So much info packed into one video. Every step of her instruction is so important. That follow through over your shoulder is what keeps that ball down and in bounds. That transfer of energy from left to right leg is what gives it pace and consistency. Pay close attention to every step. I love this video so much

Thanks for another good video. It would be nice to show the grip to know where to place the 2nd hand on a grip that barely has room for one hand.

What grip are you using on groundstrokes:
    Bkhb =
    Fhd=
At which approx. location or shot, when you're transitioning to the net, do you switch to the Continental grip?
Ever use the Continental from the backcourt for fhd & bkhd?

I really didn't expect pickleball players to use two handed backhand. This is so interesting!

I have a awesome powerful two handed tennis backhand always my best stroke. With Pickleball my handle is 5.25 length selkirk epicmamped. is that handle long enough for a two handed backhand my hands did not seem to fit on the grip. even though my hands are on the smaller side. i am going to try this. i have been looking for a paddle with a longer grip is that necessary? thank you so much awesome videos always!!!

these are great questions:What grip are you using on groundstrokes:
    Bkhb =
    Fhd=
At which approx. location or shot, when you're transitioning to the net, do you switch to the Continental grip?
Ever use the Continental from the backcourt for fhd & bkhd?
I too wonder about her backhand grip. Was there ever a reply to those question posted by Nancy Jensen 7 months ago.

I think if u dont change the right hand to a backhand grip you are going to hit it flat (no topspin)

Can you show how you grip the paddle. I find it hard to fit both hands on and end up digging my fingernails into the opposite hands. thanks.

  • @imhody

Is the grip of right hand changed to a backhand grip (bevel 1 - right knuckle) so topspin can be hit ? Otherwise it is a flat drive (no topspin)?

Can you get pickleball rackets with a longer handle? I play tennis and there is lots of room for me to get my hands on the handle for a double backhand....however, when using my pickleball racket it seems awkward to use both hands as there isn't much room to grab with both hands.
    Thank you.

Loved watching you two hit back and forth. Was trying to see your grip on your two handers but couldn’t quite see. Since the pickleball paddle’s handle is so much shorter than tennis, you had to be overlapping.

I really feel this technique is a carryover from tennis and unnecessary. I’ve never experienced a player using this and gaining something from moving your dominant (even slightly) to accommodate a second hand on the smaller paddle grip. Imo

I’ve never understood why people want to use a two handed backhand. Tennis players do it because of the weight of the ball and the momentum behind it for control purposes. That is not a problem in pickleball. Using two hands limits reach and despite what the player said, because of the lightness of the paddle and ball one can generate a lot more torque using one hand. Plus two hands also limits the amount of wrist you can use. I played racquetball for 35 years and I’ll run around a forehand to hit a backhand.
