This is why Pain is my favourite villain in the entirety of Naruto. Even after receiving numerous pulverzing blows from Naruto in his demon fox mode, he accepts that his adversary's anger is justified, and the only reason he stands opposed to him is because his pain (of losing his parents, his friends and entire childhood) is much greater. You have to respect the sincerity of his words.
Well said. He was a man who was trying to do what he thought was best for the world at the time. He had no ill will towards his enemies, he was just on a “righteous” mission. Sure he was extremely misguided, but I thought it was admirable how driven he was

The part where pain is being chased by naruto just before chibaku tensei was my favourite scene as a kid. I love that characters are not so detailed.

The "cartoony" look of the animation in this fight really gives off this vibe that these two are on a different level than everyone else. The exaggerated movements and hyperbolic expressions convey a feeling of surrealness. Love it.

I’ve always thought that. A lot of people don’t like the artwork in this fight, but I’ve always seen it as these two moving so fast and exerting so much power that their movements are not able to be captured by regular eyes.

Remember y’all, this is extremely painful for Naruto as well. His bones readjust to mimick Kurama’s (whose body structure is like a Humanoid Fox) and he feels them move. The chakra cloak also burns him, I can’t imagine how painful that must be.
I believe when he fought orochimaru the 4th tailed had to break open Naruto's jaw to eat the chakra ball

It’s crazy when you think about how strong is the rinnegan. Nagato was doing this with only one path. After that they probably thought it’s too much power so they didn’t use the rinnegan full abilities anymore. Madara was spamming limbo and sauske spamming substitution jutsu. Just imagine if sasuke decided to use full powers of his eye
I don't think sasuke has all of the rinnegan abilities pain has animal path probably because contracts with the summons. I think it's half of the abilities

You lose the Rinnegan user and their two eyes to resurrect others. That is the cost of the Rinne Rebirth jutsu. If you think about it that way, it's a pretty fair trade-off, seeing as how broken the Rinnegan are.
Sasuke only has one Rinnegan. His other eye is still a Mangekyo Sharingan.

Why people say the animation is bad here is beyond me. I think the rubbery style combined with it being a ball of chakra vs a WiFi corpse adds to the uniqueness.

I always noticed how detailed the animations were, but I never really noticed that Pain's reactions are very unique.

... He's reacting like a CORPSE when he gets hit. It's creepy and unnerving and I never realized why until now.

I think 1:30 is the only one that matches your comment. He comes out of the ground with his back all bent almost as if his spine is snapped and his arms are all weird. Very creepy
