      Thank you, glad these are helpful… a few subscribers asked for them so I have pulled a few bits to cover the basics. Also planning on running a newby game to go through the very basics of the game.
      Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.

    Those building look great and must order some roads.
    Boards always look great and I mean this in a nice way, a source of envy too.

      Thank you, hoping the tractor factory will be finished over Christmas so we can do the factory assault… it is huge and will take up most of the table with plenty of scatter terrain!
      Thanks for the comment 👍🏻

    I can imagine step #9 of the boot camp:
    “Now you’ve played your first game of Bolt Action and are ready for a real wargame, go out and buy a copy of Chain of Command.”

      @ thanks, I will check them out, nearly bought an Egeloo 3D printer in the Black Friday sale… but just couldn’t justify buying one yet… but I am seriously tempted to!

    How much terrain should I be using for a North Africa table? I've got a neoprene mat from Galeforce 9 and a load of adobe buildings from Fogou Models, but not sure how much of the table I should be covering. Should there be wide open spaces, or would this make for a poor game? Do I need hills etc. to break it up a bit?

    • @theministryofminiatures
      @theministryofminiatures  Месяц назад +1

      Adobe buildings are great, you can use anything to break up the board, from some scrub or stone walls… or even a dried river bed, these are all fairly cheap or straightforward to buy/make and can quickly build your board.
      I always think about if it’s a town or open area. But always try to balance the board so it is equal cover for both sides.

    Hehe, just watched your battle report and you posted that video just in time:)
    By the way, if you remember me from previous boot camp video comments, I also printed Panzer 3, a medium howitzer for Germans, and accidentally printed Cromwell instead of crusader, despite that Cromwell wasn't used in the African campaign, I think it would be cool to paint it in desert camo

    • @theministryofminiatures
      @theministryofminiatures  Месяц назад +1

      Amazing, I would love to have a 3d printer… but I fear I would fill the house with tanks! Have been looking at some panzer I & II’s for my early war German army 👍🏻
      What make do you have?

    • @maximer4984
      @maximer4984 Месяц назад +1

      @@theministryofminiatures I'm using printers in my school to print, if I had space for a printer I would fill my room with tanks and miniatures too XD. The school has two Artillery Sidewinder x1
      I 3d printed one Panzer 2, but sadly layers clearly can be seen because I used a standard quality setting rather than the most detailed, because of that model feels less real:(

    • @theministryofminiatures
      @theministryofminiatures  Месяц назад +1

      @maximer4984 oh well… at least the others worked out 👍🏻

    On those spray painted hedges, I cant catch what you said they were made out of, did you say horse hair?

    • @theministryofminiatures
      @theministryofminiatures  Месяц назад

      Yes, it is Rubberised horse hair… great stuff for hedges and trees as you can pull it apart and it looks pretty good for hedge and trees, especially if you put flock on it 👍🏻

    • @sirrathersplendid4825
      @sirrathersplendid4825 Месяц назад +1

      Rubberised horsehair is used in upholstery, mainly for padding seats. It’s no longer made from actual hair and is now entirely synthetic. It’s sold in thick ‘sheets’, typically about A4 in size.

    • @theministryofminiatures
      @theministryofminiatures  Месяц назад

      That’s correct, loads on eBay for a pretty decent price… if you pull the sheets apart you can use them as hedge, bushes and trees, great stuff 👍🏻
