Hi there, I’m on a canal boat and because of the horrendous price of conventional 12v fridge freezers I’ve been forced to buy a under counter Mains powered unit that runs from my inverter, although the unit runs ok it does draw 60w + I have to keep the inverter on 24/7 which does bring my batteries down, therefore have to run my main engine every day for 3 hours to recharge battery bank. Can I ask how far from your leisure batteries did you have the Totalcool? Did you experience any voltage drop? Also as I live on the boat full time would the Totalcool be strong enough to be used 24/7 like a domestic set up? Thanks
Hi dingnextstop, we have just used for for a 28 day trip around Northern Europe, yes we were driving most days, however we use electricity for everything including cooking. The power draw on the freezer, is fairly low and only pulled about 10 to 20w once chilled down. So i would say it works very well as a full time solution, but you would have to test it on your system, we have 400Ah of lithium if that helps by the way.
Hi Mychills123. Thank you for watching and posting your question. Yes the unit has two sections the smaller of the two is a fridge section, it you like you can make the whole thing a fridge by just setting the temperature to that of a fridge
Also Can you stand a 2pt bottle of milk upright in the fridge area? As we use Oat milk as well is it tall enough to take those cartons please? Obviously using the freezer area would just freeze them making it unusable until thawed… thanks
We LOVE ours !! Such a great company too :)
For sure, it was a game changing on our Arctic trip.
thank you for your review especially including how it used onboard battery. it was enough make final choice and buy

Hi can this be used as a fridge and a freezer combined or do you have to use as only fridge or only freezer thanks

Yes, we use UHT milk which fits in there perfectly 1L versions, if you only put milk in there you could get 6 bottle in that area.
