  • The Thunderbirds perform for people all around the world to display the pride, precision and professionalism the U.S. Air Force represents. Through air shows and flyovers, they aim to excite and inspire. In addition to showcasing the elite skills all pilots must possess, the Thunderbirds demonstrate the incredible capabilities of the Air Force’s premier multi-role fighter jet, the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
The pilots perform approximately 30 maneuvers in a demonstration. The entire show, including ground and air, runs about an hour and fifteen minutes. The season lasts from March to November, with the winter months used to train new members.

I’m always amazed at your skills. My wife’s uncle was killed when she was 10ish, he was one of the pilots for Canadian Golden Hawks. She can’t remember his name, but I will do some research and do my best to find any info I can. She told me how amazing and sad it was when they flew over the funeral in formation with his spot open. That’s all she remembers. They had one daughter. She (Octavia) remarried to an RCMP officer.
Thank you again for sharing your amazing skills.

My father gave me a self assembly plastic model of the F-16 Falcon for my 9th birthday (1989) and I have loved this aircraft ever since.
I studied and trained physically to qualify to be a fighter pilot for the Australian RAAF when I was eligible to apply. I was denied entry to fighter school because of ny family's medical history and my vision (not 20/20). I could get a ground role, but i turned it down as all i wanted to do was fly an F-18 Hornet.
From what I've been told, the requirements on vision and medical history is much looser now... wrong time for me.
Now, i just watch the incredible men and women that get to fly these magnificent aircraft for a living.

i love the fact the two small blades under the rear fuselage are one of the important secret aspects of the viper...they keep saying it is to protect the plane from hitting the tail bottom on the runway during take off or a landing but it is much much more than that, my fav plane of all time since i was a kid growing in a air force base (azores -Portugal)

I still want to know why the pilots in the Thunderbirds useful juice face mask and they do not fly nowhere near as dangerously close as the Thunderbirds I was just curious is that because of the variant of the type of plane is the F-16 less stable than the f-18 super hornet or is there something I'm missing as to why the Thunderbirds don't fly in such a tight formation curious?
