not a Mary Sue *cough* ). His talk with Han in TROS -- I swear I bit my lip so hard it started bleeding a little in the theatre. It was so intense. And then he's with a blue lightsaber. And then his SMILE (god, that moment was so good). And then he died, completely out of nowhere -_- Yeah. That was disappointing and really unnecessary. But screw it even. I'm sure he became a force ghost, even though he wasn't shown in the epilogue.
      But the ending... Ooohhhh. I really don't like TROS's ending :( Even though it's been almost a year I'm still not over it. I thought, after 8th episode's philosophy, that Rey and Ben will finally bring Balance to the Force, end up as grey Jedi or something. But no. Rey is a Jedi and Light side rules! Simple! Why even attempting at depth and philosophy of Balance? Pfft.
      Okay. I'm calm. I'm calm. Just picture smiling Ben and everything will be fine. Yeah, that's better 😌

      @@Anna2001 He's certainly the most interesting character of the sequel trilogy. The whole situation where he is drawn to the light as a dark force user is one of the most unique thing of the whole trilogy, though I think they could've done something more with that. And I agree that how the force is represented really simplistic in this trilogy. But, I don't think balance is such a divine solution either. I would be totally fine with the dark side of the force being some twisted, corrupted version of the light side, and that is why the light must prevail. But you have to make that clear so you can present these two philosophies with actual nuance. Oh and remember when these two factions had actual philosophies and a long and complicated history? Yeah, thanks Disney for just erasing all of that from the new canon. Alright, I should calm down. Ben's good though, I don't have anything particularly to complain about him more than the things that apply to the movies as a whole.

      @@8is @ew Come to think of it, I agree with you. Light would also be a good enough solution IF they actually tried to explain why. Even though I prefer the Balance outcome, I would accept the Light one just fine. But... You know how there are two kinds of videos: with comments and without. In videos with comments the maker of the video tries to tell you something, explain why he made such choices. It doesn't mean the viewer will agree with the maker's opinion but the maker at least explains his point of view. If there are no comments the maker just presents the viewer with the fact that he likes and dislikes certain things, without any further explanation. TROS was definitely the second type. That's why, it seemed, no one liked the ending. They simply didn't explain why they made such a choice. And it's devastating, really. To end a whole saga so lazily and as if they didn't really care :(
