I really don't understand the animosity Overthrow and some other youtubers have towards this channel, calling you out by name, and then the comment section on their videos getting a bit nasty. I think you guys fulfill different gaps in the disc golf marketplace of ideas, like their focus is on beginner all around game while yours is pushing through distance barriers if I had to classify them...which both have their place. Would love to know where this relationship across the internet went awry lol...
I do appreciate how you show off your students, all things being equal, it shows you care and shows ultimately performance gains, which if you're in that charging money for lessons space, you better ultimately get performance improvements and this is the kind of stuff that proves it.

Wrong guys. I guess you didn't pay attention to Josh videos. He saying slingshot method can be very dangerous because all the twisted joints and so on. No pro is doing what coach t does. I know he likes to say they are but there not. Josh has had many pros on his channel and has gotten a ton of info from them. How come slingshot can't get pros to validate his form like OT does. Discgolf backhand should be effortless when done correctly. But this channel makes it seem like an exercise. I like coach t and do agree with a few of his concepts.

@@ciromassa7322 my dude I did pay attention, I made no value proposition about the quality or qualifications of either channel. I’m wondering why this has been bubbling under the surface for months and months now, and is beginning to bubble over…I’m also not a person who follows someone just cause they’re a better marketer. You’ll fall into so many potholes in life if that’s your barometer.
But if you want me to…If you want to talk quali’s I do think josh who admittedly is the mid arm of his entourage throwing around 400 and golf shot 350, it’s weird he’s the coach when he has a 500ft arm behind the camera. Shouldn’t his camera guy be the guy? I appreciate this channel even if he doesn’t have every aspect of it correct approaching from an athlete’s perspective who is seeking to break through those distance barriers, and the video like above, while wholly and totally should be about the performance this kid can now throw, which is almost double his OT coach can do, it somehow isn’t because of the wider context. Slingshot I fully admit has a slight hole (from his public RUclips videos) in that brace and heel turn. His model is McBeth though who doesn’t do things unnecessarily that might injure himself so it’s on par, no more dangerous than anything else in disc golf and anyone else is doing.
A different idea or approach isn’t bad, it’s often good even if not totally correct because now you have an opinion that’s informed, particularly if you’ve tried any of their ideas, and that different philosophy may unlock something you didn’t understand before.
Bracing is important, Simon may literally be one of the best if not the best in the world at that perfect heel turn…It is the last link in a chain of mechanics that can take months or years to master that turns forward and rotational momentum into the flight of the disc and if you suck at it, it doesn’t matter how good anything else before it is. But calling people out that their method is going to get people hurt while you kiiiiind of butcher their ideas and your fans call them scammers in the comments is a bit crazy. It’s a different perspective and frankly it’s needed cause not everyone responds to the same ideas.

…..it does. That’s how the disc is able to come out. The hand comes through after the brace faster than the body. It literally can’t even release unless this is the case. Slingshot won’t even address basic criticism of his teachings. Even in this video he claims Eagle is moving his back leg first when it’s his entire body that’s moving forward. The back leg is transferring momentum, not creating it. It’s simply wrong

You have to break it down into smaller pieces and work on actually feeling out what your body is doing, not just doing the motion.
Similar to what the other guy said, but from a weightlifting background, I wouldn't have picked up much from these videos if I didn't have an understanding of the "mind muscle connection" we use in weight lifting and could feel which muscle groups should stretch and contract throughout different parts of the movement.
And similar to weight lifting, it's starting off slow and with light weights that allow you to consciously reinforce muscle activation for certain movements as second nature.
Just the idea, of using your non dominant leg (back leg) to begin any athletic movement or be the driving force for power is something that's gonna fall on so many deaf ears because they've never called on that leg to do anything before... so other muscle groups will be activated to compensate for a weakness.
Back to weight lifting... it's the same reason you'll see guys doing side lateral delt raises, and be working out their Traps instead of their deltoids 😂
