- What’s happening in this White House Down movie clip?
Helicopters approach the White House and start shooting at the terrorists. One of the choppers loses control and crashes. Meanwhile, John Cale (Channing Tatum from Magic Mike and Dear John) arrives on the roof where the terrorists are and shoots them one by one. But the soldiers in the helicopter shoot him before realizing he is on their side. Fortunately, John dodged the bullets. One of the terrorists prepares to launch a missile. John tries to stop him but fails. The missile hits the helicopter. However, the military had prepared to jump in case of danger. John continues to fight the terrorist.

What’s the movie White House Down about?
Divorced Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum from Magic Mike and Dear John) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Ali). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

I'm not a paratrooper, but I'm fairly confident this was a very poorly planned operation
This was stupid as heck. Most of the soldiers in the helicopter would had survived the crash since it was a low crash landing. The movie should had ended faster since most of the surviving soldiers would had regrouped and attempted a assault into the White House along with the main character. Fantasy movie here which is funny.

@@orangakevinalfayo585 I’m not a paratrooper but I’m confident that if the President needed to be rescued they would take the time to get together a sufficiently competent plan even if that meant they needed to wait an extra hour.

Underated movie. This is what 80s movies used to be like.. if it came out then. It would be considered a cult classic.

I liked this film better yet the other one gets sequels up the ass. This is a great 80s action movie plot. Even in the 90s it would’ve worked. Roland Emmerich is a beast with the big disaster type films.
There is a cheezy aspect to this film and it's basically die-hard. But the action and both Channing Tatum/Jamie Foxx's chemistry is so great it makes this a fun watch.

FGM-148 Javelin is a Anti Tank Missile Launcher but now is a Anti Aircraft Missile Launcher
actually the javelin can be used against helicopters, but not at that close range
Yeah they can be used to shoot down slow moving helis but I can't confirm whether it actually locks on or fires by line of sight

The distance from launch to impact is FAR too short to arm the warhead....but hey, that wouldn't be as cool!

Olympus has fallen got sequels because the enemy were always foreigners and this made domestic terrorists the enemy which hurt them with the domestic terrorist (or at least domestic terrorist sympathetic) audience. It’s messed up

The Javelin anti-tank missile is designed for tanks not aircraft
It has a direct attack mode used against targets like helicopters, its actually used as intended. Look it up if you dont believe me. :)
Any anti-tank missile will also take down a helicopter if you're not worrying about lock.
It does both roles

The instant that first helicopter got hit, I would have ordered the helicopters to unload with all rockets and minigun ammo on the roof until the roof is flattened and no thermal signatures remain then deploy soldiers.
Cant do that, hostages, they got civilians and members of Cabinet .
@@95ellington I meant only the rooftop. They could just flatten the rooftop only and because there are 2 floors the 2nd floor would be a barrier for the first floor which is where the hostages are.
@@jiaweichew3370 theres some chance for the building to collapse (even in rooftop). Also, what if the terrorist got a hostage on the roof? (Since the soldier think theres a chance of hostage on rooftop)

You’re right. A movie where they just tackle a single intruder would be infinitely times more entertaining than this. Obviously realism is the better approach.
