ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Friendly, clear, and to the point. Your training is worth its weight in gold! All tutors out there need to learn from you. Well done hun keep up that great work! x
I received a sewing machine for Christmas (and have been really wanting to learn and master the craft), and your videos so far have been SO helpful. I'm working on practicing my lines like the way you showed and it's REALLY good practice. I wish you luck in your journey through fashion school! I'm sure you'll be hearing from me more in your videos' comments. Feliz Navidad y Prospero Ano, chica!
Amy - you're amazing - so talented at teaching for someone so young; and the quality and clarity of your videos is also outstanding - some of the best demonstration videos I've seen on RUclips. You also have a very endearing personality, as you know. Go Girl ! I'm an instant fan !
Omg you have prefect timing in starting this new series!!! I was given a Singer sewing machine just yesterday and I don't have experience at sewing. I'm am so looking forward to seeing more vids! Thank you!
I like your style. Your tutorials are very easy to understand and super helpful without a bunch of extra information that I probably wouldn't remember anyways. Thank you for taking the time help us beginners, I can't wait to see my progress
you have inspired me to try sewing again! I bought a machine about 5yrs ago...made some pot holders...never finished since I got frustrated with the bias tape! Im going to try again!
Just subscribed because your tutorials are so helpful! Just got my first machine and know next to ZIP about sewing (I know base and lock stitches from cosmetology and the fact that there is such a thing called darts lol) oh and also that everything is inside out while worked on...anywho long story short your tutorials are so user friendly and easily comprehendable that I get so confident and inspired I just go start playing and gaining experience! Loving my new hobby and your tutorials along the way make it SO much more enjoyable and so much LESS frustrating
Thank you for making these videos, they are extremely helpful! I've never used a sewing machine before, so having some instruction and things to practice is good.
Hi Amy, thank you for doing these videos. I am so excited to learn to sew! I haven't taken the opportunity to look through all of your videos yet, and I was wondering if you have one on how to use a sewing pattern? If not, you should consider doing one! I bet a lot of beginners would really benefit from it!
Thank you somuch for these videos! My mother in law is teaching me to sew and told me to study terms and techniques while im home and your videos are great! My first project is going to be a romper for my son :)
I've been practicing on some scrap fabrics I had laying around, now I'll be able to do some new exercises to work on straightness. It comes a little easier to me because working a sewing machine as far as straightness is just like making a straight cut using a jigsaw. great and helpful video!
a few things ! 1. I think your the most adorable person ever! 2. your how to use a sewing machine tutorial for beginners is amazing! and 3. will you please make a how to make a kimono tutorial?
This is great! One of the issues I"m having right now is I'm trying to make hooded towels. On the hooded towels, I have to sew a decorative ribbon (which is about 1 inch wide) on a spot where the towel is folded (so the fabric isn't exactly level). Any tips for sewing straight in this situation?
Im working on a baby bubble blanket and im having issues with my new machine. The under thread is balling up on the bottom. Just watching your video has been inspiration to keep learning. Just curious if you maybe can do a video to lead me in the correct direction on doing a bubble blanket.
Hi Amy, you are so talented! thanks a lot for sharing your video.. I just want to know did you learn sewing in SF? If so could you recommend me the school? i wanted to learn the basic in person THANKS
Awesome Instructor; and Faithful, Obedient Disciple of Christ! Your voice is very pleasant; and you look & sound very sweet! =) Thanks A Million, God Bless with Perpetual Success! ~Add Love!™
Amy, I thought this series was great. As a inheritor of a sewing machine with a reaction of "what am I going to do with that" my interest was piqued when I watched your first video. Now im sewing more often than not. a great series for beginners to learn the basics. Thank You
Hi Amy... absolutely love your video.... I'm still watching but I had to pause to make this comment before I lose the thought. I'm a novice in every sense of the word and I noticed you started using a special ruler... what's the right name for that? Also I noticed on some videos where people put their material on a special table with grid lines.... what's that called too? In essence can you tell me what the tools of the trade are so that I can get started on projects effectively? Because when you go into patterns I would like to be able to follow. Otherwise from that really lovely. Please let me know cause I'll be learning from you.
thank you so much! :D a stainless steel ruler or the other one i use is a clear grid ruler :)...the grid line matt is called a self healing cutting matt :)
Thanks. One last thing. How much space do we need to work with. For beginners with not much to work with do you recommend the dining table and for those who have the financial resources to do so what type of table do you recommend?
Michelle Clayton-Brown i recommend the floor haha thats what i do, i feel like tables bother me for certain things, but thats just me :) do whatever feels comfortable to you..try the floor and the dining table and see what you like :)
+Jirah Udarbe I realize I may be late in letting you know but I think that has to do with the bobbin thread. I had a similar problem when my bobbin thread was not placed correctly and wasn't staying put in the knotch that guides the thread.
I LOVE UR BUTTERFLY RING! Where did you got it? FUN! VERY FUN TUTORIAL VIDEOS ! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK & CONTINUE TO TEACH US HOW TO SEW THE WAY YOU SPEAK : S L O W L Y ;-)

Omg thank you! So useful. Please make more
Great tutorial. My stitches are never ever straight and now I know why. I was watching the needle!! Now I know better. Thanks!
yay! im so glad it helped :D
Love your hair!
Everytime I sew, the back part is always loose. How can I make it tight? I've tried adjusting the tension but I still get the same result.
+Jirah Udarbe I realize I may be late in letting you know but I think that has to do with the bobbin thread. I had a similar problem when my bobbin thread was not placed correctly and wasn't staying put in the knotch that guides the thread.
when i'm sewing my head is bobbing up and down along with the needle, uncontrollably.
