I love confirmation of approach, it's especially helpful in videos. I was pivoting on curves, but wasn't sure if that was an acceptable method and so I felt like I was not doing it correctly. Your tips are so helpful and absolutely needed - "Thank you, Paige"!

I wonder if you will be doing a video about reading patterns? I get pretty overwhelmed with them. I have been sewing "by eye" for a while and have enjoyed the skirts and things I've made but I'd like to learn the right way things are done. lol
It may dull the needle quicker than normal sewing but it won't hurt the machine. Use regular printing paper so it isn't too thick. Sewing machine needles should be changed every few projects if they are big, so you could use an older needle if you want to.

You could use this technique to create fancy square fabric pieces that can be part of a large blanket or quilt.

You would be moving the object being sewn. The needle doesn't change.
