Downtown Dublin hosts 5th Annual Taste of Juneteenth Festival

Downtown Dublin celebrated their 5th Annual Taste of Juneteenth festival on Saturday. On June 19, 1865, enslaved Black people in Texas were free by executive decree, marking the end of slavery. The holiday was from then on called Juneteenth and has been celebrated by Black people for years. Fast forward to Saturday, people brought their lawn chairs, coolers, and families to learn about history, culture, and celebrate together as a community.
